Ok..the info in Ency. of Sikhism can be a bit outdated, as it is from 1999. And the Nanakshahi calender was recognized after that. Almost all dates are fixed in the NsC, but Holla Mohalla, Bandi Choor (Divali) and Parkash Guru Nanak Sahib are moveable. This is because Sanatani Sikhs (Sant Samaj, Nihangs, Hazoor Sahib, Patna Sahib etc) don't want that these dates should also be changed in accordance with the NsC.

so before implementing the NsC, all groups came to a comprimise.

so the Holla Mohalla dates will be changing each year (as in the Bikrami calender)

Nope, not a single thing. The only reaon why your Taya may have said it is because it is impolite, and its' not good to talk with your "mouth full." Its' good to discuss things around your dinner table, sometimes that's the only time families get to talk to each other. We do it Punjabi style in my house though, eat whenever you want, and talk whenever you want.

i know i may sound crazy but trust me .............. use coconut conditioner!!! its so wikid for make ur hair thicker and longer!!

it also smells nice!!

and put any type of oil (except cooking oil ) in ur hair if it becomes dry easily, this also makes it easier to detangle knots!!

and dnt hair dry your hair if it is wet!! it ruins it and takes out natural stuff from ur hair!!

1) the other day i went to a wedding between a singh and a muslim girl - which was a wicked wedding - and i found out that he wasn't into sikhi at all, yet she wanted to turn proper religious (sikhi wise) n it worked out for the both of them - which shws that things may turn out for the best!! uv gta find out what her future plan her and where you are going to get married e.g in the Gurdwara as then u kinda know what direction she's heading into life!

also, i read that reciting sukhmani sahib paat evriday can help u get out of looking at websites!!

if u start to look at these websites because u get bored easily on the internet then u shud keep urself occupied so u dnt have anytime to look at such websites, or stay in good sangat all the time so u cant look at the sites!!

there are kirtan classes that have been held there for ages by Bhai Sarwan Singh Ji, he teaches evrithing from tabla to sitar to violin!!!! every tuesday from 6 o'clok!!!

spread the word coz the classes have been going a bit quiet lately ,

its at the masons hill gurdwara (somerfield gurdwara for those who know it well :nihungsmile: )

come along, the prices are £1.00 for children and £2.00 for adults - all of the money goes towards a charity or gurdwara in india!!!

however if they are gupt how r u ment 2 use them in defense??? i know it'll probably protect ur head, but what if u want to use them in combat??

and how are the very small dhurmalle shaster that are tied on to a chakar n that r put thru ur bunga keep u protected?? surely there shud be some sort of spiritual reasoning behind them!
