which r the popular shabads recited on vaisakhi in gurudwaras... for example.... one is "naasro manzoor , guru gobind singh..." if possible audio plzzzzz!!!!!!

ego???? :cool: @ i know its even wrong to think but.... y is it that the aim of life is to remember and meditate on Him??? like a person can be good at heart....say that he never say lies...stands for truth and justice...always help other ppl...like all good moral ethics in him... but he doesnt remember GOD !!!...so all useless why????...y GOD wants us to remember Him every breath.... **************************************************** secondly... if a person beleives in GOD....but he is not a sikh....like say mr.x is a very pious person but a strict hindu....he does no evil things similarly mr.y is a strict muslim..but very pious.... my question is that sikhi says no religion is wrong ....all r different paths to GOD....if followed by heart..... but then hinduism beleives caste system, fasts.....similarly islam beleives all other religions are kufar(not true), beleives in fast too....etc etc.... so that contradicts sikhi.... hence a true muslim according to koran....a true hindu according to geeta...a true jew ..a true christian..etc etc.....can never reach god????? no matter how much pious they r at heart ???? just my general feeling!!!!!

thx for the replies..... i wrote to him whtevr input i got from u all.... haah..at the end he was still not convinced....he said guru ji wasn't even able to defeat a local governor wazir khan...he wasn't able to avenge the death of his father...how wud he be able to fight with empror...shivaji fought directly..to free hindutva.. and i was like :wub: @ so thats it i thought .... "moorkh naal na uljhaiye" <_< thx again....i m pretty sure that these marathas were defeated by abdali but this abdali used to be get a$$ kicked by the sikhs of those times....though i didnt tell him(otherwise i wud have read more beadbi of guruji)!!!

WJKK WJKF i was debating with some guy on a forum....and he said shivaji and marathas were better than sikhs....i wont be giving that post cuz he said a lot against the sikhs and really beleived that marathas were grrt..... i respect marathas but when compared to kalgidhar walay...they stand no where ... he said like guru ji never had a kingdom...he fought with bahadur shah zafar..even when mughals did so much bad...marathas keep fighting with brits..but ranjit singh just formed truce... like he wrote so much ...i dont even wanna post all i need is some good answer to bash him up and infuse some knowledge.. and close the topic!!

WJKK WJKF personally wht i feel is that sex before marriage is a NO in sikhi (infact any other religion too)....guru ji said KAAM is one of the five evils..... but they have to be used only at right time ..like krodh for defending religion or punishing the tyrants......similarly kaam after marriage... these days speacially and that too around 20s ...kaam is a big nuisance....always a hindrance...i beleive if i can control kaam....rest will be smoothened out.... contraception (umm...i m still young never thought much abt it)..well if sex is after marriage ....then whts the need..1 or 2 kids and thats it....back to the primal duty of naam.....there's a very nice kathaa by sant maskeen singh ji on kaam in proudtobesikh.com....i hope everyone will find an answer thre... anywys nice topic...aaargh i try so much to avoid kaaam ..its everywhre but whtever it is ...i feel if a person does simran and nitnem daily with heart ..guru ji aape sab theek kar dende haan!!!

ok ji.....i need it by vaisakhi i dont mean just the speech on creation of khalsa...but on importance of vaisakhi....i heard one kathaa by bhai pinderpal singh ji.... and he told many incidents that happend right from guru nanak's time till the british raaj on vaisakhi.....he told the importance of vaisakhi(y kalgidhar waale chose vaisakhi)... anywys something like that...either i need some articles ..or kathaas.... i gonna do a speech as the newfoundland sikh society is celebrating vaisakhi on 17th.... :T: :T:

rehitnama...explains the sikh's code of conduct how shld a sikh live his life like a gursikh rehitnamas were written by gurus and many gursikhs of that time anywys...to be more precise....there r more members (experience in sikhi) in this forum... have patience...i guess they will give u whts exactly a rehitnama!!

WJKK WJKF <_< whoa , i came frm india to newfoundland, canada in 2002.....just after my 12th grade.....my family is not very much into sikhi....so i never cared much abt sikhi back home...] when i came here ..i was like yipee now i shld be cut shut and be modern...more girls , more fun but a website changed me......that was saintsoldiers.net.......really as i browsed thru it ....i was feeling guilty as i was going to kill such a proud heritage of sikhi... thats it.....now i never even think of cutting hair...bird watchig , party, drinkin...baah now i kicked that all...now i know this is all mirage!! started doin nitnem.....though my family never taught me much abt sikh history ...but now my mom feels happy that i m following sikhi(i dunno y...but its gud) hopefully ...as soon as i go back home in india... i wud give my head to guruji...i m still 20 and wanna join the brotherhood!!! :T: :T:

WJKK WJKF i have no doubt that guru teg bahadur ji ever used a sword....he was master ...as i have listened in kathaa vichaars that he told the executioner that his name is tegh bahadur and he knows how to use, as well as, face the sword bravely!!! not even an iota is ever mentioned (i read many saakhis...but like in hargobind's and harrai's saakhi its mentioned regularly that ppl were amazed by seeing the roop of saint soldier....its nowhere mentioned neither in pics nor in stories that 8th and 9th guru had sant sipahi outlook!!!) all i wanna know whether 8th and 9th guru used to carry kirpaan with them or not???? :T:

WJKK WJKF one quick question..... i guess Guru Hargobind Ji instructed the sikhs to wear swords and practice martial arts(not the kungfu one ) thats y we see guru Harrai ji with swords ...but i never saw a pic where guru Harkrishan ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur ji carrying swords or kirpaan (though i have heard in kathaas that the 9th guru used the tegh(sword)while in one of the battles of 6th guru) so, did 6th guru really instructed the sikhs to be armed ????????

thx harpal for ure pm... so guru gobind singh ji never started any panth (like sevapanthi, nirmalpanthi, etc) except the khalsa panth??
