4 Prisoners Raise Pro-Khalistan Slogans in Court

Four jail inmates from Punjab today raised pro-Khalistan slogans after they were produced in a local court in connection with a blast incident here.

A team of Punjab Police had brought the four accused here from Punjab's Nabha Jail for the hearing of the case in the court of District and Sessions Judge Navita Singh.

After the four -- Manjinder Singh, Gurjant Singh, Harwinder Singh and Jaswinder Singh -- came out from the court they started raising slogans in support of Khalistan (Separate Sikh homeland).

Following the incident, police caught hold of them and took them away for interrogation.

The accused, all residents of Punjab, are facing charges under explosive act for their alleged involvement in a bast at a BSNL telephone pillar here on April 13, 2010.

Gurfateh, U r doing nice job my request u to pursue the serious case of Shingar bomb blast case I did talk to my friend in the city who has full of praise for Bhai harminder Singh lawyer Brijinder Singh loomba who has strenthened the defence of the case by putting up some evidence that device used in ludhiana is the same as used in other blasts in India by hindu terorrist groups.Most importantly without proper finacial support that pareticular lawyer is preparing a good defence with the good coordination of local lawyers in the case.If convicted singhs can be given death sentence for which they never did.A lawyer told me unlike in the past now courts go by technical evidence for which brijinder Singh is quite expert as he is fighting the uranium leakage case also unlike socalled big lawyers. I also request ur organisation to give full support to leader of defence brijinder singh full support.My friend who is also lawyer told me due to police pressure and less paying capacity of relatives of singhs none of the lawyer wanted to defend Bhai Harminder Singh in case .So I request u to enage lawyer with integrity not to put on reliance on so called human right groups who fools singhs out side India. Fine people of punjab may not agree with ppp, but that should not stop them to elect fiscal educated and revolunary leaders from punjab or abroad who can come in punjab and live there and form an 4th party for future election. What's worrisome as well, sikhs living abroad who are proficient in economics and history of punjab are not considering to go back to punjab to run in punjab elections yet have no problem coming up with articles, giving all sorts of advise hoping it will resolve punjab issues by sitting on arm chair comfortably at home.

I really wish i was educated in economics or have the potential in me to run for punjab elections.

Throughout history, the purpose of history and historians has changed. In the olden days, most historians were heavily biased in favour of their own community in order to make their community seem bigger, better, braver and more successful than what they really are. This is called over-glorification.

However, in modern times, the emphasis has now changed. Historians are not interested in one sided, biased history that only shows the good sides to a community and completely ignores the bad. Most historians today try to approach a subject as a neutral observer and weigh up both the good and the bad. They will still quote their own community. However, they will also quote their enemies and other neutral parties in order to get a balanced view of history.

You see the danger with what people such as yourself do, is that you only look at the good and positive attributes of our community. However, in order to make improvements in our own lives and to allow our kaum to progress, we must also focus on the negatives. We should be honest with ourselves and honest with our history. If we cant find anything wrong with ourselves and/or our history, then we are really not looking hard enough. The greatest learnings take place when we acknowledge the negatives, learn from them and attempt to improve this for the future, so that repeated mistakes are not made.
