  1. I believe S1ngh Ji is more or less right in his definitions of Ekta. It's true though that having Ekta doesn't necessarily mean that everyone agrees on everything and does the same - that would just be boring! We have to respect each other for who we are, as long as we all believe in the same thing, the one thing that always has been 'Ek', and for that matter always will be, Akaal Purakh. Then the Ekta our community shared would become untouchable. Unfortunately there's too much friction, rooting mainly on an individual basis before it spreads through an organisation, that won't at the moment allow us to achieve Ekta. It's a power struggle - some seem to define Ekta as "finish them, then there is only us, hence we have ekta"... I tend to disagree, Ekta is when you include everyone and consider all equal. I, for one, believe it can and will come. Before I die I hope! Lol, that's my worthless contribution...
  2. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Also more on akji.org, particularly under UK Kirtan, Northampton, Manchester and Hounslow... Enjoy!
  3. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Alcohol is just as big a killer as most other (illegal) drugs out there (can't think of the death figures off the top of my head). It is esy to get addicted to it, you don't have to drink to excess to be addicted. You can live a 'normal' life without even realising you have an addiction - and yet it remains legal and socially accepted. This is one of the reasons a Gursikh does not go near such an evil. As for the orginal question, well where did veer AmaN hear that people were able to consume alcohol and remain 100% sober? Is the source reliable? Remember, our bodies are different, different people react differently to different levels of alcohol in their system. Secondly, what would you define as 100% sober? How could one ever prove that someone who has consumed alcohol is as sober as they were before? Alcohol kills brain cells, why would anyone want to do that? I think your fishing in a fish-less pond here! Hope this gives some insight into it for you. For my ignorance, please forgive me. As for addictions, check this...
  4. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I'm sorry to hear that folks! But don't despair, keep the faith! Trust in him as well as yourself to get yourself through whatever <admin-profanity filter activated> life throws your way! Do Ardas, in the meantime I will too  )))) Hope it all works out for you, I'm sure it will!
  5. some more pics + kirtan also on www.akji.org Enjoy! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  6. Veers? Invisible?? No one knows where they're from??? They must be Shaheeds :WW: Save me from my sins! :WW:
  7. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Khalsa 04 ji, if you've been dismissed for work as you describe, you have a strong case. I would recommend you try and get in touch with a solicitor or seek advice from another appropriate person because surely, if I am not mistaken, this would be against the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000. I'm not sure how or if religion comes into it but nevertheless, you have been discriminated against and it needs to be addressed.
  8. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! No Kirtan Lover ji. Some of the facts that have been stated have been what you or other individual consider or believe to be facts. When I say personal vendetta, I mean YOUR private agenda to undermine the name of akji. FACT is, akji has no status and wishes to have no status. We just do seva of kirtan wherever and whenever Guru Ji blesses us. As for leamington spa Gurdwara, well that is an internal matter for the organiser's of the smagam to deal with and believe you-me it will be addressed as appropriate. We have not and will not ever stop anyone from doing kirtan. The sangat, wherever they are, deserves However, if beadbi of Maharaj is done then we will address it if we are in a position to do so. If any of us have any shame then we will move this thread away from attacking each other and aim for solidarity and unity, especially with regards to dealing with the matters at hand. Whether all of us have the capacity to do so remains to be seen. Yes, look at the state of akji. But if you really cared, you'd do Ardas for us too. Goodnight everyone! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  9. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Kirtan lover ji, you keep going on about what this post is about etc, akji has been dragged into it by individuals such as yourself. This thread was originally about the committee of the Gurdwara Sahib in Leamington Spa. How it became so warped my brain just cannot comprehend. Anyway, benti to all to go back to the topic or abandon this thread altogether. If you have issues with akji, or any of the sevadaars, please contact them direct. They will be happy to respond. A public forum is not the place to implement your personal vendetta's. If I do wrong, if I say wrong - slander me if you so wish, but please also do Ardas for me, that Guru Ji may bless me with Gurmatt also. In search...
  10. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Thank you!
  11. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I do not see where you get your logic from. If we, as Sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh, boycott a Gurdwara... what kinda' manmatt is that? You say it's all about £££££ for them, well if no one went to the Gurdwara they'd just find other ways to earn £££££ (i.e. parties instead of smagams - which apparently they already do..). My point is, you can't boycott a place where Partakh Satguru, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is throned. However, I agree that if there are issues, the sangat must take the necessary steps to resolve them. Forgive my ignorance.
  12. May Guru Ji bless you with the gift of all gifts!! Happy Birthday :HP:
  13. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Not just West London! All over the World I should imagine! Panjabi weddings - a joke! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  14. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Gurjeet jee, thank you so much for your warm heartfelt words. On behalf of all those who attended from England, I would like to extend our thanks to all the sangat in Copenhagen, Denmark (or Danmark as its spelt there!) for giving us the opportunity to join in them in celebrating the 400th Parkash Divas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we are indebted to the sevadaars and sangat for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. We look forward to seeing the Danish sangat again in the future. Please continue to bless us with more such opportunities…… PS – The recordings/pics will be up on akji.org during this week, we’ll keep you posted! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
