  1. Throughout the years there has been problems here and there in our Panth ranging from different areas that affect the Panth as a whole. The Punj Pyare court system isn't a new brought up idea but why don't Sikh gurdwaras/councils/organizations take it into consideration? I have heard so many times Sikhs talking about it but don't push it first in their agenda. We really need to push for a punj pyare to govern gurdwaras in a country. This has to be one of the top ideas all Sikhs should be pushing forward in the coming years. The benefit of having a punj pyare system will solve many issues that are revolving in our Panth. It has to happen and it will help stabilize the Panth. Questions to ask ourselves: 1) Can different groups AKJ, Taksali, Nihungs.. come to together and make an agreement to set up the punj pyare regardless of differences? 2) Who will be against this decision that the Panth will have trouble with(gw committees, jathas?)

  3. BREAKING: DHUMMA SAYS DAMDAMI TAKSAL WILL NOT ATTEND SARBAT KHALSA AMRITSAR: Prominent seminary Damdami Taksal has decided not to participate in the Sarbat Khalsa convened by various Sikh religious and political bodies on November 10 in Amritsar. Going by the aspirations of a majority of common Sikhs and religious bodies, the Taksal has demanded removal of jathedars of Takhts, who are its former students, and at the same time it has refused to extend support to Sarbat Khalsa. Talking to TOI , Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa said, We are not participating in the Sarbat Khalsa. He said the time was not apt for convening Sarbat Khalsa, but to bring unity among various factions within Sikh groups and hold serious deliberations on restoring the pride of Guru Granth Sahib that was hurt due to acts of sacrilege by anti-social elements. First of all we have to resolve these issues and then Sarbat Khalsa can be convened, he said. On the other hand, extending support to Sarbat Khalsa, Panthic Sewa Lehar founder Baljeet Singh Daduwal said, Sarbat Khalsa is the voice of conscience of common Sikhs aimed at creating unity among them and to reach at a consensus on religious issues, including deciding the area of jurisdiction of Sikh priests, their selection and removal norms, besides discussing on the issues being faced by Panth. Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) general secretary Jarnail Singh Sakhira said, Yes, there is a clear divide between saints. One side of Sikh saints is independent and enjoys support of the Panth while another is pro SAD (Badal). SAD (Amritsar) is one among several groups that have given call for Sarbat Khalsa. Sakhira said all Sikh organizations, which had given call for Sarbat Khalsa, would meet at Jalandhar on Saturday and from Sunday onwards preparations to hold the congregation near Baba Naudh Singh Samadh on Tarn Taran road would begin. He said prominent Sikhs saints and groups, including Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala, Panth Preet Singh, Ranjit Singh, Damdami Taksal (Ajnala faction) and Darshan Singh were part of Sarbat Khalsa while Khalsa-led Gurmat Sidhant Parcharak Sant Samaj opposed the congregation. Sikh think-tank Kuldeep Singh said, Sarbat Khalsa will see a vertical split between Sant Samaj, which will be unfortunate. He said Sikh intellectuals, saints and academics shouldnt be taking sides but maintain a neutral gesture in the society. This kind of Sarbat Khalsa, which has already divided community will not solve any purpose and rather further deepen the religious crisis, he said. http://dailysikhupdates.com/breaking-dhumma-says-damdami-taksal-will-not-attend-sarbat-khalsa/
  4. I feel as if there is a lot of tension in the panth at the moment. With Bapu Surat Singh Jee's hunger strike, Jathedars pardon Ram Rahim, Sarbat Khalsa, etc. I have a feeling something big in Sikh History will take place very soon. I think we have reached a sort of boiling point. Does anyone else feel the same as I do? Or is it just me? These recent events have sort of given me a change in energy and mood whenever I hear any news.
  5. We always say "Nanak naam chardikala, tere bhaane sarbat da bhala". We just say it, but never pay attention to what it really means. Obviously it has more than one and deep meaning. Everyone according to their level conceives it. "Nanak Naam Chardikala" - Guru Nanak Sahib ji ne jehra naam/shabad dita hai "waheguru" ya jiwein aapan kehnde han "Dhan Guru Nanak Tuhin Nirankar", onu japan de naal hamesha chardikala rehndi hai, kyonki "waheguru" naam ta aap chardikala da saroop hai ate saareya nu chardikala bakhshan wala hai. "Tere Bhaane sarbat da bhala"- sareeyan da bhala howe, par howe tere bhaane vich, teri raza vich, jiwein tu chaunda hai. Bhul chuk maaf Sanagat please share views.
