  2. Why don't you guys start a human rights campaign in Punjab and rest of India. or is your freedom movement restricted to getting khalistan only. pictures from Bihar (1st) and Delhi (3rd) Mumbai (biharis being chased out in 2nd pic) Bihar (4th)
  3. Punjabis, esp. Sikhs, have made a lot of contributions to society they live in. What have the bhaiyas contributed? except spreading aids and stds. These guys have no knack for life. Although they work like a bull all day.
  4. Daily Ajit 16 july Migrant Labours (Bhaiya from Bihar U.P) beat up and do beadbi of Keshas of an amritdhari boy in Khanna, near Ludhiana, Punjab. Manpreet singh, student in 9th class and son of Punjab State Electricity Board member Rajpal Singh, was taken away forcibly by the labourers into fields and badly beaten up. He said he was beaten by sticks and rods and the attackers cut his hair. They abused him and punched him which caused him to faint. Upon receiving information about the incident his parents took him to civil hospital Khanna. His father said that a Bihari labourer named Raju, who lived in quarters constructed by the former on rent , was turned out because he refused to pay the rent. Raju then took this step to take revenge with help of his friends. Native leaders are demanding action. There is Bhaiyas everywhere in ludhiana, these guys need to be tamed or they will get out of hand.
  5. Who is going to be pronounced guilty? Did not Didar Singh Bains head WSO at one time? He had said in an interview that WSO first raised the demand for Khalistan at the bidding of then prime minister of india, Indira Gandhi.
  6. Sarna is a joke! His pants are longer than his torso  There is an old adjective used in punjab for Akalis since the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh; akali akalon khali :D SAD (B) is going with facist BJP, against manmohan singh.
  7. Damdami Taksal is at Chowk Mehta. 40kms from Amritsar. It falls halfway between Jallandhar and Amritsar, near a town Beas, from where a road diverts to town Mehta where taksal is located. 15 kms from Taksal is Batala, where gurdwara Kand Sahib is located. Inside the gurdwara is 500 year old wall under which Guru Nanak sat when he came to wed mata sulakhni. You might also want to visit Hazoor Sahib, where preparations for Gurgaddi diwas are in full swing, but don't go by road, take plane or travel by train to hazoor sahib.
  8. This is not Gurdwara but a forum! they don't serve langar here. :D
  9. The unique identity was given by Guru Gobind Singh not Singh Sabha.

  11. Religious or tourist?
  12. Raju, i wish i become SANTA CLAUS and land on your door on christmas!
  13. firstly, i don;t know why aliens would use the sikh term, when their could be any number of universall terms used. maybe on some planets, the sentient beings don't divide themselves between sikhs and non-sikhs? What i meant was that there might be followers of Guru Nanak's teachings other than on earth. Guru Nanak did travel beyond earth so why would he not have Sikhs or Nanak Panthis in universe. We all know what to say when there is an alien invasion or when we meet an alien - Guru Nanak ! - they would be familier with this word.
  14. Slander me, slander me - go ahead, people, and slander me. Slander is pleasing to the Lord's humble servant. Slander is my father, slander is my mother. ||1||Pause|| If I am slandered, I go to heaven; the wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within my mind. If my heart is pure, and I am slandered, then the slanderer washes my clothes. ||1|| One who slanders me is my friend; the slanderer is in my thoughts. The slanderer is the one who prevents me from being slandered. The slanderer wishes me long life. ||2|| I have love and affection for the slanderer. Slander is my salvation. Slander is the best thing for servant Kabeer. The slanderer is drowned, while I am carried across. ||3||20||71|| Gauree: Wandering through 8.4 million incarnations, Krishna's father Nand was totally exhausted. Because of his devotion, Krishna was incarnated in his home; how great was the good fortune of this poor man! ||1|| You say that Krishna was Nand's son, but whose son was Nand himself? When there was no earth or ether or the ten directions, where was this Nand then? ||1||Pause|| He does not fall into misfortune, and He does not take birth; His Name is the Immaculate Lord. Kabeer's Lord is such a Lord and Master, who has no mother or father. ||2||19||70||
  15. There is nothing wrong in interpreting Guru according to their own faith, as long as they don't try to tell others that the Gurus themselves were wrong and 'their' interpretation is infact the right one. It is like saying; hey look, what you think is right, but not correct and your guru wasn't living for you but for us. He was only giving you the 'original difficult to understand meassge' in a 'simpler way'. How did jesus interpret himself? He did not. So, people can interpret him as they like. But not Gurus, they clearly wrote the way they are to be interpreted through sggs. This is not existential crisis.
  16. Raju, it is not wrong to be a Hindu , in the same way that it is not wrong to be an Atheist. This board, i feel, like sikhi caters to all kind of people, from whatever background. But occassionaly you will come across certain types of posts that try to trace Sikhi to Sanatan Dharma (hinduism) and put Gurus at par with 'avtaars' (demi gods). These type of posts come from people with 'certain background' that want to undermine people from 'other backgrounds'. That creates problems. Every sikh respects each and every religion, equally and not preferentially. And nor should he balk from speaking plain truth even if people from 'certain background' take offence.
  17. looks like you don't have 'sikh background' either. And you love 'mysticism' not 'sikhi'. As for bhai gurdas vaaran, it is not 'gurbani'. I will take what guru sahib said and not what his disciples thought ,i will use them for increasing knowledge but not to get influenced.
  18. acha sachi? i didnt know there was no avtar of vahiguroo. why don't you tell us the concept of sargun/nirgun in gurbani? why don't you tell arths of following gurbani tuks from sri guru granth sahib ji, sri dasam patsah bachans, bhai gurdas ji varan: Jab Jab Arsat Hot Sansara || Tab Tab Deh Dharat Avtara (Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ) Sargun Nirgun Nirankar Sun Smadhi aap apie kiya nanaka apie fer jaap (Shalok from Sukhmani sahib 21st asthpadi) Jag Jag Satgur Dharie Avatari || (Bhai Gurdas Ji varr) who in the flipping hell talking about muhammed sahib now? stick to your statement which you claimed- there is no avtar of vahiguroo. I know people like you who have 'hindu background' and who hate Muslims esp. Muhammed. Where is it stated that Krishna (debaucher) was pooran guru avtaar of vahiguru.
  19. Having 'more than one wife' and having 'multiple wives' is different. Having more than one wife is not bad. It was only in 20th century that it became a social burden as ordinary man neither has the vitality or the means to keep two wives. All important persons before 1900 had two, three, four or ten wives. Today there are multiple divorces and subsequent marriages in the West. Is it not more than one wives. Only in middle ages they did not divorce. If 'Draupadi' can have five husbands why cannot a man have more than one wife. Is it a crime? , infact it was a charity in middle ages, to feed and keep happy someones daughter (we all know the condition of women in middle ages).
  20. Guruji did not have 'multiple wives'. He had maybe two or three wives (exact historicity disputed and not well known or documented). He contracted second marriage because the first failed to produce an offspring for many years. I think you are one of those who think that Guru Har Rai had 'six' wives. I said what 'Mahabharta' says, 'krishna' frolicked with radha and gopis without marrying them. It was not a taboo then and not even today, but perhaps, it is for some medieval minds enclosed in shell. There is no 'avtaar' of vahiguru. Was Muhammed a pooran guru avtaar of vahiguru?
  21. i disagree, we should know so that we can then see which organisations that came about british times have lost khalsa traditions. Organisations that lack lineage to Guru Gobind Singh jis times may well be giving amrit in strange or different ways, although they may be "panthic"? What organisations! There is only one official organisation and that is SGPC. Any other organisation , whatever, is not 'panthic'. Can you tell me which organisations trace their lineage to Guru Gobind Singh. :D And remember majority of Sikh literature written , post 1708 till SGPC, had personal trends in historical facts, the works were not free from the writer's prejudice (no matter how much respected).
  22. Krishna was cool. He was a player!
  23. Maybe they were Sikhs who got confused! :6
  24. Why is it that 'plain speaking' is seen as 'hateful'. How can you judge something [my version of tyranny] which you have not seen or experienced. Maybe i will re-define the word 'tyranny' and make it something that this world has not seen before and make everyone want to be 'tyrannised'. Nuclear energy can be both 'desructive' and 'productive', depends on how you use it. Same with power, it can be used to 'chaste the oppressor' or 'protect the innocent'.
