  2. yeah, that site is better than this site. MORE FAIR MODERATION and MORE SIKHI!!

Im in no way related to this site but i have been posting here for a while. These sevadaars like any other site are doing loads of seva to bring us a place to learn and share. Please dont turn this into a competition between one site vs. another.

  3. Im sorry to hear about this bro ...

One thing you might want to consider and i thought about it reading your initial post. Can it be a possibility those pictures are of the 'past' and not present? Like BEFORE you guys got married?

And i agree with everyone, that above all and foremost before you get anyone involved in this matter, you should confront her first.

  4. Again from another thread...

We had 4 shabibzaddayen di shaheedi, Mata Gujri jee passed away in this month and even Guru Tegh bahadur jee sahheed in between november/december. Two chotay shaibzaday and mata gujri ji spent cold night outside in burj. Countless singh attained shaheedi in the battle of Chamkaur. Vichora of Guru Gobind Singh ji and his tough journey thru machheey vara jungle and sleeping on hard floor.

If we go in details.. 10,000 sikh soldiers fought in the battle of moodke against British to protect Punjab Sarkar. Since we lost that battle, thousands of khalsa sarkar soldiers died in that battlefield.

So.. how can we celebrate anything in December??

oh paaji.. every month theres something tragic that happened in sikh history, so on that note, how can we celebrate anything ANY month !?

    and to everyone else...

christmas is a fun time... ive celebrated it all my life growing up in such a society.... and presently i dun but if it brings a smile on a non-sikh, why not !? we as a family participated in the toy drive before to donate our old toys to children that are less fortunate .. yes they need more than just toys but they also need a smile on their face....i think ones who have been a part of this can understand it.. but just let it be, if someone does it and its not interfering with their gursikhi .. its just another fun time .. exchanging gifts, having a christmas tree at home, having some good times with family/friends !

    just my two cents

  5. I totally agree with this problem....

as much as history is important.. it is emphasized MORE on rather than the gurbani/gursikhi/rehat aspect ...

Just look at the gurdwara today ... MANY come to the gurdwara for what happened on a particular day (ie.gurpurb, vasaikhi).. there are vast increasing numbers of people that just come to gurdwara for ths reason that they know something important happened on this day ..

As much as this is important its focused on too much these days and i honestly believe its not letting individuals grasp the main msgs of our gurus in the gurdwaras... i was one of these iin the past and still i see this today in gurdwaras..

Eventhough there have been improvements (ie.english translation projectors, speakers, gurmat classes etx..) ..but these improvements i see in main areas with a big population of sikhs.....

We need more english kathavachiks in gurdwaras today ... less political games gng on in the structural aspect and more focused on the future youth.... take out all those old babai that are just there to cause problems..........

In summary in what i said.... we need both but if we need to draw in the crowd that just come to the gurdwara once a year for gurpurbs, vasaikhi.... we need to put in more emphasis on gurbani/translations/englishkathas ... im glad this is been focused on now in some parts of the world ! :)

  6. manchester smaagams are always a pleasure to here ! :@

im one of those that would agree with everyone saying we are gng for guru jees bani and not a specific keertani but its also good to know which gurmukh pyare are coming..

im from canada and when you hear india keertanees come to UK (that most have yet to give sangat in canada), along with other gursikhs.. thats a blessing to be in such great sangat !

i wish i had the time and money to goto manchester ..or else this break thats the place i wana be !

Looking forward to the recordings ! :)
