  1. jss... u cant judge all amritdharee singhniaa that wear bana etc jus becos of 1 bad experience... maybe the singhni didn't hear u? ther mite be a perfectly gud explanation. ur sayin we shudn't judge ppl yet here ur sayin ppl who wear make-up etc are better than the singhni wiv the bana, id hav 2 totally disagree wiv u. i dont no bout where it says u shudn't wear make-up etc, but i think u shudn't wear it....whats the point in adornin this body when its not ours... were jus usin it 2 get to waheguru... wearin make-up etc is not gonna help u at all, plus thers no need 4 it. yehh right, as if a girl wuld admit 2 u that she wears make-up 4 guys... what other reason did they hav 4 wearin it??? its all 4 ppls self-esteem nd attrach the opposit genders attention! i dunno how u can condone it?? even panj piyare tell ppl not 2 wear make-up etc. i understand ur point where u said bout the dumulle and ppl tryin 2 make them look nice... it is kind of the same issue, but wearin a dumulle, ur a representation of a khalsa, so it shud look respectable. we dont want sikhs to be portrayed as scruffy etc, so thats the reason 4 that. but make-up.... hmm dont say how thats portrayin a gud image? im not judgin ppl that wear make-up cos i no loads of ppl that do, im jus sayin that its superficial, whats the need 4 it??

i agree wiv u on the point where u said "i'm just saying we can't always know the inner condition of someone's soul, simply by what we see on the exterior..." as thats true, u cant tell what ppl r like, only waheguru can, but that doesn't mean wearin make-up is alrite. it seems 2 me like u r tryin 2 say thats its alrite... its also becos of ppl like that that many girls think it is alrite.

  2. I think the opening thread was abit superficial.

In terms of extremists and fanatic sikhs, what do we actually mean?

Obviously you are talking of this issue due to your experiences, please give examples of events or things you have witnessed that make this question arise in your mind?

And when we talk about the "youth" who are supposedly 'extreme' and need to be 'suppressed' who are we actually talking about and what do they do that makes you say they are extreme?

Questions open to everyone thread here?

What i mean is in terms of hinduphobia not being open-minded to other peoples views e.g jathas (may not come under extermisim but still is a problem)

going over the top with some things e.g with were u eat? what type of people u associate with etc... sikhs are only alowed to do sangat of other gursikhs etc...

How can can u say that ppl are going 'over the top' with some things like where they eat and what type of ppl they associate with! just cos they have different rehat to u, doesn't mean they are going over the top! thats ur opinion and i think that ppl who u say 'go over the top' just have a stricter rehat, which shudnt be portrayed as wrong. they are not goin over the top, theyre just tryin to do what they think is right 4 themselves, i say well done them. where u eat or who u eat from and who u associate with can have an effect on ur sikhi, thats why some ppl r strict when it comes to these things... i wuldn't call it being 'over the top' though.

i dont no how this is a problem, just cos one person is sarbloh bibeki etc, how is it affectin u?? The best way to do parchar of sikhi is to lead by example. and u said 'all jathas are not open-minded to other peoples views'...lets not make assumptions here.

  3. I think the actual meaning behind this video and why it was produced is sincere, as the singhs just wanted to do parchar of sikhi. Howver,i dont think this is a gud way 2 do it, it kinda portrays a bad image on singhs and also there r better ways to spread sikhi. This seems more to me like these singhs were jus takin the mick and wanted a laugh rather than make ppl aware of what happens. Everyone knows that this happens to SOME ppl from india, thers no need 2 make a whole video about it... i dont really think that this was the best way to show this.

  4. hmmm it seems like it was self-defense at first, but it sounds like anger took over u, which is no a gud thing. did u try speakin 2 the guy first? altho i no this is hard seen as its about to knck u out.... but jus be careful nxt time, doin things in anger even if it is 4 a gud reason like ur dumalla nearly being knocked off, is not gud.

  5. 'KURTAS'... y cant u jus accept it, the hair that comes out of ur kanga shud be burnt!! its jus basic respect for ur kesh. what else would u suggest ppl do with it? throw it in the bin wiv all the other rubbish? throw it on the floor so that ppl can step on it wiv their feet? dont u think this is disrespectful?? so many singhs nd singhniaa died for their kesh and sikhi in general and here u are jus throwin ur kesh in the bin like it doesn't mean anythin! and why do ppl hav 2 question everythin? y not jus accept that u hav to burn it?

in future 'kurtas', u shud really think be4 u post sumthin, u offend ppl and ur posts r jus horrible. if u dont agree with something someone else in this forum says, dont use harsh words, its not going to get u anywhere, just ask them in a loving compassionate way, the way sikhs of guru jee are meant to speak.

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh

  6. I think nihung viramdeep singh needs to watch his language, and next time if u want to put ur point of view across, i suggest u do it in a nicer way, and then someone might actually listen 2 u. and a red lengha hahaha BIG NO!! which gursikh weddings hav u been 2 wear the girl has worn a big red lengha?
