  1. While taking a shower, you can take your Kachera off of ONEleg ONLYand wrap the whole of it to the ankle of the other. This way it's not off of your body. When you are done with the bath part, still have your wet Kachera tied to your ankle, you should carefully wear an underwear not letting it touch your wet Kachera. There are special underwears for women for the time of the month. They help keep your pad or whatnot in place. These hug your stomach helping it ease off any pain; thats if you experience any. After that you can simply put on your new dry Kachera. Put your leg into the new dry Kachera thats the leg without the wet kachera on it. After that take off the wet kachera, wash that leg with the wet Kachera on it and dry it and put the dry Kachera on that leg as well. This way you have kept your Kachera on all this while. I hope it makes sense. Make sure that under no condition should you take your Kachera OFF of both your legs.

    STOP IT! :@

This ONE LEG business is RIDICULOUS!!. A kechara is a kechara. Simply remove it COMPLETELY when taking a shower or bath. Its not going make you less of a Sikh.

Penji, just wear knickers. If you fill that wearing kechara on top of your knickers will make YOU FEEL like a better "Sikh" then do that.

One dons underwear for modesty and thats what Guru jee wanted us to do. People of India at Guru jees time probably did not and maybe only wore a dhodi.

Wear knickers and use "winged" press-on towels.

    This was how it started.

I posted my recommendation but was bombarded with people with BAHMAN type mentality.

  3. i dont think like a bahman u ignorant stuck up woman

    ignorant???

GURBANI is AGAINST superstitous and ritualistic NONSENSE.. You calling Gurbani ignorant NOT ME!! :6

if u dare so much come say it 2 my face innit

ill show u whats right and whats wrong!

    Fine. Just NAME THE PLACE.

if u dare so much come say it 2 my face innit

ill show u whats right and whats wrong!

and I will show you WHERE in GURBANI it CLEARLY states about FUTILE ritualism and superstitious practices!

  4. u seriously have no right to call ma a bahman...

so basically ur saying that the majority of sikhs in the world who took amrit and have all the pank K's with them are bahmans ???

HAVE you even been FOLLOWING all the post.? The discussion is about "the one leg" business of wearing kechara when taking a shower or bath.

  5. well u HAVE to

Sorry I cannot be a BAHMAN like you.

    exactly! doin my head in!

Try READING Gurbani. It might help you STOP thinking like a BAHMAN.

totally ! like do u think ur bigger than guru ji?!!

    dude think again

    1. I am not a "dude".

    2. SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE is BIGGER than me not "BAHMAN" teaching.

  6. sIl jq kI kC pihir pkiVE hiQAwrw ]

"The sign of true chastity is the Kashera you must wear this, And hold weapons in hand."

    (Bhai Gurdas Jee, //. 41, pauri 15)

The Kashera is the sign of sexual restraint and a constant reminder of our moral duties as Sikhs. The Kashera and

Kirpan are never to be separated from the body.

    1. Bhai Gurdas jee DID NOT write vaar 41.

    2. LUST - by keeping one leg in your kechara whilst taking a bath IS NOT GOING TO STOP your Lust!!

READ what Gurbani as per Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee says about the MIND and KAAM.

    3. In Guru Jees time people wore dhoti or not even wear modest loin covering.

  7. Please TELL me WHERE does it say in SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE that we should practice RITUALISM or SUPERSTITIOUS believes?

    okayy?..... so then....

we shouldn't do nitnem cause thats a ritual

we shouldn't do naam abhiyaas at amritvela cause thats a ritual

Remembering the NAAM 24 hrs a day IS NOT practising futile man-made ritualism and superstitions.

Not removing kechara whilst taking a bath or shower and saying that its part of Sikhee IS practising superstitious practice.

Its no better then being a BAHMAN!! and practising BIPRAN KEE REET!!!

  8. Please TELL me WHERE does it say in SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE that we should practice RITUALISM or SUPERSTITIOUS believes?

umm bhenji guru gobind singh ji gave us the panj kakkar we can not let them go

and another thing is all ten gurus jot is in sri guru granth shaib ji

Did Guru Jee say that we must practice ritualism or believe in superstitious practices?

    NO he DID NOT.

  9. exactly! just tell her what u think she should do stop filling the girls head with thoughts like that!!

i think penji u should just use a pany under ur kashera put the pad on the pantie ....u can wear it without leaving ur kashera off..just use the one leg thing

    RITUALISM is NOT Sikhee.

Removing a kechara from our body to take a bath will NOT make us less of a Sikh.

So please STOP distorting Sikhee!!!! :@

Your clearly not getting the point. Let me help to make it clearer:

OUR PANJ K'S CANNOT BE SEPERATED FROM OUR BODY, THATS WHY WE REMOVE ONE LEG FIRST, THEN THE OTHER...WE DO WHATEVER OUR PANJ PYARE TELL US...NOT WHAT YOU SAY..YOUR NOT GURU JI!

I hope you understand now. :)

    RITUALISM is NOT Sikhee.

Removing a kechara from our body to take a bath will NOT make us less of a Sikh.

When we die, do you think our 'kechara' is going to go with us?

    So please STOP distorting Sikhee!!!!

Your "Guru" is TEACHING you RITUALISM.

MINE that is SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JEE is not.

Gurbani as per Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee CLEARLY rejects futile ritualistic practices and superstitious believes.

  10. exactly! just tell her what u think she should do stop filling the girls head with thoughts like that!!

  12. Ji, I couldnt agree with you more.

Is anyone inside Sikhi let alone outside of Sikhi aware of the pillars of Sikhism??

    - Kirat Karo - to live an honest family life & earning by the sweat of one's brow

    - Vand Chhako - to share with the community through charitable giving

    - Naam Japo - continual remembrance of Waheguru & focus on his name

It's a sad reflection when people say what's Sikh or "ahhh you're Sikh: you guys like a drink or you guys <insert Punjabi stereotype here>"

Too much time wasted on in-fighting & building monuments rather than to actually spread Gurbani.

    Waheguru...Waheguru...Waheguru...

Why are you calling yourself a "ravidassia" Sikh?

  13. When will the Sikh Channel be available on Virgin?

Khalsa ji, you can watch some of the shows on this youtube channel

    http://www.youtube.com/user/KhalsaPanthMovement

'I disagree. As a family we have grown quite fond of Bhai Boota Singh and his jatha, my eldest kid (5 year old) wants to watch his katha/keertan every night. To us it's pretty high "quality" katha!'

Totaly with you on that bhai sahib :D

    Thanks for the uploads.

Having only virgin media subscription, I have not able to watch the programs on TV.

    ja(n)miaa pooth bhagath govi(n)dh kaa ||

"Pooth" does not neccassarily mean "a son". I know many older relatives who called me pooth as a term of endearment.

    What does the sangat think?

Pooth as an endearment makes more sense in relation to overall Guru Mat .

jio baalak pithaa oopar karae bahu maan ||

"Baalaak" would then translate to "offspring"

The following veechar is of a Salok of Dhan Dhan Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji:

    ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਜੀਐ ਜੋ ਅਨਹੋਨੀ ਹੋਇ ॥

    ਇਹੁ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥੫੧॥

Guru Teg Bahadur ji says.. u should do chinta if something anhonee (unexpected, impossible) happens. BUT, anhonee never happens !! (THIS IS THE WHOLE SUMMARY IN ONE LINE FOR THIS VEECHAR) everything that happens is honi (expected, possible).

Your translation does not seem to tally with -

icMqw qw kI kIjIAY jo AnhonI hoie ]

chi(n)thaa thaa kee keejeeai jo anehonee hoe ||

People become anxious, when something unexpected happens.

This is the way of the world, O Nanak; nothing is stable or permanent. ||51||

To understand the "worry" subject, I recommend reading this article http://www.gurbani.org/articles/webart159.htm "Worry"

  17. The only solution to this problem is that all the jatt sikh gurudwara people all over the world should go the ravidassias and there gurudwaras and stand by them at this senstive time and send strong message to whoever did it that we as sikhs stand united against them and i think all the sikhs should realise the and protest against the death of Sant ramannad ji coz he was a SIKH. Its time to unite not to divide

Your very statement is already creating division - pure manmat. There is NO such thing as a jatt or ramgharia or dalits Gurdwara. There is only ONE Gurdwara for ALL.
