Well one thing i noticed when I came to Calgary is that they actually have a large box in the Martindale Gurdwara where u can place things like that, and they will do sanskaar for all of them. So if you happen to know some people who might be going to calgary, say this weekend, maybe give it to them?

(A short term solution, I know)

  2. WHY ARE YOU GIVING THIS WOMAN FALSE INFORMATION?!?!?!?!

How are all three of you going to get married at the same time on the same day!!! you must eliminate the other couples in order to have your wedding.

Oh real mature. FYI, it IS possible for 3 couples to get married... sure, its not the norm, but they can happen. Besides that bhenji, I think your choices are obvious... either pick a different date, a different gurdwara, or try to see if you can get married together.

  3. I have to agree with the above, it all depends on what you are studying. If you are into IT then masters degree is useless in areas such as software development where experience is sought after. Degree is good enough to get your foot in the door.

Let us know what your subject is.

Im hoping to do a masters in Pharmaceutical Science. Im just looking for a general guide as to how much it will cost in terms of tution fees.

Well I'm not from the UK (Im from Canada), but I would assume its somewhat similar. For doing a masters program, especially one in a science area such as Pharmacy or Medicine, you may (or may not) have a choice between a course based masters, and a thesis based masters. I recently finished a thesis based masters, which i think are better for several reasons:

    1. You don't really need to apply... you find a professor that is willing to take you, and they will do the necessary paperwork to get you into the program
    2. Instead of paying tuition, you GET PAID. Usually most universities have a guaranteed salary awarded to masters and PhD students, especially those that are doing a thesis based masters. (in my case, it was about $18K a year) In addition, some professors are nice and will in addition to that, pay your tuition as well (in my case, about $5K a year).

But again, these all vary. Your best bet is to send an email to the Department of Pharmacy or whatever that you are interested in, and they will have their graduate student coordinator send you the details. Good luck!

Well try a different style (pointy style vs dumalla) , or different cloth (rubia vs. malmal for example), or sometimes even a different length. Hopefully you can find one that is you!

Another thing to try is tie a patka underneath, and then tie the dastaar on top of it, it might provide enough support to prevent it from slipping or getting lose.

Both. Its all God's will... The underlying laws of God remain constant in either case... If the guy (lets say) stabs the guy, either he lives, or he dies. Either he is injuried slightly, or a lot. He doesn't turn into a frog.

God's will that the universe operates on gives us the realm of possibility of what CAN happen and what CANNOT happen. Beyond that, we make the choice which of those possibilities that we want to entertain, and THAT is our karma.

I'll admit I do it too...but yeah, stealin is stealin... especially considering there ARE free alternatives for mostly everything (especially software) and low cost alternatives for everything else.

Depends on what you define as a soul... If God is in everything and we are just a fraction of God (ie: a soul) then everything has one, right from a single cell to a rock or an apple pie (I'm hungry).

I think you should think of a scientific viewpoint on abortion... For example, we (generally) say that we should not cause pain to another individual for our own pleasure, that includes eating meat (if you want to debate that, go elsewhere, thats not the point). So based on that I like to think that I wont eat, or kill for that matter, anything with a central nervous system, as that can feel pain.

In the fetus, the first evidence of a functional nervous system (reflexes) begin to occur at about 8 1/2 weeks, before that the child is literally a pile of cells without any ability to feel pain or react to nervous stimuli. So maybe your answer should be maybe... before 8 1/2 weeks is ok, beyond that its not.

I just say "Thanks, I appreciate the gesture, but I don't drink!" Usually everyone understands and they don't mind at all. Even if i win it in a raffle I just tell em to throw my name back in and give it to someone else and no one minds.

No, its completely legal! Its sold directly by microsoft for "original equipment manufacturers" (aka: OEM). This means that its sold with hardware. If you buy a new computer, this is the version that is included on the computer, by HP, compaq, Dell, or whatever. There are reasons why its cheaper:

    1. It does not come with "microsoft support". This means that you can't call the Microsoft Tech support if you don't know how to check ur email, or not sure why your mouse isn't working. Of course, no one does call microsoft tech support, so its not that big of a deal.

    2. If you resell the hardware with windows to someone else, its your responsibility to provide tech support, not microsoft. The same way as if someone buys an HP computer, they would call HP for help. Once again, not a big deal.

So OEM versions are completely legit... otherwise why would microsoft sell it? The loss of tech support is a very minor deal, mostly because I don't know ANYONE who's actually called microsoft for tech support! Also technically once u install it, you should not install it on another device. However, just before windows was released microsoft got rid of that little statement because of an uproar on the web, so technically the full version and the OEM versions are identical with regards to their license.

  10. so it works exactly the same was as a full version of lets say XP Pro?

    Waheguroo jee ka Khalsa!

    Waheguroo jee kee Fateh!

Yep! The OEM edition is also in XP home or pro, and for vista in all the different flavors vista is available in. it just means its for a single hardware device.

The OEM version stands for "original equipment manufacturer".. which means that it comes with a piece of hardware. Since its 'tied' to that hardware, that makes it much cheaper.

If you are trying to duel boot, I would suggest going for the OEM version, it will be cheapest. Generally, it will come with a small piece of hardware, like a USB cable or something just to fill the 'legal' responsiblity of it being supplied with the hardware. But its legit, and the cheapest way to go.

Well the prices across the board will likely be very similar for legit stuff... but what you can look for is the version. If you already have a copy of windows 98/2000 or something, go out and get the upgrade version, the price is usually very reasonable. If you want a full fresh copy, go for the OEM version, its meant for original installs on a single machine and is very cheap compared to the "full version"... usually the OEM version can come with a USB cable or something like that as a 'hardware device'.

As for purchasing, I would be hesitant to buy from ebay... because seller ratings wont tell you anything about if the products they sell are legit. Stick with major online dealers or your store. Also, check out your university... if you are a student, the university stores usually have special deals with microsoft for super cheap software, including MS office and windows.

I think that's up to personal choice... there's nothing "wrong" nor nothing "right" about different age gaps (within a reasonable limit, not like decade)... but if both of them are comfortable with an older/younger wife/husband, then that seems to be perfectly fine.

My experience is the best solution is using a simple laptop... musicmatch pro or the free messer program records directly to MP3 files, with the big advantage of allowing you to type in file names on the system so that the files are named appropriately without needing to come back and rename them all later.

I have also used Archos products with a lot of success, especially the Archos jukebox products... it also records directly to mp3, but is a lot harder with naming tracks, and generally you'll be transferring them over to a computer anyways.

Yes its possible, but its a horrible horrible form of advertising. Its one thing for a buisness to spend money to give out advertisements, its quite another to waste your customer's own money, ink, and paper to recieve advertisements that they don't want. That probably won't go over well with them, and will likely make them choose another company rather than your own.

My guess is that it would be to prevent multiple posts, especially automated posting and spam onto the forums (if you have to type in a new code everytime, only those with a real question will take their time to do it).
