  1. KKW, I dont get it, you asked for your account to be deleted. Now you just post from someone elses account instead. What was the point of that. Oh well.

    You tell me Bhenjee?

Tell you what? I asked the question.

    It dont matter, forget it.

  2. vahegurooooo, the more programs the better.... so does that mean just because coventry sangat do it on the first program of the first month that no one else can... thats nice

Listen its common sense really. there are prgrammes in london, thats fine because it means that the london sangat can go to them programmes. Now leicster and coventry are quite close to each other, so would it make sense for eveyone to just go to one programe (the coventry one which has been goin on for ages) for all the sangat to be together?? Of course it does.

But if its gona go ahead, then let it continue. Its all good.

  3. Tarrandeeeeeeep bhenji. Clearly the original poster's mind does not work in the same way as yours does. We're different. One person thinks it's an innocent question and wants to learn whereas for another the answer might seem obvious and the question silly. But that's no reason to put them down. At least they want to learn and want to do what's right. If we push them away and then hear that they've done something which we consider to be immoral, we are also partly to blame because we had the chance to help them. These chances don't come every minute of every day and whenever they do it's an opportunity which Guru Ji gives us to share the little we know with other Sikhs. We need to make the most of the little tests.

I'd emphasise the point that S1ngh made.. I know people who have gotten married to extremely distant cousins, several times removed and not direct relations. In that case it might be that you don't know the person at all, have never met, and do not really consider them as your family. Would that be so wrong? Is that what the OP is referring to? Or does he/she mean like brother/sister/first cousin?

My approach may have been harsh because i was shocked at the question - (the same as other members!) but i did not 'put him down' u guys r acting as if i swore at him or something?

    ahh i cant be bothered.

The Dark Age of Kali Yuga is the knife, and the kings are butchers; righteousness has sprouted wings and flown away.

    :((

    WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!

why on earth would you want to marry a member of your family! they're related to you!!! erghhhhhh

    To BaBa G;

Calm down, all i sed was its the most stupid post ive read on sikh sangat- whats the need for putting the comment saying im attacking another member? Do explain how thats attacking someone? I dont want to show disrespect, but other members have said far worse in the past, yet you seem the need to pick on me?

The poster didnt say long disatnce or far related, he sed FAMILY, so if u veiw them as a FAMILY member, u dont marry them. quite simple.

  6. Omg that is absolutely disgusting!

Firstly why the hell was a 59 year old woman and a 71 yr old man, given IVF treatment in the first place! Its baaned in the UK for a reason! How selfish, so their kids would be ten and there mom wound be like 70! She wouldnt be able to take care of the kids properly!

I hope a dedicated couple adopt these little girls and give them the upbringing they deserve.

This whole 'I wanna boy not a girl' thing gets on my nerves, who cares! As long as its a healthy baby! Be thankful!

  7. the bibi shudnt be dressed like a 'hindu' with all red and gold jewellery. simple is best.

Obvioudly both singh and singhni should be wearing kirpans. Not sure if it matters whose holding one or not, just for how really.

I think it should be left as singh in front, bibi behind, this has been done for years, also in bhai sahibs time, why change it now?

  8. It's good you wear Bana since it is a Rehat that should be followed. And other people making excuses, should recognise their own Dhill rather than suggesting Bana Rehat is unneeded.

But I don't think you are promoting it in the right way, saying "I keep Bana Rehat and nobody else does", why not have Nimrata and promote it with Pyaar.

What about Rehats such as Sarbloh Bibek, Pukka Amritvela, extra Bania every day, these are all Rehats also and instead of bigging ourselves up for keeping these Rehats instead why don't we thank Guru Ji he has given them us for now (he may take them away in the future) and realise we are only human and for one person trying their best, is different to another person trying their best, and focus on the bigger picture, who knows where we could be in 5, 10 or 20 years time.

    Good Post.

  9. 'Hard to fit into society'

I hate this phrase lol. At the end of the day were different its something to be proud of, if we wear a dastar we dont 'fit in' anyway, so what, we wear the trendiest coolest clothes to try and look like everyone else?

I agree with what sumone sed above, baana doesnt mean that you are a spiritual person or whatever. If we wear baana, we wear the khalsa uniform, a good number of baana can last you for ages, no need to buy more clothes and keep up with ever changing fashion trends, al that money you save can be put to good use.

I wouldnt look down on or think bad of someone who didnt wear baana, and i know baana isnt everythink.........but yeah lol.

  11. There is no point in answering a post such as the one from 'TheVampire'. He/She hasnt come here to look for answers or learn, theyre just here to cause friction and spread the hate.

If you have probelms with all these issues, just come right out with it and ask for an explanation, instead of trying to take the mick out of a gursikh who tries to keep the rehit of sarbloh bibek, why not do some research, ask these people why they keep the rehit.

No one is forcing you to do things you dont want to do, if you want to go out, wear a hat, eat a burger and have fun, go ahead.

If you have genuine questions on naam and rehit, reword what you say and do some research.

  12. Hello Tarrandeep Kaur

This is a really good opportunity. I am just finishing university and plan to start learning punjabi after my exams in order for me to be able to learn gurbani. I thought that you needed to know punjabi inside out first before you could learn gurmukhi? I don't know any punjabi at all. It's a shame but i'm gonna learn now. This sounds like such a great opportunity. I'm very excited. Do you think its possible i could actually know gurmukhi by the end of the summer through these classes?

    Thanks alot.

    Check ur PM's paaji.

  13. hahaha yehhh that techno singh, always trying to stir trouble.... <_< hahaha :p

anyways, wen we receive amrit what do we say everytime it is given to us by each of the panj piayre, VAHIGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHIGURU JI KI FATEH. this is the first thing we said once we received amrit, everytime we greet a khalsa, we say fateh. its very powerful.

Whenever i say fateh to older people who arent amritdhari they never say fateh back, they say 'sat sri akal' so i dunno.

I think fateh is how we should greet each other, but i guess its minor.
