  1. o yeh i forgot, sikhi is all about just keeping your hair eh grin.gif

this tuk fits very well in this situation

did i say that sikhi was just about keepin ur hair... No. it is a MAJOR part of sikhi to keep ur hair.. its rehat. are u sayin that its not a big deal if she removes her hair??

  2. can sikhs who keep hair and beard compete with clean shaven guys cos these days women only want clean shaven guys even religious sikh women run off with non sikh guys and prefer clean shaven guys!...........is that why guys are cutting their hair now?

you cant say tht all sikh women want a clean shaven guy.

im a ''sikh woman''----- do i want a clean shaven guy??? rolleyes.gif errrrr NO!

HAHAHAH ur funny 'maha moorakh'..... u obviously get it from me!

yeh, dont categorise all sikh girls into this category...anyway ive found the oppoiste 2 what u found. alot of punjabi/ sikh girls i no WANT 2 marry an amritdharee/keshdharee guy cos 'their parents like it' or 'they treat u better'.... soo dont go round generalisin :TH:

I thought you should only marry a person because you love them, parents liking it makes it sound like they're forced or something.

I didnt mean their parents are forcing them. i meant that a lot of girls that i no hav said that they would rather marry an amritdharee/keshdharee sikh boy becos of their parents agreeing wiv it more than if they were moneh etc.the parents like the boys more etc haha u shud only marry a person if u love them... hmmm well then how do arrange/assisted marriages work?? the 'love' ur talkin about isn't real love...ur makin it sound a bit westernized.

  3. Should I buy the Playstation 3?

Call me a geek but I'm planning to buy a linux computer and I'm thinking the PS3 might be a good candiate.

I want it to be my home's media and security center, i.e. hook it up to the CCTV, let it manage the DVR, run my VOIP, run my application server on it???

umm.... I know they say that the ps3 is like a supercomputer, but it isn't. That sounds like alot of stuff, and I'd just go for an actual pc. Voip is going to come through games and playstation home (supposed to come out this fall). In terms of media and security center with dvr, you can install yellow dog linux (i think that's it), get a usb tv tuner and install mythtv on it, so I guess that would take care of the DVR functionality. I have no clue about running an application server though.

I was thinking about buying the PS3, but its ridiciously overpriced.

The blueray thing is cool, but i still think $600 for a gaming system is stupid, then again i probably will end up buying it! :homer

    Fateh.

The bluray is amazing. Just watched Bluray "The Departed" on it, and I can honestly say that the quality of the Bluray movies on my ps3 are awesome. Oh and the games are awesome :@

Smartsingh... STOP PLAYIN SO MANY GAMES!! gosh... u should be studyin! im tellin ur mum... :umm:

  4. :@ nice story rolleyes.gif

and yes you hit it right on the dot :TH:

and to add to that, atleast afterwards she'll realize something, cause frankly if all that advice from the previous thread didn't help, what would this new one do? rolleyes.gif if she doesn't want to to keep em, thats her choice.

another way to look at it. if a sikh munda doesn't want to keep his joora, but is keeping it because he is scared that he'll get kicked outta the house if he gets it removed then is he really keeping his hair????

PS shanti, thats was JUST a story rolleyes.gif

I agree wiv u that ppl should be keepin their kesh for the right reasons... but i think its totally wrong that ur tellin this bibi 2 remove her hair. I think she needs support right nw, not the opposite!!! I dnt really no what 2 say 2 the person who posted this, jus that its hukam. tell her not 2 worry about what others think cos ull get nowhere in life if u do that and ur only meant to be tryin 2 please guru jee, the rest of the ppl in this world will come nd go. (also most of them will let ya down, yet guru jee will NEVER let u down) It would be totally wrong 4 her 2 remove ANY hair from her body, tell her 2 be strong. nd probably not 2 listen 2 half the ppl on this forum who r tellin her 2 remove her hair.... disgraceful!

  6. are these the signs of people that want to "merge" with waheguru? :ysad:

Sadly YES :) and Gupt Singhni you ain't that gupt, Bandri na howe ta :@ :umm:

Yo what you playing at? This is a warning...mind the language or we will have to ban you!

    Admin

Manmohan... ur not on the admin team, u cant tell ppl to mind their language!!! rolleyes.gif

  7. Its not amrit. i got tld that its hindu rituals coming into sikhi... how can it be amrit when it has not been prepared by panj piyare?? some people of the elder generation sumtimes regard it as amrit nd say if u drink it, when ur ill, ull become better etc but its basically not amrit

  8. I dont know exactly what happened, will hav 2 ask my dad when he gets back from india but apparently he started sayin that u dont need ur kakaars etc that theyre not important so they stopped him from doin kirtan. I dont think he thinks that anymore tho. He was basically setting a bad example and many people started following what he said.

Yeh back in the day, rainsbhais were gr8 when he did kirtan!!!

perhaps sum1 else could elaborate on this :@

If i find out any more info, i will let u guys know.

  9. ah bless, the JATHA have their personalized night so they really dont need to interact with other sikhs on vasakhi...i shall cancel my night out to my local singh sabha gurdwara and sit with my special jatha instead.

I think that was a bit uncalled 4!! whats wrong wiv havin kirtan programmes on vaisakhi?? actually its coventry cross roads sangat organisin it... soo dunno whre ur gettin all this jatha business from. ur welcome 2 come along if u want...
