  1. Thank you so much veerji, I really appreciate your help. I am from Derby (UK) what about you? Thanks for the advice and I shall take note of everything you have told me!

If you go to Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Derby on a saturday evening or sunday morning just ask one of the singhs there. I'm sure none of them would mind teaching you :)

  2. Join a group/society in something you like doing. For example, if you like art then join an art class that way you will develop skills to interact with others. From my own personal experience, Kirtan has helped me alot! So maybe give it a try :)

  3. vjkk vjkf!!!

    quick question...

amritdhari, nitnemi, naamsimran, seva doing singh been having trouble finding a rishta for while now, like 3 years!!!

tried all the sites, tried going thru friends, family, gianis too lol. even approached girls too.

nothing has worked. been rejected by about 20 "singnees"..

soo the question is has any others been having the same trouble?

its seems that almost alll girls are judgemental and/or superficial. some say they are not ready but their families are looking for them, huh?? some just say have no interest, some say they are not looking any more, or they have to think it over........ :-\

I would approach an elder Gursikh. If your from the UK, I would personally approach Bhai Raghbir Singh from Leamington or Bhai Jarnail Singh! OR you could sign up to the akj matrimonial site? OR I've heard of some who even went into an amritsanchaar and asked the panj pyare to help.

    Best of luck.

  4. Just stand there, look up and screw in an imagined light bulb with your right hand, somewhere a foot above you head, a little to the right.

Then slightly turn your head to the left and raise you left hand (whilst lowering you right) and screw in another imagined light bulb (by twisting your hand at the wrist) above the left side of your head.

Keep repeating this and throw in some knee bends.

    Hope that helps....

    Hahahahahahaaa!!!

Seriously, this is the wrong forum for your question!

Hahahahahaha someones clearly an expert! Maybe this person did come to the right sight :tongue2: :lol2:

  5. Kaam is one of the 5 deadliest enemies ( the others are: krodh, lobh, moh, ahankar ..... ninda, jalan, chuglee, jhoot, lalach, laziness...etc) that attack the soul without mercy. The mind uses them as tools to keep the soul imprisoned, apart from many other ways, along with Maya. The soul is being harrased, since it left it`s Father`s (Satnam ) house (Sach Khand ). It´s condition is very dreadfull, without any shore or anchor to lean on, there is no thaao. Constantly roaming in the wheel of Chaurasee Ka Chakar. And for that, we alone are to be blamed, we do not listen nor pay attention to the real teachings of our Gurus`.

When our first Guru came on earth; orthodox practices were common in those days, would be better said, even before.....up to nowdays.

While they are, they remove our agyanta, our prejudices, our manmukhta, our outer or external practices, which are futile in results, and are just like smoke, no reality in it, they ( our Gurus) show us the realty, by attaching us to their Nij Roop, Nam or Shabad.

Since they left us, we have been manipulated, our reasoning power has been extirpated, by the so board members, the Truth they made us know, has been darkened with their poisnous behaviour, they have spread poison everywhere and in almost all.

These members have politizied the real sikhee, but we understanding the teachings of the Gurus`, it seems that, all is the fantasy of these leaders, I personally do not believe what they say, that our Patshah Guru Gobind Singh said.

We can see it by ourselves, reading and understanding the Bani of the previous Gurus`, is simialr, there are no such external practices, politics, rules, regulations, they taught that Nam and Shabd is everything. Nobody can take the place of a real Satguru. After all, these leaders, at most what can they offer is only what thay have, and they may have everything, but not the love and essence of Nam, and this void has to be filled with something, so they fill it with symbols, and external practices.

It is a pity, that Sikhee is such a noble, and a beautiful summary of some of Wahiguru`s virtues, grace, daya, meher, inmensity, truth, bakshish.... and that all this, has been reduced and polluted, between the four walls of rules and regulations, then zaat, paat, land, rituals, rites, dogmas...etc.

This is the pitiful and hopeless situation of mankind in general, but here we refer to our sikh brothers and sisters, with whom we are concerned. There is nothing wrong in following the customs and traditions in the dharam whre one is born, but we should be not so blinded with them, that we loose the truth out of our sight. I know, many will be hating me, when reading this, but my love for Wahiguru, and for the truth, and then for all the mankind, which has the ray of divinity in each individual, has propelled me in writing this, all the four corners of the existence has the right in knowing the realty of Wahiguru Akal Purukh in the real measure.

And all this, what has been said, is based just from the bani, for that purpose some lines are been given as proofs, of that truth, which our Gurus showered on the mankind equally on everybody without any distinctions:

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਉ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਸੁਆਉ ॥ bin sathigur naao n paaeeai bin naavai kiaa suaao || Without the True Guru, the Name is not obtained. Without the Name, what is the use of it all?

Without the True Guru, the Name is not obtained. Without the Name, what is the use of it all?

These are just few sample lines from the bani, as we can see only importance of WAHIGURU as objective, through Nam and Shabad are written on each parragraph, on each page, and then too we are so manmukhs that we fail to see the truth in them.

Mind is always fond of sensual pleasures, so unless we give it the taste, of something superior and everlasting taste, like Nam....it will never give up it`s bad habits. So Nam is the truth which our Gurus taught as remedy for fighting the mind and these vices, and also Nam is the only vehicle for returning our true real Home Sach Khand, anything apart from this is wasting our precious time.

Benti: you don't use the term "pages". Guru Sahib is NOT a book so the correct term would be Ang (limbs).

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

  8. In my opinion, don't contact the parents YET. The girl may decide to leave home and run off with him. I would contact the organisations above and ask them to get involved and they can contact the parents. But thats just my opinion :)

  9. Sikh Channel need to be more open why do they always cut off Khalistan Zindabad in the live shows ie SYP show ?

They need to follow SikhTV's lead who is fearless and open on the subject of 1984 and Khalistan as you have all seen in the last few weeks

Sangat TV dont even go there -

Need to follow Sikh TV? I think not. Sikh Channel have done an AMAZING job!! How can you possibly say their not open on the subject of 1984 and Khalistan? Thats all thats been on there for the past 5/6 weeks!

Keep up the good work Sikh Channel :D

  10. In Punjabi, the word for brother is Bhaji ( not Paaji) . Sarbjeet S is right in that in Punjabi speech the word Paaji is generally used for father, or grandfather. It seems that people born in U.K, who mainly speak English, have difficulty in pronouncing Punjabi sound "Bh" correctly. They often pronounce the "Bh" sound as "P" sound. So they also tendto write it as they hear and pronounce it. Quite a few of them write "Bhaji" (Bhaaji) as "Paaji" and "Bhenji" (sister) as "penji".

Sometime back a linguist explained to me that Punjabi speech is aspirated and is tonal (one of the very few languages that are aspirate and tonal). But most other languages – English for example, are accentual. An English speaker is so used to accentuating the words that in so doing he finds it hard to slightly aspirate as well. When the words are accentuated, there is not enough time for aspirating the word.

So Sarbjeet S when someone from UK says Paaji and writes Paaji, he means "Bhaji"

My Santhiya teacher in India used to say people from outside could never pronounce a ਭ or ੜ

  11. Yeah and 3HO believe that female amritdhari Sikhs cannot cut the hair on their head, but all other facial and body hair can be removed!

I wouldn't take them as an example!

    Absolutely ridiculous!

    Totally disagree with jassa

how many wives and mothers of purataan gursikhs and mahapurasha's have you seen that wear make up and jewellrey?

Also, if it's acceptable for a woman to wear make up, then that means it's acceptable for a Singh to dye their dharaa black right?!?!

    Spot on!

There is no one you need to impress apart from God. Whats the need in all the jewelry, your just putting on a show! Who ever thinks its right to wear a lengha etc you need to wake up. Lengheh were first wore by prostitutes :)

  12. Waheguru Ji ka khalsa

    Waheguru ji ki fateh

Saad Sangat ji, Sikh applications such as sikhitothemax on pc and several android applications are used by Sikh Sangat worldwide, mainly for foreign countries sikhs. However, there are many mistakes in the baani stored in the applications. There is not even one application which has damdami taksaal pothi sahib correct baani. Sikh Sangat would really appreciate if someone experienced can create application from damdami taksaal pothi sahibs, so correct baani can be read by gursikhs who are using handheld devices and pcs.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh

I didn't know it was only "Damdami Taksal's" pothee sahib's with the correct gurbani.:eyeroll:
