  4. One of the army guys had it quite right, actually. If Barsi Akhand Paath Saheb is simply a ritual that we Sikhs do, it could've been done at their own homes. But our politicians are scared to acknowledge their own Shaheed Singhs and their Shaheedi...no doubt, the Panth's chardi-kala will only spiral downwards.
  5. It's quite a tricky situation for the Punjab politicians. The funniest part was: Host: Is there terrorism in Punjab? Akaali Dal Politician: No. Host: In the past 4 years, 170 people have been arrested with links to terrorism. Does that not bother you? Akaali Dal P : Yeah, see!? Who's done that? Our Government has been trying the best to curb terrorism. Host: So, you do agree that there are terrorists in Punjab. Akaali Dal P : Ummm... Honestly, I agree with the anchor. Our politicians should take a stand as to whether Bhai Jinda and Bhai Sukha were assassins or martyrs. There is no point in being left dangling in between. The SGPC and Akaali Dal are not really considered very 'panthic' by us Sikhs...and now the mainstream Indian media has doubts on their patriotism towards India. Simply goes to show their very double-faced strategies and their insecurity about vote-banks. Although, I do applaud Bibi Kiranjot Kaur for bringing up the example of Pandit Nehru's remarks about Shaheeb Udham Singh before and after India's independence. The looks on every one's faces after listening to this was priceless! They couldn't speak anymore for a couple of seconds and seemed pretty shocked!
  6. NeoSingh Bhaji, the version I read has many little facts differing to the pages you've scanned. The ones you've attached seem quite similar to Baba Waryaam Singh Ji's language and his use of english words here and there. It seems much more legitimate as well. Is there a link to the entire upload? Or could you let me know which book it's from?
  7. LOL! Bhaji I don't know where to start. Okay, firstly, I'm your bhen...not veer Secondly, I absolutely adore the site! There's probably not a single article left that I haven't read yet :rolleyes2: The only reason why I wrote about it being non-sikhi based is because I believe that not everybody looks at SO much gyan in a positive way...Many want every single thing based upon a 'Gurbani-tuk' and might even judge it simply because it's more aligned towards the Hindu religion. Not many realise that 'Adhyaatamikta' has no religion. (and before the bashing up started...I had to write that. I don't like it when strangers are rude to me. :unsure2: ) Third....Me and my Singh have read a Punjabi translation PDF of the entire Pir Suleman story just a few days ago. :smile2:

  9. I suppose think link can help in understanding what our body is actually made up of. http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/articles/id/spiritualresearch/spiritualscience/what-are-humans-comprised-of The gist of it is: "A living person is made up of the following bodies. The Physical Body The Vital Energy Body (Praan-deha) The Mental Body (Mano-deha) The Intellect Body or Causal body (Kaarana-deha) The Subtle Ego or Supracausal body (Mahaakaarana-deha) The Soul or the God Principle in each of us (Aatma)" The answer to how the body works lies in the fourth point of the article: " 4. The Vital Energy Body This is the body also known as the Praandeha. This body provides the vital, life sustaining energy for all the functions of the physical as well as the mental body. There are five types of vital energies or praana: Praana: Energy for the activity of inhalation. Udaana: Energy for the activity of exhalation and speech. Samaana: Energy for the activity of the stomach and intestines. Vyaana: Energy for voluntary and involuntary movements of the body. Apaana: Energy for urination, excretion, ejaculation, childbirth, etc. At the time of death the vital energy is released back into the Universe and also helps in propelling the subtle body in its onward journey." So, countless cells come together to form different organs and thus the physical body. But it's not the different souls that make the cells work, rather the energy from the Vital body. In my opinion, bacteria and other micro-organisms are 'beings' on their own and do not come together to form organs for some other 'being'. Therefore, they have their own souls. (My opinion...I have nothing to back this). Regarding the soul entering the foetus: http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/articles/id/spiritualresearch/spiritualscience/lifebeforebirth/lifeinthewomb "2.2.3 When does the subtle body actually enter the foetus? At the point in time of conception, as explained earlier, the subtle body knows that a certain zygote has been earmarked for him. During the first three months of pregnancy, the subtle body is mostly in the subtle region where it came from and may or may not frequent the womb. After the third month however the subtle body is more likely to reside in the womb. The time of entry in the womb may vary from subtle body to subtle body. This time of entry is generally after the third month but can extend right up to the 7th month. The more earthbound the subtle body the sooner it takes its place in the womb. " P.S. I know the site I've mentioned isn't entirely Gurmat...or sikhi-based....But I haven't seen any other site that explains such stuff in such detail and with diagrams etc.
  10. The Hunt within... When will I hear thy footsteps? When will I hear thee coming? When will my ears want no more to hear? When will these eyes see you? When will they visualise the purest? If never! I pray and I wish O' Lord, I go deaf and blind, hear and see none else. Poignant melancholy descending upon... eyes in search of something lost... ears tracing thy voice... failing to realise, every time... It's thou that's all, everywhere... O' my beloved! I'm exhausted by the hunt, (but never will I stop) give me thy slightest clue I'll stand up again, look hither and thither Oh! though I know the hunt is within... Please help me O' Lord, Bless this seedling with thy fruit, Make me so Bless me so I be capable, to beg at thy doorstep, O' beloved...

  13. Waheguruji ka khalsa, Waheguruji ki fateh ji. Dear Sangat ji, Let's all do Chaupai Saheb collectively. Below are the rules of posting into this thread: 1. One cannot have two consecutive posts. (Let's give everyone a chance). 2. Only one tuk (line) in one post. 3. Translations are to be posted along with every tuk. To make it easy for everyone, I'll post the link to STTM site here (so you don't have to waste time on searching and re-searching...) http://www.sikhitoth...?ShabadID=10200 P.S. I'm not sure whether the Gurmukhi fonts have been fixed yet. So I'll post a tuk along with the Gurmukhi akhar first...so we can take a hint whether to post in transliteration alone. pwÚ 10 kibXobwc bynqI ]cOpeI ] paa 10 kabiyobaach baenathee ||chaapee || Kabiyo Baach Benthee Chaupai, Tenth King
  14. Interestingly, the way you type and the language you use...is extremely similar to the OP of this post: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/68592-want-to-end-this/page__fromsearch__1 Not only this. Your chosen 'guest name' is "_das_" and the one in the other post is "_me_". The OPs of both posts are 19. But amazingly, one seems to be incredibly poor and the other one quite rich!!! Waheguru!!! Rabb hi Raakha!
  15. Bhaji, have you got a reference for the newspaper that had published such news? Or anybody else?
  16. LOL! vichare...it was supposed to be a threat...I couldn't stop laughing at the rehearsed stage performance :lol2:
  17. The above link is a youtube video of Baba Hari Singh Ji Randhawe wale's katha of 10 stages of Naam. He says the first step is 'Baikhari' which means to say out loud with your mouth. So, basically, whatever you choose to practise or recite, say it out loud. Along with reciting Bani verbally, one should also practise and train themselves to be able to listen carefully to Gurbani. I'm not exactly sure whether it's correct to say that they're 'equally' important...but there's definitely nothing wrong with saying that they're BOTH important.
  18. Dear _me_, Everyone has a purpose on the earth realm. You do too! :smile2: Don't be saddened by outer appearance, false love and attachment or what the society's norms are. Try to start searching for the purpose of your life. Appreciating every little moment of happiness might help you get temporary relief from sadness.
  19. Bhaji/Bhenji, It might sound like I was being harsh or rude, but it wasn't my intention to come across as such. Please forgive me if you've been hurt by what I said. I do not say that Guru Saheb have accepted me alone, but taking Amrit is indeed the only way for "Guru Dhaaran Karna". I did not mean to simply 'throw comments' towards luckysingh99, but really wish to know what his views about Amrit are! Is it merely a ritual? (In that sense I've mentioned matha tekna). Guru Saheb know what was in my heart whilst typing anything that I did. If have ever intended to hurt anyone (knowingly or unknowingly), I will surely have to pay for it. Guru Saheb Kirpa Karan.
  20. Goodness! It won't let me post the Gurbani tuk. Anyways, the quote was: Rang ratta mera sahib rav rahia bharpur ll My Lord and Master is imbued with love; He is totally permeating and pervading all. ||1||Pause||
  21. In Mool Mantar, Akaal Purakh is described as 'Nirvair', as in he hates none or has no enemies. But that could also imply him as being someone totally Neutral. ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ My Lord and Master is imbued with love; He is totally permeating and pervading all. ||1||Pause|| This tuk above states that He is filled with Love. So, theoretically speaking, He loves all. But, to be very honest, I could not find a Quote directly saying that all are loved by Him. I think I'll simply have to ask elders rather than relying upon the internet search engines. :huh2:
  22. Luckysingh99, Bhaji, I was wondering about asking you something. When I had Amrit, for me it was a process of accepting Guru Ji as my spiritual guide and that he's accepted me as his disciple. How do the non-amritdhari know that one they've accepted as their 'Guru',... has also accepted to 'be their Guru'? Also, if taking Amrit is Bahmanism, or in other words a mere ritual, then one could call 'matha tekna' to be a ritual as well. Guru Saheb Kirpa Karan.
  23. Waheguru! Bhaji, you mean to say that to one doesn't need to take Amrit to accept Guru Granth Saheb Ji as our Guru...and to get connected to Naam. Could you please explain the reason for why Guru Saheb asked Their sikhs to take Charn-amrit or Khande baate di Pahul? Waheguru! Waheguru! I wish you could have a bit more kindness towards a stranger like me. Bhaji, I believe that through meditation (without amrit or Gurmantar) one can only reach upto the Dasam Dwaar or Anahad Shabad. But, the journey doesn't end there. There's more to it. Anyways, this is what I believe in. I'd be grateful if you could elaborate more about some non-amritdhari who has attained the highest spiritual awastha and what it is. Waheguru! I do not claim that I have the key to unlock and get access to Naam. Only my Guru has. Also, you're absolutely right about me living in the cuckoo land. I don't know when Guru Saheb will bless me with Their kirpadrishti and help me get out of it. Bhaji, I don't think naam is a 'state'. If you mean about the Swaas Swaas Simran awastha, Waheguru! you're right, I'm not there yet. I wish I could then understand why Guru Saheb decided to bless us with Amrit, if it is simply Brahmanism.
  24. Naam is basically a Name of Akaal Purakh. There is not one but countless names that devotees have named Him according to what they think He does...also known as 'kirtam naam'. When a person accepts a spiritual Guru to be his guide....he is given a Gurmantar. Our Guru has given us the gurmantar - Waheguru. Now, to get the Gurmantar, one has to accept Guru Granth Saheb Ji as their Guru. How does that happen? ----- By getting Amrit. So, step by step --- 1. Take Amrit 2. Accept Guru ji to be your spiritual guide. 3. Get the Gurmantar (which can only be given by the Panj Pyare). 4. Japp Naam EASY PEASY! :D
