  1. I'll post this, but i won't post a link because i had previously posted this and it was deleted for some reason. Nature has a beautiful arrangement: with each death, a thick layer of forgetfulness comes over your memories. You are carrying all the memories of all your lives. But a small human being finds it so difficult to live with a small conscious mind of one life—if so many lives burst upon him, he is bound to be insane. It is a natural protection. It happened…. I was in Jabalpur and a girl was brought to me. She must have been, at that time, nine years of age. She remembered her past life completely—so realistically that it was not a memory for her, it was a continuity. It was just some accidental error in nature that there was no barrier between the past life and this life. There is a place just eighty miles away from Jabalpur, Katni. She was born in Katni and she remembered that she had her family in Jabulpur. She remembered the names, she remembered her husband, she remembered her sons, the house—she remembered everything. One of my friends brought them to me. I said, "This is strange, because the people she is remembering are living just three or four blocks away from my house." They had a petrol pump, so I used to go for petrol at their petrol pump every day. But I said, "You wait. You wait in my house and I will call them—the Pathak brothers—I will call them and we will see whether this girl remembers them or not." So they came with their servants and a few other neighbors. There were twelve, thirteen people in the crowd, so that they could see whether she could find out…. She immediately jumped, and said, "Brother, have you rec ognized me or not?" She caught hold of both brothers, among thirteen people, and she inquired about the mother and the children…and father had died, and she was crying. It was not a memory, it was a continuity. They took her to their home and then it was a problem: the girl was torn apart about whether to go to this family's house in Jabalpur and live there, or to go back to Katni to the new family where she had been born. Of course, in this family she had lived for seventy years, so the pull was more towards the past-life family. And in the new family she had been born only nine years before; there was no pull—but that was her family, her real family. This other family was only a memory, but to her, it was such a heart-rending problem. And both the families were disturbed about what to do: if she remained in Jabalpur, she would remember the other family continuously, worry about what was happening to them and feel, "I want to go there." If she was there, she would be thinking that she wanted to be in Jabalpur. Finally I suggested that the only way—it was a freak case, there was nothing spiritual in it—was that she needed a deep hypnosis for a few days, so the barrier could be created. She had to be hypnotized to forget the old and the past. Unless she could forget the past, her whole life was going to be a misery. Both families were ready to accept that something had to be done. She was hypnotized continually for at least ten days, to forget. It took ten sessions to create a small barrier so that the old life's memories didn't float into the new life. I have been inquiring about her. She is now perfectly okay—married, has children, has forgotten completely. Even when those people come to see her, she does not recognize them. But her barrier is very thin and artificial. Any accident, and the barrier could be broken, or any hypnotist could break it very easily within ten sessions; or some great shock, and the barrier could be broken. There is no need for you to remember. It is perfectly good. We have to get free from the mind. The East has known all the layers of the mind, but the East has emphasized a totally different aspect than the West: ignore it—you are the pure consciousness behind all these layers. Western psychology is just childish, just born at the end of the last century. It is not even a hundred years old. They have taken up the desire to enter into dreams and to find out, to dig deeper into what is there in the mind. There is nothing. You will find more and more memories, more and more dreams, and you will destroy the person because you will make him vulnerable to an unnecessary burden which has to be erased. One has to go beyond mind, not within the mind. And you don't have any memory as far as the state of beyond mind is concerned. Just drop the idea of the mind. Don't meddle with it; it is getting into an unnecessary trouble and nightmare. You have to surpass the mind, you have to transcend the mind. Your whole effort should be one-pointed, and that is how to be a no-mind: no dreams, no memories, no experiences. Then you are at the very center of your being. Only then do you taste something of immortality. Only then, for the first time, do you know what intelligence is. enligh08 Let me tell you of an incident so that what I am saying becomes clear to you. For about two or three years, in respect to meditation, a lady professor stayed in touch with me. She was very insistent on experimenting with jati-smaran, on learning about her past life. I helped her with the experiment; however, I also advised her that it would be better if she didn't do the experiment until her meditation was fully developed, otherwise it could be dangerous. As it is, a single life's memories are difficult to bear—should the memories of the past three or four lives break the barrier and flood in, a person can go mad. That's why nature has planned it so we go on forgetting th e past. Nature has given us a greater ability to forget more than you can remember, so that your mind does not have a greater burden than it can carry. A heavy burden can be borne only after the capacity of your mind has increased, and trouble begins when the weight of these memories falls on you before this capacity has been raised. But she remained persistent. She paid no heed to my advice and went into the experiment. When the flood of her past life's memory finally burst upon her, she came running to me around two o'clock in the morning. She was a real mess; she was in great distress. She said, "Somehow this has got to stop. I don't ever want to look at that side of things." But it is not so easy to stop the tide of memory once it has broken loose. It is very difficult to shut the door once it crashes down—the door does not simply open, it breaks open. It took about fifteen days—only then did the wave of memories stop. What was the problem? This lady used to claim that she was very pious, a woman of impeccable character. When she encountered the memory of her past life, when she was a prostitute, and the scenes of her prostitution began to emerge, her whole being was shaken. Her whole morality of this life was disturbed. In this sort of revelation, it is not as if the visions belong to someone else—the same woman who claimed to be chaste now saw herself as a prostitute. It often happens that someone who was a prostitute in a past life becomes deeply virtuous in the next; it is a reaction to the suffering of the past life. It is the memory of the pain and the hurt of the previous life that turns her into a chaste woman…. Their interests and attitudes, so totally opposite each other's, so totally different from each other's, had completely changed. This often happens—and there are laws at work behind these happenings. So when the memory of her past life came back to this lady professor, she was very hurt. She felt hurt because her ego was shattered. What sh e learned about her past life shook her, and now she wanted to forget it. I had warned her in the first place not to recall her past life without sufficient preparation. now02 Nowadays…no one has the desire to probe into the secret memories of past lives. If any of my friends wish to carry on experiments of this nature I am willing to guide them. I give my word that at a signal from any of them I am ready for such experimentation. If anyone comes forward it will make me very happy. Only yesterday I received a few letters from friends saying they were ready, that they were waiting to be called. Now that the call has come I trust they are prepared to come forward. I am ready to guide them on the path of exploration into the past. I will accompany them as far as they want to go. At this stage of the world's progress and development, we badly need people who possess this ability. If only a few men can attain to this knowledge I am certain we can remove the darkness that is so quickly enveloping the whole world. long05
  2. good points veer ji, Waheguru
  3. you are definetly not alone.....i have tried and tried, but Laziness yet pervailes again. I used to work in the morning and i had to leave at like 4:30am which was an hour drive to work.. Truthfully speaking those were the best time of my life. That hour of driving was so blissfulll listening to kirtan. I wish i could find a job that made me get up so early. Waheguru.
  4. Pehan Ji i agree, when i started to padth, the first time i sat down, i had no idea what was where in the Gutka, i knew Rehraas was suppose to be done in the afternoons, but instead i started to do Japji Sahib. I did that for a few weeks, until i asked my mother she told me to do rehraas in the afternoons. So i started to do Rehraas. But the point is i did Padth. But it is also important to do the right padth at the right times. Like eating Dahi (yogurt) using a straw when u need a spoon. Yes they both work. but a spoon is more effective. As is the right bani done at the right times. Waheguru.
  5. WAHEGUROO JI KA KHALSA WAHEGUROO JI KI FATEH! no where in my post did i mention or imply that Guru Sahibaah were against science, my point is that ppl are trying to use science to explain gurmat which is impossible to do. to understand siihi u must exsperience it can science explain how reciting a word (gurmantar) brings the mind under control? can it explain how gurmantar washes sins? can science explain can science explain to effects of bibek or simran? no these must be exsperieced on your own, worldly science is limited while the science of gurmat is immeasureably deep, Guru Ji alone explain his hukams to his gursikhs. :i: ur second question mkhalsa answered. WAHEGUROO JI KA KHALSA WAHEGUROO JI KI FATEH! veer ji, The issue is Colors. Science has many credible facts that colors do affect the mind of man. There have been many studies behind this. To simpy deny it is to disregard Science. And i totally agree with you that Science cannot answer every question about Gurmat. But in this case of Colors it is very feasable. The only thing that is at question is the reasoning behind why Red and Green not allowed (if it is infact part of the Rehat). The most logical choice is the im-balance of mindset and simply because they were not added, not reason behind it. But to say specifically because of Hindus and muslim wear them we shall not wear them, needs further investigation. Perhaps you can undestand it very well , but for me personally i cannot. But all I can do is speculate. Waheguru
  6. Mr. Rochak Malang always seem to have a humorous thing to say....always work best in punjabi....so what do i get since i voted for u????
  7. Veer ji, so how would u suppose we understand what we are following??? Gurus are not against Science or are they?? We follows the SGGS, if from our guru we cannot find answer where do we go?? The quotes that i posted are Valid. What do u find in those quotes that does not imply here?? Waheguru
  8. veer ji, my reply was not against the Rehat. it was a question against the fact that we cannot wear them, simply because of Hindus and Muslims wear them. That creates Friction between other Religions. That part of it i could not undestand. The uniform of the Khalsa was created with certain colors because those colors were liked by our guru. Some color were not added because they were not prefered by our guru, not because hindus were dis-liked so red was not liked. That is all i am trying to say. That is what i perceived from the first post, that Red is bad because hindus wore it, Red and Green were not added so a different style of uniform for Khalsa can be created. Simply that, the reasoning behind why they were not added cannot be from the dislike of hindus and muslim. The other thought that they present an imbalance in the mind is acceptable by me. but not the dis-like of hindus and muslims. Waheguru
  9. Veer ji, r> If you haven't yet undestood what exactly i was trying to argue against then what i will say now will not matter either. My question/point was cleared in the discussion with Khalsa Soulja. Waheguru.
  10. This should be self explanitory Waheguru Waheguru
  11. Ma'am Dorothy ji, This is just my thought on your posts. I think you need to define the difference between what sex is and what lust is. What is need and what is Greed. Sex is the natural course of Nature. Lust is like what was once a small fire that was burning has now become a Blaze which is now out of control. What was once a Spark now has become a Burning Flame which ingolfes your Awareness into the desire for Lust. You do not realize that what you are lusting over is nothing but skin and bones. You are being lustfull of Dirt. Do not mis-interpret this as i am putting down the body, but a fact is that the body is nothing more than Dirt. It should be used as a Car. Without the soul-driver the body is nothing but dirt-metal. Lust is Attachment to dirt which drives you away from your path. Even god gives you what you want, if you still have the desire of sex which acts like a seed , then you will reincarnate to reap the fruit of that seed. which is your decision not gods'. He does not make you do nething. You plant your desires, so YOU WILL reap its fruit. No ifs or buts about it. You have to undestand as long as you have desire, then you will come back and back to this earth of heaven and hell to complete those desire. Same can be said to that who want to find god. To find god one must pass thru a lifetime. But their path is of Awareness, they realize that difference between Lust and Sex. Between need and greed. God created sex, not lust, God created Death, not Murder. God created Love, not Attachment. God created Need not Greed. The Mind of Man created these...not God. What will a $2000 dollar dress do to you, boost your self-esteem, make you feel good about yourself, so you need materialistic thing to feel good to be happy?? Hapiness is a state of mind, for which things are not required. Things make you more worry some and if you have NOthings now worries. it will make other jelous of you or perhaps even talk bad about you. But you'll say i don't care what other think. That is fine, but why can't you be happy with a 50 or 100 dollar dress instead of wasting 2000 dollars on clothing. You like to share your wealth, but why couldn't you spend 500 dollars on a dress and give 1500 dollars of that money to the poor?? For how much longer you will like that dress, perhaps for a few years and as our body changes that dress will become useless, hence what was one worn with great happiness is now nothing more that which is left hanging in a closet. Do that which will remain with you forever. Do that which will not Fade or Tear. Your own body will not remain with you. Do that which is Permanent. Do not carry desires for the materialistic world with you as they will the be the cause of your reincarnation. It is not to say do not live comfortablly. Live you live as comfortablly as you can, but do not over-exagerate it to where you are buying and doing useless thing. Do those which are necessary to further progress you on this path of Spirituality not which takes you away from the path. The gurus have said that the 5 vices. Lust, Greed, Attachment, Anger, Ego drive you away from your desired destination. Now its up to you to see if Lust drives you away from your spiritual path or not. If suddenly you have the desire for sex and it is time for meditation, the train is leaving, it will not wait for you to have sex and then u can leave which will you choose??? If you choose Sex then it is taking u away from your spiritual path hence it is a vice. If you choose meditation, it will take you away from Lust which intern leads you on the path. Lust is depent on another to fullfill that d esire. You need another, the spiritual path is the path of lonliness, only you can walk on this path, no one can walk with you, someone can guide you, but you will have to ultimatly walk on it. To have expectation of another that he should have sex with you, sets u up for attachment to a male. So without a male you are not fullfilled. You are not using your vices to help Man. You are not helping a man enjoy his pleasure, but further sending him down the path of LUST along with yourself. The object is to be fullfilled from within, not outside. Fullfilled from within, the desire for the outside world diminshes. You are basing your hapiness of money/lust from the outside world. A world which is constantly changing, and one day it too will not remain. Your expectation of someone will one day bring you pain, becasue in the end no one will go with you, only you will leave and you will leave that 5000 dollar dress for someone else, the man which pleased u sexually will not remain either, but u will be alone and all that will remain is your desire for Lust and Money. Because in the End man remember that which he desired for his whole life. That which he enjoyed in his life. That which he could not have. That which he lost. That which he wished he could have done. Some even think that i will remember god in the end and i will be saved, but in that time only those who have remember god in their mind in their lifetime can remember god at their last moments. When death comes it brings this overwhelming feeling that everything is fading away, it is slowly slipping away from you. What will you grab on to?? your 5000 dollar dress??? You man who pleased you sexually, even he can't help you. In the end all you ahve is your self. no one else. Waheguru.
  12. LOLL sorry veer ji, just wanted to clarify few things. :umm:
  13. That is only valid as long as you are seeing a difference between you and god. As long as there is still this gap between u and god. So u have to be carefull of what is right and what is not. When that gap (ego) breaks.....all which exists become his, then the devotee has surrendered himself to the will of god. If he choose to give him poisen, the devotee will accept. If he brings him crucifiction he will gladly accept with open arms, knowingly he will enter the city. If he asks for his head, he goes knowingly that he shall not return. A is a valid and logical Answer. B.simply because it was not added to the Khalsas attire, nothing more in it. Fair enough. Jogies do all kind of piercing to their body, I don't think they are wrong for doing it. It is their method, it is their practicing. There are many types of devotees of waheguru. One is not more right than the other. if Hindus wear red, then they must have a certain type of approach behind their faith so they choose to wear red. It becomes a question of Perception. Everyone perceives differently according to their mindset. Well i knew if guru ji did say it. They must had a Valid Reason, but why is that so. I can accept explanatin that colors can produce an im-balance in your mind. If that is the reason so it is not because hindus wear it. So if it creates an imblance in a Sikhs mind would it not create an imbalance in Hindus mind? So neither are wrong in this case because hindus who are wearing red are also being enlightened and Sikhs who are not wearing red are also achieving salvation. I do not hate Red, I personally don't like it because it is not prefered by me. I have shirts that are red, but very few. The uniform of the Khalsa was created with certain colors because those colors were liked by our guru. Some color were not added because they were not prefered by our guru, not because hindus were dis-liked so red was not liked. That is all i am trying to say. That is what i perceived from the first post, that Red is bad because hindus wore it. They were not added to create a different style of uniform for Khalsa. Satnaam Waheguru Waheguru.
  14. no i read what you said ji, But obviously you did not read what my point was. You spoke your opinion i will speak mine. I am being logical if this is not logical then what is. My whole point was that Red is bad because simply hindus wear it, Which is NONSENSE. Telling all Sikhs to not like RED???? how silly does that sound??? IT can be bad because it effects our mind in such manner as studies today have shown that color of a room effect a new born...the different colors bring different attitudes to the mind. For example....light or dim blue light makes people sleep with more ease, but it does not effect every single individual the same way. Now who are you to tell me what color not to wear????? If all color are his, then i will wear all colors, I will be colored from head to t oe because they all created by my beloved Waheguru. He inspires me to love his creation, including all colors which is him. "Sargun ve oh-he, Nargun ve oh-he" It starts from Color what makes you think it will stop there, it will spread that we should not step in a mandir because hindus go there. Or the kind of food we eat because hindus eat it. Find the rehat where it says to not wear red, if that is so. Then i will need to know why that is so. if it has a Effect on the mind as some colors do the mind, then I can understand it. But if it simply because Hindus wear it. Then i cannot accept it. I think you are digging too far into my posts, that i am going against the Rehat. I am going agaisnt that which creates differences or dislikes between those same hindus for whom our 9th Guru Sacrifised his head for. Waheguru.
  15. u have a point!!!!!as far as i have read black = no egoism saffron/orange = martyrdom (plzz clarify if its saffron or orange...coz kesri means saffron, i think) white = peace blue = sacrifice plzz correct me if i m wrong you have a point veer ji, that yes certain color give off certain messages. REd is blood, it is also danger, but it is also the Suhaggan's wedding dress which it also points that is what she has been waiting for all of her life, to wear that dress which glow of its redness. It is her hapiness. Now in Western for a wedding it is White, but in India White is the color of death/Widowed person, and in the west black is used for death. So which will you go with with who is right and who is wrong??? Color are only significant to the one who perceives them as such. To say it is Forbidden because of HIndus is com plete NONSENSE.
  16. WoW so How many of you are actually doing something about Khalistan, and i do not mean posting on a website, spreading your khalistani views. How many of you are politically involved?? UNDERSTAND THIS INDIA WILL NOT JUST HAND OVER KHALISTAN (punjab) to SIKHS. IT IS FAR TOO LATE FOR POLITICAL REASONING WITH INDIA. How many people actually want Khalistan beside 99% of u that post on this site? Im talking about those who are living in Punjab and they are the ones who will have to endure Almost ALL of the Pain of their Sons who will either be forced to dragged into this war. You living in America and UK have got this escape route, that when and if things start to get too rough for you people you will run to your countries. Some will stay, but Most will run. What Gernail Bindranwala wanted to do was different than what his follower did. He stated in one interview when he had locked himself inside of harmandir Sahib that mistakes have been made and the orders that he gave were not followed at times, those under his command did what they wanted to do. AS someone said, This is like Palistine/Isreal in the Brewing. Are you a small percentage who ACTUALLY want Khalistan and i do mean its a small percentage, because in a crowd there are only a few with the desire, most are there just to fill the spaces. As soon as trouble starts, it no longer becomes a khalistani desire, but the desire to survive individually. There will be those who will sacrifise their lives for Khalistan, but those like I said are very few. If there is a Peacefull Solution to Khalistan, which i highly doubt there is. I am all for it. But are you willing to speak for the ma ny who don't want their kids to be raised in a Terroristic environment?? and don't tell me it is not going to happen. Punjabi will become a Terrorist Nation. Whether you like it or not You will have a lable upon you as a Terrorist. Do not confuse this as not wanting Khalistan because of Fear, Take this as being Realistic. I certainly don't want my kids to see their homeland with the fear of whether there is a Terroristic organization operating in punjab funded by the Indian Government. That if they go out in the city, whether there is a bomb in that car. Those are the realistic views. You want the future of Sikh Kids as it ws in the mid-80s?? If you take a Vote in PUNJAB of how many actually want Khalistan i Bet you there will be less than 25% of the people who want it. Is that enough to start a war?? Raaj Karayga Khalsa, is having the Raaj of Sikhi which is founded on LOVE not WAR. Waheguru
  17. This has to be the most Absurd thing i have ever heard. I can't believe that we are falling into such superstitions. If you think hindus wear red. then next time your sister or cousin get married, don't let her wear a red dress when she gets married and don't let her sit in front of our GURU because its forbidden. If you don't like red then don't wear it. Why are you trying to throw your personal views around with that the GURUS said this?? Show me where it is forbidden for a Sikh to wear RED. If you think just because hindus wear RED so we should not wear them. then Take out the Bani from the SGGS of Naamdave, and other Hindu Bhagats. They are hindu, they wore RED. Which is forbidden in our REligion right??? ='http://forums.waheguroo.com/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='rolleyes.gif'> WAKE UP JI, IT is only a COLOR, He exists in every shape, color and even a hindu. We are getting driven away from sikhi, not towards it by this Rubbish thinking. Waheguru.
  18. whats this about, what gurus saskaar?? :T:
  19. Pheena

    SAD

IMHO Amrit should never be taken to just increase the number of AmritDhari Sikhs.
  20. veerji, she doesn't consider herself a sikh. Her name Gurumaa is that she is a guru in form of a Mother the name which was give to her by her diciples out of the love, that she shows the love, as a mother to her child, as she lovers her diciples.
  21. veer ji, In your eyes, anyone who is not an Amritdhari cannot talk about sikhi or is not even a Sikh so i expected your views to be nothing more than what you've written. Congratulations on being open-minded. Guru Nanak Preached to Hindus and Muslim. He was Neither. Do you say he had no right to speak to them. Only that which is Nuetral himself and not being bound by any ties can speak about another. Biased Opinion occur when one is more attached to one than the other. That is why Refrees in a game must be nuetral and not be biased toward any team for them to judge fairly. She speaks the TRUTH about every religion. She does not favore one over another. If you listen to her more the more you will realize that. Waheguru. P.S P lease i don't want this to become a Arguement, it is just to share with other on what she preaches.
  22. Pheena Jee, she wears a Tilakh, which is another sign proving she is Hindu. By preaching all faiths, just proved that she is a Hindu who is secular, and accepts other religious paths. veer ji, Only she knows what she is, by speculation nothing definite is understood. She is considered a Fakard Fakeer who has no ties to any religion, not sikh, nor hindu simply because she has a Tilak does not mean that she must be hindu. The Tilaks that she wears is a Method, a way, a utensil. If i start to wear a Sumbrayro ( a mexican hat) to help me from teh sun....that makes me Mexican??? well i don't want to start an argument over this. Perhaps you only saw few of her cources on t.v. The more you listen to her, the more you begin to understand her message. Waheguru
  23. I too am a farmer and I sowed some seeds. They sprouted and now flowers have come to them. My whole life is filled with the fragrance of these flowers and because of this fragrance now I am in a different world. This fragrance has given me a new birth, and now I am no longer that which is seen by ordinary eyes. The unseen and the unknown have flung open their closed doors, and I am seeing a world which is not seen through the eyes, and I am hearing music which ears are not capable of hearing. Whatsoever I have found and known is eager to flow just as the mountain waterfalls and springs flow and rush towards the ocean. Remember, when the clouds are full of water they have to shower. And when the flowers are filled with fragrance they have to give off their fragrance freely to the winds. And when a lamp is lit, the light is bound to radiate from it. Something like this has happened and the winds are carrying away some seeds of revolution from me. I have no idea in what fields they will land and who will tend them. I only know that it is from seeds like these that I have attained the flowers of life, immortality, and the divine. And in whatever field they land, the very soil there will turn into the flowers of immortality. In death is hidden the immortal and in death is life-just as flowers are inherent in the soil. But the potential of the soil can never become realized in the absence of seeds. The seeds make manifest that which was unmanifest and give expression to that which was latent. Whatever I have, whatever I am, I want to give away as seeds of divine consciousness. What is attained in knowledge—knowing—love gives away in abundance. In knowing one knows G od; in love one becomes God. Knowledge is the spiritual discipline, love is the fulfillment. sdwisd00 A year has passed. During the last rainy season I had sown the seeds of gultevari flowers. As the rainy season was over, flowers also disappeared. Then I removed the dried-up plants. This year I am seeing that with the coming of the rains so many gultevari plants are sprouting on their own. They have begun to appear from the ground in so many places. The seeds left in the ground from the previous season have waited for a year, and it is blissful coming to life now. In the darkness underground, in winter and summer, they have been waiting there. Now somehow they have the opportunity of seeing the light again. With this comes the feeling of an auspicious and festive music emanating from those newly born plants, and I experience it. Centuries ago, some nectar-sweet-throat sang: Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya—who does not have the desire to move from darkness to light! Are not such seeds lying hidden in every man, in every living being, wanting to attain to light? Is there not also since many many lifetimes a waiting and praying for this opportunity? These seeds are lying hidden within everyone and it is only from these seeds that the thirst arises for becoming complete. These flames are lying hidden in every one, and these flames want to reach out to the sun! No one becomes fulfilled without transforming these seeds into plants. There is no other way than to become whole. One has to become whole, because intrinsically every seed is whole. sdwisd05 Tick…tick…tick…the clock has started running again. In fact, it has been running all along, for me only had it stopped. Or, better to say, I myself had become closed to the space where this running exists. I had moved into another realm of time. I was sitting with eyes closed, looking within, and went on looking—it was altogether a different realm of time. Then contact with this realm was broken. How blissful it is t o slip out of time! Pictures on the mind stop. Their existence is time. As they cease, time ceases and then only the pure present remains. The present is part of time only in language. In reality, it is outside the realm of time, beyond of it. To be in it is to be in the self. I have returned from that world now. How peaceful everything is! In the distance some bird is singing, a child is crying in the neighborhood and a cock is crowing. How blissful it is to live! And now I know that death too is blissful, because life does not end with it. It is only a state of life—life is before it and after it also. sdwisd04 I was sitting with my eyes closed. Seeing always with the eyes open, man is forgetting the art of seeing with closed eyes. What is seen with open eyes is nothing compared to what is seen with the eyes closed. The tiny eyelid separates and joins two worlds. I was sitting with eyes closed when a person came; he asked me what I was doing. When I said I was seeing something, he became almost perplexed. Perhaps he would have thought, "Can seeing with closed eyes be called seeing?" When I open my eyes I arrive in the finite. When I close my eyes, the doors of the infinite open. On one side is seen the seen and on the other the seer. sdwisd05 I get up in the morning—I see the squirrels running about, I see the flowers opening up in the rays of the sun, I see nature overflowing with harmonious melody. I go to bed at night—I see the silence showering from the stars, I see the blissful sleep encompassing the entire creation. And then I begin to ask myself "What has happened to man?" Everything is vibrating with bliss except man. Everything is resonating with music except man. Everything is settled in divine peace except man. sdwisd04 At dawn I watched the sparkling drops of dew gently and lovingly settling on the petals of the flowers. They made not a sound. When one's heart is ready God also descends like the tiny drops of dew. You have no inkling of his coming until he manifests himself before you. long03 Last night, away from the city, we were sitting in a mango grove. There were some clouds in the sky and the moon played hide-and-seek among them. In this play of light and shadow, some people were there silently with me for a long time. How difficult it becomes to speak sometimes! When the atmosphere is thick with a melody, a music, one is afraid to speak lest it should be disrupted. So it happened last night. We returned back home very late. On the way, someone remarked, "This is the first time in my life that I have experienced silence. I had heard that silence is a wonderful bliss, but I realized it only today. Today it has happened effortlessly—but how will it happen again?" I said, "What has happened effortlessly happens only effortlessly, it does not happen with effort." sdwisd05 Since evening, it has been stormy and rainy. Gusts of wind have lashed the trees. The electric supply has failed, and the city is plunged into darkness. In the house, an earthenware lamp has been lit, its flame ascending. The lamp is of the earth, but its flame endlessly mounts to touch the unknown. Man's consciousness is like this flame. His body is content with the earth but there is something else in him which constantly strives to rise above it. This consciousness, this dancing flame is the life of man. This ceaseless yearning to soar is his soul. Man is man because he has this flame within him. Without it, he is only earth. If this flame burns fiercely, a revolution comes into being. If this flame is manifest totally, the earth itself can be transcended. Man is a lamp. There is earth in him, but there is light too. If he concerns himself only with the earth, his life is wasted: there must be attention to the light also. Awareness of the light transforms everything and allows man to see God in the earth. sdwisd02
