I know a couple who had a similar problem. Every now n then they take a Break ! Weekend getaways are good way to escape, relax & detox. You can visit Amritsar, Hazoor Sahib, Anandpur Sahib even Hemkunt Sahib. Double income no kids is the best time to enjoy life so stop worrying & book a holiday.

THE Sikh community of Darwin is seeking to build its first temple in the Top End. Darwin Sikh Communitys former president Gurinder Singh said the community had already been provided land at 8 Earhart Court, in Marrara, and was now raising $400,000 from members to fund a cyclone-standard centre to host prayer, information events and nights to provide food to the hungry. Sikhism was founded in north India in the 15th century. There are around 250 Sikhs in the Top End and for the 31 years theyve been part of the Darwin community, theyve never had a temple in which to practise their religion. Instead, theyve borrowed space from the Greek Orthodox Church, and held sessions at each others houses. This is the only city in Australia that doesnt have a temple, Mr Singh said. We bring all of our things from peoples houses and set it up, its just a hassle. Mr Singh hopes a new temple will allow for those who arent Sikh to learn more about the community. It will also give Sikh children a place where they can learn about their religion and their language Punjabi. Kids can come from different schools so it brings awareness about Sikhs, Mr Singh said. Who are Sikhs? Why do they not cut their hair? If you do not provide that knowledge, its not fair. The community has already raised $200,000, and is asking its members to contribute $1000 per family. Mr Singh said the Sikh religion required its members to give 10 per cent of their income to charity. The Darwin Sikh community is also receiving help from national and international Sikh communities.
