  1. ) Non Amritdharis aren't allowed 2 do Naam Simran? who's stopping them?! A LOT of sehajdhari sikhs i know do naam simran and play panj bani paath in the morning in the car on the way to work/uni. Gurbani is universal to all mankind. As for the point on the bhagat contributors to SGGS ji- it's straight forward; they did not take amrit and did many things like hold fasts, pray in the jungle, live their lives seperately from their family (opposed to grehst jeevan), prayed to idols, etc. But at the end of the day they attained mukhti due to factors like ridding themselves of ahunkaar or having a succha heart. The point of taking amrit is that we have a much faster pathway for our spirit to travel by comparison. We can live a day-to-day family life with Gurbani giving us the chance to meet the True Lord Peace
  2. i've seen this occurring at akhand paaths i've been to, if the ban is in place then it is not universally being followed as yet as the french would say- c'est la vie- i'll certainly be making sure this don't go on around me in the future then <_<
  3. Since joining a few days ago i've been trying to suss out how this forum is run day to day. The way this forum is designed and run by the web team and moderated is excellent. This the best moderated forum for all ages as well as being run in a way to promote unity in the naujawan generation. This deserves MUCH MORE praise and promotion than it's currently getting and we should all make sure that every Sikh in our generation no matter what their background uses this resource. FANTASTIC well done :TH:
  4. Guruji's the most forgiving person on the planet, it rightfully makes us feel bad to think how many times we use Him and He's still there for us every single time in our time of need Guruji would forgive us and continue to teach us when our own worldly mother, father and entire society would shun us. Same happened to me, don't worry Guruji isn't vengeant or nothing! However, if you do have some spare time do some naam simran just to show you're genuine because over the years we'll only show our faith to Guruji with action over inaction Peace
  5. brummy thru and thru  went 2 last sikhi camp but ashamedly missed this one. baesharam genuinely couldnt be helped
  6. thanks 4 making me feel welcome nobody else welcomed me (lapping up the sympathy vote) apologies on the site being down- i deserve a slap sometimes in the way i run the site thanks again p.s. went to the pure punjab site... Very nice ! ! !
  7. superb points made by khalistani & balwinder singh- i have to admit i bowed once when i was little to a baba that came 2 the uk ... i really learnt a lot that day about not following the crowd! less of this and more of besides as the baba walked past he grabbed my gutti like a shaolin monk doing an eagle claw move. i think he was giving ashidvaar but i felt bad as i saw Guruji to my right so i didnt again good point on indhira- just goes to show we show no respect for Guruji when we go Gurdwara on sunday as we sit talking but as soon as someone walks in that has worldly wealth, power or status we all shut up and stare or in her case some probably stood and gave her a salute <_<
  8. http://www.sikhlionz.com/bhagatz.htm B) any gurbani by any of the bhagats or saakhi from their lives we hear much more about the Gurus relatively and i think as a Qaum we should promote and discuss the Gurbani of the bhagats and those saakhis relevant to Sikhi such as Bhagat Dhanna's worship of the touchstone was done with so much of a truthful heart that God took form to help him. These are beautiful saakhis and beautiful Gurbani that always goes to the heart :TH:
  9. agree, the sikhi in the youth generation is sachi so we should stand as one and sort out these Jabronies running these halls  ) we know that gurdwarae have followed the demand for greater halls in the past and now there is a growing demand among sehajdhari community for halls to be nearer to gurdwarae and to be lenient on this issue. But it is up to the committees to remain firm
  10. the question isn't whether you class nirankaris, namdharis, bhatrae as sikhs it is whether they class themselves as sikh and they do. The latter do in their temples have siroops of sggs do they not and have the kfc langar? <_<
  11. tarunjeet could you clarify this for me- concerning the ramgharia temple in brum city centre- is meat/ shiraab allowed in the seperate hall for weddings, etc. ? genuine question - not doing nindia or anything like that as i have utmost respect for the sevadaars there
