or you can install a codec pack which will install probably every codec you will need to play any file type known to man lol. http://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
I use the second one, and it works great... even for realplayer and quicktime files.

I usually use the "Videodownloader" addon for Firefox.
But you can do it directly. Click on the video, and on the right hand side there is a button marked "download". Beside the button, select "for Sony PSP/Ipod" and then click download. It will download it as an mp4 file that you should be able to play.

We can't completely blame the "sikhs" who question their guru for this. In my experience, its because we don't have the answers that even our Gurus had. When our Gurus taught us, they gave us reasons for things that made sense. Now, you ask someone why do sikhs do _____, and you'll get either "I don't know" or "you will go to dharamraj where you will burn for 8.5 million lives if you don't listen to me".
When sikhs who are on the fence hear that, it doesn't exactly help them be more faithful.

Why not? The way a hukamnama is supposed to be taken is to randomly pick a page and read the first pauri that you can find... if you believe that Guru can "direct" you to pick a certain page and thus a certain hukam, so can Guru "direct" the random shabad that is picked as well.

The thing is irrespective of their beliefs and goals, many which I agree with, there have been questionable actions which have earned them the label of a terrorist organization. In Canada, that designation doesn't come easily or without significant cause...
Point being, Nagar keertans are the way that the sikh community, especially with Surrey which arguable is MORE sikh than the other ones, to showcase sikhism to the people. It draws cameras, media coverage, people come out of their houses to see and watch and wonder. We use it as a tool to educate, enlighten, and inform others about sikhism. When people go out and see guns and pictures of people in the paper and then go back to the news and see relationships with terrorist organizations, it doesn't bode well for us.
I agree with you somewhat, but what i'm saying is that a nagar keertan is to showcase our image, and we MUST try to keep that as positive as possible.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me that much. A while ago at this conference thingy we had, the audience was asked a question: How many of you know the difference between a sikh and a punjabi (just a show of hands)...
I almost fell over: out of 150 people in the room, less than 10 put up their hands! These people have no CLUE what a sikh is, or what 'punjabi' is, but they're all soo keen to call themselves both.

What i think is stupid is that these people are running around with logos of Babbar Khalsa and ISYF: both which are considered terrorist organizations in Canada. There is a reason that they have been put there, and it is wrong, as sikhs in Canada, to promote those organizations.

Yeah, that's XP with a bunch of addons... make sure that he first goes to windows updates and downloads all of the .NET frameworks that are available there, they are probably under the "optional downloads". Those are needed for STTM.
Then redownload the installation file from http://download.waheguroo.com, and try it again.

All people, sikhs or not, in order to "become" a part of the Khalsa, take Amrit at an Amrit Sanchaar. No one is born a sikh, and so it is something that one actively has to do to become.
If you are not interested in that goal, then there are no rules or rituals... just pick up the Guru Granth Sahib and read... and try to understand and follow its teachings. That alone makes one a student, or sikh of the guru.

its a mini sikh caste system, where the castes are amritdhari and non amritdhari. Where they cannot look at each other talk to each other Amritdharis are always held above non amritdharis and they cant eat with each other and or share a meal together. there goes our gurus teachings on caste out the window!

Wrong. You are BORN into a caste: and you can't change it. ANYONE who wants can take amrit. Its only discrimination if one group is barred completely, and its the choice of the non-amritdharis if they want to become Khalsa.

Irrespective of the "original reason", now its just a cultural thing. Strictly to sikhi, there is no need nor requirement to have the guy leading the girl around in lavans... they can go side by side, or alternate if they want. Of course that will just "make trouble for the establishment", but that's life :umm:

Umm.. i don't know why you interpreted it that way:
It sounds like the lawyer was questioning the guy who sees EVERYONE but those who subscribe to his beliefs as "non-believers". That includes Hindus, muslims, sikhs, buddhists, jews, ...
In fact, by posing the question that way, he reenforces the fact that this guy is crazy and believes that everyone is a non-believer besides fanatics like himself. I don't think it was meant to impact sikhs or any of the other listed faiths in that way.

That is weird and rare. That means that (usually) a single program has frozen and is sucking up memory like crazy.
Just press Control-Alt-Delete and click on the "processes" tab. Then click on the "Memory" list and it should order itself. The thing that's using the most memory, find out what it is... that is what is sucking your memory!
If its frozen, just kill it... and if it happens lots, get rid of that program.

haha I can back it up. Mac's work better, break down less, and their os's don't cost half a pc to buy. Considering the fact that microsoft has gone on record saying that they're going to be updating their windows more frequently (say once every 5 or 6 years), it's going to get more costly. Don't forget that only a small percentage of people can handle the ultimate version sandy recommended before. Upgrade your ram, graphics card, cpu if ur too far back, and you're looking at a pretty steep price in addition to the 500 odd dollars you're paying for vista. And believe me when I say that you aren't going to throw out your mac that quickly. Unless you're gonna swap out your graphics card every other month to get bleeding edge graphics that are utterly useless, the best choice for the mainstream is a mac :umm: . And don't forget that it's the pc of choice for many a gursikh (you can ask sandy about that one :cool: )

I agree w/ you, Ultimate is a wee bit pricey compared to OSX. But considering that you can get a wicked top of the line PC for under $1500 CDN, and a cheap one for as low as $400, all brand new, all using Vista Premium or ultimate. Also, check with your local university, the education discounts are phenominal. I just saw @ my uni Vista Ultimate for $113. That's cheaper than OSX btw!

Yeah, there is a manual eject that u can access by pushing a long pin/straightened paperclip into the hole beside the eject button. That will force the DVD-ROM drive to open.
