This is a great opportunity to learn larivaar gurbani for people of all stages. Even if you dont know any punjabi, he will be able to teach u to read paath in no time.

During the summer holidays, he will be teaching everyday at west brom....exact dates and times will follow. He is very strict and commitment is needed. If u come once, you have to go everyday!

THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

If your interested PM me as we need to know an idea for numbers.''

  2. (Tarrandeep Kaur Bhenji, this thread was let through because the original poster was asking for advice on how to move on, and get more engrossed in bani. He didn't come here to be told that his problem/thread is stupid. We are doing something about these threads, but nobody would really know about it because they don't see the ones which we don't let through.)

    ok sorry, my mistake.

  3. haaaa true love?

The only true love is the love for mahraj.

All other loves and emotional attachment to Maya are false. They shall pass away, like false and transitory decorations.Servant Nanak is fulfilled, through the Love of the True Guru. ||4||4||42||

He sees a girl, likes her, and your telling me thats true love!?

Actually it was a waste of time me even posting in this thread. Point is younger people will read things like this and think its ok to date etc.. then they end up in a mess. think before you type. Sikh Sangat really need to do something about threads like these, theres just too many of them.

this seems normal and usually happens in this age. nothing wrong with it. sikhi is a practical religion and we must accept it in a practical way. as long as you are strong to your roots and stay in sikh rehat mariyda, nothing is wrong.

on the other hand, go and talk to this girl and express your feeling and love and care to her and may be she has the same feeling. and if this is the case, then what else you need. tell your parents and make it formal and may be when you both pass college and families ready to take further step, then just go ahead.

remember, as a sikh we have to live with kam-krodh-lobh-moh-ahankaar, but at the same time we must have control over all these things. we are humans and these 5 things are for us to use at right time and at right place.

Oh forgodsake, the guy just said his amritdhari. Do you really think you should be giving out 'advice' like that.

We live in this duniya where maya attacks us all the time, we are going to get feelings of kaam, but to just give into them is stupid. Its like saying if someone wanted to go clubbing, would you tell them to just go??

No, we are sikhs, we need to fight these feelings, we need to replace them with naam and baani.

If he wants to speak to his parents then ok, but dont go up to the girl and start dating her... :umm:

  5. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

    http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=523

This shabad makes it pretty clear just how vast the potential time scale would be. It would also differ a lot between souls. E.g. an ant can live for up to seven years. Or it can be squished by a human on day one of wandering out of its home. Or, if it's a queen ant it can live about 25 years. In the above shabad it mentions rocks and mountains. What is the 'life'span of a mountain?

You're right it would be very interesting, mind-boggling and awe-inspiring to see an average figure, but Gurbani also says many people spend lots and lots of time trying to come up with things like scientific formulae to estimate the greatness of God and creation. However at the end of the day nobody can ever truly describe Akaal Purakh and his play, and their lives pass by in this way.

    Good Answer.

At the end of the day, have we really got time to be working stuff out like that, not much point, we know we are lucky to be here, and must have been through many life form to get to the human form. So lets take advantage of this, dont waste time, and fulfil our purpose for being here.

  6. Well I live.....................................................somewhere on earth :D and here I pay 4 uk pounds a month.

Don't be ashamed of your country of origin! ;)

    I'm not ashamed. It's called Guptness :)

I know where you live :p

  7. In the UK it is legal for termination to be carried out up to 24 weeks of pregnancy.

''At 24 weeks the baby becomes legally viable and if the baby was born now it would have a reasonable chance of survival outside the womb in an intensive care unit.

At 24 weeks the baby will now be able to kick and may well have a sleep and wake cycle you can notice. it may get hiccups brought on by her primitive chest movements, which she makes to practice her breathing techniques. The baby will now measure more than the width of a magazine.''

Is this just, its legal to abort a baby at 24 weeks, where basicallly it has a chance of surviving outside the womb. This is murder.

In the case of rape, then the victim should take the abortion pill, (or whatever its called) as soon as they can. Actually they should take the morning after pill if possible. Theres no need to wait for such a long time when the baby has grown so much. I think the law is stupid, 24 weeks is legal to abort a baby??? Absolutely stupid.

  8. Yes if a couple are non amritdhari and are married, if one of the couple wants amrit the other has to take amrit to. Becuase they are married, and live together, its not possible to live as a couple with one being amritdhari and the other not.

However in bhai sahibs times, ive read a few cases where the same thing happened, the singh really wanted to take amrit but his wife didnt. He was so desperate for amrit, but his wife wasnt with him, so he was given amrit on the condition that he cut all ties/his relationship with his wife. So he wouldnt eat from her, had no sexual relationships with her etc. Actually i dont think he lived with her anymore.

So it depends how desperate one is for amrit, and if their willing to sacrifice stuff for it.

for those of us who work, we can give the guys who made the film some of our daswandh.

  11. CALM DOWN.

ITS JUST A STRAND OF HAIR, LEAVE IT BE.

we spend all our time worrying about silly little issues, then when its our time, we cry and beg for more time to make things right.

no offence, dont mean to be harsh, but such issues like these arent worth you stressing over.

  12. Thanks for the responses,

Guru has been on my side, and I am allowed to wear it so long as it is kept high up the arm and wrapped, then taped over top. This is an effective solution and I am quite grateful, and glad that I didn't give up on my faith.

If people can wear wedding bands, why not be able to wear Kara which is a part of the Sikh image? I literally feel naked without it.

Thanks everyone, please maintain your Saroop Diligently, do not act in anger, just pray and it will come true because you will believe in the world being changed for you.

In the words of Sikh Coalition:

The Coalition urges the Sikhs to wear their articles of faith, including the kirpan, freely.

    Gurfateh

hmm you have to put tape over the top?

I work in microbiology with all the funky bacteria and that lol.

I have to push my kara up to the top of my arm, then put a tight sweat band on top of it. I wouldnt use tape though, as when removing it, you mite remove some of ur kesh from ur arm.

  13. I dont think there are any good places. I tried a while back... :umm: ...lets just say it didnt turn out rite lol.

just do wat i do, get your mama - family/friends- to get them made when they go to india.... yup, thanks aman mama :vaheguru:

Or I think nowadays you can buy ready made baana online...

  14. There's no gullible about it. As you often state this is a Sikh forum and as such we should expect everyone to tell the truth always. Or is lying acceptable to you?

calm down. how have i ever shown tht i beleive lying is ok? oh wel, dnt matta.

see 1978, look wat uve dun lol.
