  1. There are mainly two school of thought. First believes that everything (good or bad) is God's will. To the God-conscious being, friend and foe are the same. Second believes Good is done by God & Bad by Satan. They are crusaders who fight against abuse or evil (SantSipahis). Now majority are selfish, neither Brahmgianis nor SantSipahis. If you really think they are sinners then why do you accept their food, clothes & lodging ? If you see them going to hell, then do not accept charitable gifts from them. The giver goes to hell, while the receiver goes to heaven - look at this injustice. You do not understand your own self, but you preach to other people. 2. Deal or No Deal crowns 7th £250,000 jackpot winner By Tom Eames Wednesday, Feb 12 2014, 17:00 GMT Deal or No Deal crowned its seventh quarter-millionaire today (February 12). Roop Singh became only the second male contestant to take home £250,000 on the Channel 4 game show. The 54-year-old carried on all the way to the end of the game, despite having just £5, £100, £500, £1,000 and the £250,000 jackpot as his last five boxes. An added twist of a 23rd box almost saw the Sikh lay priest take home £500,000. Singh said of his win: "The night before my game my daughter quite innocently said, 'Dad, I want confetti'. When I was offered £46k all I could think of was, 'Dad, I want confetti' and I said, 'No Deal'. "I still cannot fully remember what happened next but I do remember the confetti and everyone hugging and congratulating me." In the first five rounds, the Banker's highest offer was £10,000, and Singh later turned down £46,000. The final two boxes were the jackpot and £500, with host Noel Edmonds revealing that Roop had won the grand prize. He was then offered the chance to select an additional box that could have enabled him to double his winnings, claim an additional £10,000, get his money back, halve his winnings or win nothing. However, his family persuaded him to leave the boxes alone. Edmonds later revealed that he would have doubled his winnings had he bought his chosen box. Since his victory, Singh has bought several presents for his friends and family and a bike for himself. He also plans to donate money to his supported charities. 8. Sikh community bring down monument ‘for the sake of peace’ in Kisumu Updated Sunday, February 9th 2014 at 16:27 GMT +3 By RUSHDIE OUDIA KISUMU, KENYA: The controversial Sikh monument in Kisumu County has finally been brought down. The Sikh community removed the statue that saw former Prime Minister Raila Odinga booed in his home turf, due to pressure from the locals. They said this was for the sake of peace in the Lakeside City that they have decided to bring the monument down. The statue was brought down Sunday morning amidst tight security along Mosque Road as residents including faithfuls from the Sikh community watched. One of the Sikh Sheikhs, Bilayi Singh said they will in turn build a water fountain that will be availed during their celebration of 100 years of existence of the Siri Guru Singh Sabha temple. The event is slated for February 28 to March 9. “For the sake of peace we are bringing it down, we hope that we would have constructed a water fountain before the end of February,” said Mr Singh. He said the Sikh community worships one God and not devil worship, adding that the public is invited for the celebrations where there will be plenty of food and free medical care in the nine clinics next to the temple. Members of Repentance and Holiness Ministry were the first people to protest against the statue terming it idol worship in the city. The former PM also faced the wrath of the people on Saturday when he went to quell tension brought by the erection of the statue in town, forcing him to cut down his speech. The residents claimed that the sculptures of Kenyan heroes were the only ones welcomed in the town. Earlier, Raila held a closed door meeting with religious leaders in a temple to avert a looming religious conflict in the town. Executive Committee member for Physical Planning, Engineer Vincent K’odera confirmed that the county had approved a water fountain. He however said that the breaching of that agreement by erecting a statue led to the bringing down of the monument. Faithful friends group in Forest Gate seeks to bring society together Adam Barnett, Reporter Thursday, February 6, 2014 1:00 PM A forum bringing together different religions in Forest Gate is planning its community work for this year. Religion in Newham 40 per cent Christian 32 per cent Muslim 9.5 per cent other 8.8 per cent Hindu 6.4 per cent no religion 2.1 per cent Sikh 1.1 per cent Jewish 0.8 per cent Buddhist Source: Office of National Statistics Census 2011 Faithful Friends was set up in 2007 and is led by faith leaders from more than seven religious communities. The group meets regularly to address issues that affect the lives of residents, with Methodists, Baptists, Catholics, Sikhs, Hindus and both Sunni and Shia Muslims all involved. The Rev Dr Chigor Chike, of Emmanuel Church, Forest Gate, said: The idea is to promote friendship between people of different faiths, and none, in Forest Gate. Last year, we focused on health and the environment what the different faiths have to say on those issues. First we looked at it from a secular angle by speaking to experts, with somebody from the National Health Service coming to speak to us about health. Then we explored this from the different religious perspectives. Dr Chike said the forum shares ideas to improve inter-religious understanding and inform the leaders work within communities This year, the forum plans to look at the importance of family in modern society, working with young people, caring for the elderly and the effects of faith schools on society. The issues are important in themselves, said Dr Chike. For example, talking about health. Thats an important issue, and then taking that into the different religious centres thats affecting peoples lives. He added: Sometimes faiths can appear as if theyre in competition. We see quite a lot of images of terrorism and so on. Its good and important that theres a positive message of people of different faiths Christian, Muslim, Sikh working together. The forums next meeting is on Monday.
