  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! The current situation of the tournament is that it is out of control and is not fit to be associated with Guruji, Sikh Shaheeds or a Gurughar. There has been many letters issued by the Gurdwara Committee in the local Redbridge Recorder where they attempt to justify the tournament as a “family event”. However when questioned by the Sangat all committee members accept the alcohol abuse & violent behaviour that takes place on the day. It’s a day that does more damage than good.its a fact. The tournament has been moving for the pass few years because playing grounds refuse to have them again. Goodmayes Park Extension is the current site where the local residents are in uproar. People are so drunk that fights break out, rowdiness, vandalism, along with vomit & urine staining the roads around the park. This is what Guruji’s name is being associated with. The committee need a reality check. The tournament is out of control. It’s not a matter of pride for local Sikhs to hear what people get up to on the day. Gurdwara committees must be responsible. The committee accepted that the tournament was not fit for the memory of Guruji & Sikh Shaheeds. Their pride & ego is above beadbi because they have been organising this piss up for many years now…what will people think…the committee has gone weak….we can have that…but we can have the beadbi of Guruji, Shaheeds, Gurughars & Sadh Sangat.
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! These committee members are the modern day Massands who sell Sikhi. When did a Gurdwara become a business that caters for the needs of lavish weddings? Guruji showed us how to fight against the enemy within our community. This committee is responsible to the UK Sadh Sangat, it’s their ignorance if they feel it is a local issue and only local people can partake. When did Sikhi become confide to Leeds? Make the choice – Gurmat and Manmat cannot be together. One has to be forsaken….its our choice….. GurFateh!
  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! GURDWARA EXPOSED! “Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi” Sports & Cultural Tournament organised by: Sri Guru Singh Sabha London East For several years Sangat has been trying to stop this tournament where the following happens: 1) Excessive Alcohol & Drug Abuse 2) Rowdy and Violent Behaviour 3) Langar from Gurdwara is distributed alongside meat and alcohol 4) Misuse of Gurdwara Funds Is this what Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji & Sikh Shaheeds lived and died for? This Gurdwara committee are the Massands of today. They refuse to address the concerns of the Sangat. They are misusing the offerings from Sangat. They partake in the alcohol & drug abuse on the day of the tournament. They profit from the tournament. This is the future of our community at stake. Do we want people who abuse their roles as community leaders? This abuse of power has to stop and as Sadh Sangat this is your chance to make a difference in your local area. The committee is responsible to YOU all of the local Sadh Sangat. The tournament highlights the extent to which this committee is not capable of promoting Sikhism within the local area. Things will not change unless we try to do something about it. If you have love for Guruji and call yourself a Sikh then it’s your problem. 4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I received the same reply from the BBFC as Manvir Singh, to which my reply is below: Dear Hammed Your response is disappointing and ignorant to the offence this film will cause. The makers cannot justify the abuse of a Sikh Greeting by justifying it is the name of the main character in the movie. We have no concern whether Sunny Deol thinks he is a Sikh or not, that is irrelevant and does not allow him to think he is able to insult Sikhs. The Sikh Greeting "Jo Bole Sone Haal" is a reference from Gurbani (Sikh Sacred Scriptures). To Sikhs our Scriptures are a living form of God. Gurbani cannot be used as a title to a cheap Hindi Movie. Secondly there is a song which has the Sikh Greeting to pop music and picturised as a love song between the hero & heroine of this movie. This is blatant disregard on the behalf of BBFC and your response reflects an institute that is far away from reality and understanding the diverse society of UK. Your email has raised further concerns about how the BBFC actually censors and reviews movies that cause offence. Your reply is poor and I still ask the BBFC to take on board the concerns of the UK Sikh Community. Will a film title such as "Allah Ho Akbar" be acceptable if the hero name was Allah? If you think that the a film title based on a Sikh Greeting is justified then it portrays ignorance on the behalf of the BBFC. Please meet with Sikh Organisations who will aid the BBFC to highlight the offence this film will cause. The film is blatant "Bollywood Prejudice" towards Sikhs. Below is a letter I have sent to my Local MP (please use it as a template when writing to your MP - www.faxyourmp.com) I write to you to express concern regarding the Indian film, "Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal!" which has been passed by UK Censors and is releasing in the UK on 13th may 2005. As you may be aware, Sikhs all over the country are agitated over the contents of the movie and the gross, negligent and deliberate misuse of the Sikh war cry and greeting, "Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal!” The contents of the movie as well as the use of the Sikh slogan as the title of the movie will cause great offence to the UK Sikh Community. The Sikh Greeting "Jo Bole So Nihal" is a reference from Gurbani (Sikh Sacred Scriptures). To Sikhs our Scriptures are a living form of God. Gurbani cannot be used as a title to a cheap Hindi Movie. I ask to to contact the BBFC to review its decision to pass the film for release in the UK. The BBFC must take advise from UK Sikh Organisations to highlight the offence that will be cause by this film and act accordingly. The film is nothing but a reflection of Bollywood Prejudice towards Sikhs. I look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter. Keep the pressure on!! GurFateh!
  5. Waheguru Ji KA Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Sangat Ji I have been hearing that a fake Anand Karaj was shot at Ramgahria Gurdwara Slough (the film stars Amitabh) Can anyone tell what happened? When did a Darbar Sahib become a studio? I cant start to imagine what beadbi would have happened on the day!! GurFateh!!
  6. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Princess Bhanji Please use the template, the letter I have written is based on a letter by SGPC. Does anyone know who is the UK distributors of this film? Also can the Sangat use this template to inform and win support from their local MP's. Use www.faxyourMP.com (it does work!!) GurFateh!!
  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Sangat Ji, Below is a template letter that you can send to BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) UK about the offensive Indian Film "Jo Bole Sone Haal". Please can all email this letter to : contact_the_bbfc@bbfc.co.uk Dear Sir or Madam: I write to you to express concern regarding the Indian film, "Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal!" which has been passed by Censors and is releasing in the UK on 13th may 2005. As you may be aware, Sikhs all over the country are agitated over the contents of the movie and the gross, negligent and deliberate misuse of the Sikh war cry and greeting, "Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal!” A large number of Sikh organisations, from all over the world, have protested in regard to the contents of the movie as well as the use of the Sikh slogan as the title of the movie. The producers and directors of the movie have shown scant regard for the sentiments of the Sikh people. The promos of the movie, as seen on many Satellite TV channels do not leave much to the imagination of the film goers. Scantily clad actresses intermixed with the use of a Sikh slogan is just not acceptable. I would like to inform you that this film will offend Sikhs when the movie is released anywhere in the UK or anywhere in the world for that matter. We love and respect our religion and any misrepresentation of the same is sacrilegious and will cause great outrage. If the Indian Film Industry has chosen to debase society, it is welcome to go to any depths, but as far as the Sikh people are concerned, we have had enough. The Indian Film Industry has been tampering with the Sikh image through word and image for a long time. Now the Indian Film Industry has decided to use religious greetings and stereotypes to promote their brand of prejudice. No film, which has religious content of any kind, should be certified till it is seen by a member of that community. In fact any movie having religious content should be sent to Sikh religious bodies for prior approval. Please can you explain your guidelines for such situations and specifically to the censorship of this film? It would be naive for BBFC not to take the views of the UK Sikh Community on board and apply its powers to ban this film for its offensive content blatantly directed to Sikhs. The film is scheduled for release on 13th May 2005 and it will lead to protests wherever it is released. I urge you to take immediate steps to stop the release of the movie “Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal.” Thank you. Yours sincerely GURFATEH!
  8. Fully agree. The Campaign did get in touch with the Akal Takht with all the issues and unfortunately received 1 faxed letter from the Akaal Takht re-iterating the 1998 Hukumnama about Guruji's saroop going to halls and clubs. The Campaign have still not received any orginal correspondenace after over 6 months. Sorry to say, as far as i personally feel the Akaal Takht let us down.
  9. VahegurooJeeKaKhalsaVahegurooJeeKeeFateh! Tell us when you want us to come down. We need to confront the committee. We are ready.
  10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Below is a posting from www.tapoban.org by Gurcharan Singh Kulim, MBA Phd: I now live in Chigwell, well within the catchment area of the two Singh sabha Gurduaras, for the past four years. This tournament is very much in the local news because of the activities mentioned and the refusal of many local amenity bodies to allow it to be held within their areas, after having experienced the rowdy behaviours displayed by the tournament participants leading to law and order problems, excessive drinking, rowdy & violent behaviour. Not to mention of the illegal and dangerous parking of cars and loud noises created. To end it all, the hugh heaps of rubbish, bottles and cans of drinks littered around with no attempt by the organisers to clear it all up at the end of it. There were also cases of drug abuse and empty needles found around the grounds.I know this for a FACT as I was called to monitor the situation al;ong with officers of the local police , on the last day as part of the law and order brief, and because of the languages I speak. In fact, in the year 2001, the tournament was held near to Chigwell.the above is part of my observation from that event. In fact that evening sometime after the event was supposed to have ended,I was driving back to Chigwell, from Seven Kings Singh Sabha Gurduara along the Forest Road, when a number "Sikhs"(mone)were causing a road hold up after having drunk to their eye balls. They were in the middle of the road, and dancing and sprawling themselves on the road. They were holding up two cars ahead of me, and were getting into an argument with the two white drivers, one with a family. I had to get out of my car, despite my wife's insistence to not get involved and approached the men ,six in all, seeing me their attitue mellowed.I showed them my ID card, and asked them nicely not to be silly and cause unnecesary issues. At which one of them said to me ..bha ji tuhanu, apne bande nu milke bahot khushi hoyii assin ethon hatt jaande haan tuhade kahe te.Ajj Guru an da sports da din si...at this point they had moved out of the road.the two other drivers thanked me, as I asked them to move on;one of them still pulled up his car ahead and waited until I had got back into my car. However, before that, I interjected into the conversation of the guy ,,and asked him ..ki Guru an ne hi tuhanu ehni peen waaste keha si ...woh Vi guru Arjan Ji ne ???to which all of them were speechless...and nahi bha ji ..nahi bhaa ji ...eh galti assin kar lende haan... was his half muttered answer, I turned round and got back into my car, and drove on ..as I neared the other car,the driver wound his window and thanked me again, I had to say to him ...they were not Sikhs...just silly indians! That weeks local newspapers carried headlines of rowdy behaviours and littering of the area aftyer this so called shaheedi tournament. The local areas of the council are relectant to hold this event within their own areas, see the local papers in the last few weeks. I totally endorse the gurSikhs view that this event is a disgrace not only to Sikhs but to the SIKH Gurus and particularly lowers the shahidee of Guru Arjan Ji.It should change its name or be stopped. Use of the Gurduara facilities to support this event, is also an abuse of the sagataan da daan and sharda.I am surprised at the committee's attitude towards this ....shame shame on them. Cyber Sangat Ji please show your support against this beadbi to the great memory of Guru Arjan Dev Ji & our Shaheeds. GurFateh!!
  11. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sangat condemn Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi Cultural & Sports Tournament (12 June 2005, Ilford, Essex) Sri Guru Singh Sabha London East & other local establishments started this tournament about 25 years ago. The current state of affairs is that many local Gurdwaras & community groups have now boycotted the tournament because of law & order problems, excessive drinking, rowdy & violent behaviour by tournament participants. This year has the added bonus of having Bhangra & Giddha dancers and competitions. Is this how Sikhs celebrate the sacrifice by Guru Arjan Dev Ji? Did Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji commemorate his father’s Shaheedi in this way? The simple solution is to remove Guru Arjan Dev Ji sacred name, the term Shaheedi (Martyrdom) and links to the Gurdwara from this Tournament. A group of local Sikhs approached the committee of Sri Guru Singh Sabha London East on 30 April 05 with this request. They addressed the committee who made the following comments: - Accepted all problems caused by this tournament - Failed to see the concerns that the tournament was an abuse of Guru Ji’s name and the memory of the Shaheeds - Bhangra/Giddha is part of the Sikh religion, they referred to Ranjit Nagara as a dancing instrument - Due to the fact that the tournament is funded by “local businessmen” linked to the Gurdwara committee, it is justifiable pursue activities that are in stark contrast to the sacred principles of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and all Sikh Martyrs - Drinking is a norm in the Sikh community and is acceptable in modern society - Gurdwara facilities and Sangat offerings will be exploited to make food for the day. - This same “food” was termed Langar by Guru Ji and is sacred. This same “Langar” will be distributed alongside alcohol and meat on the day - Local residents have demanded a stop to this tournament - Vans full of alcohol can enter on the day The refusal of the Committee to accept the abuse of Guru Ji’s name and their blatant attitude to dismiss the concerns of the local Sangat is highly concerning. Guru Arjan Dev Ji gave his life to teach the value of Sacrifice for others. This tournament is proposed to be held on the 12 June. On the 16 June we will be sitting in Gurdwaras commemorating Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s Shaheedi. Will we be able to face Guru Arjan Dev Ji four days after letting this dishonour to Guru Ji’s name and principles take place? We will be responsible for insulting the first Shaheed of the Sikh religion by allowing the tournament to be named after Guru Ji. Guru Ji is present within the Sadh Sangat - a congregation of Sikhs In the form of Sadh Sangat if you have any love for Guru Ji, we are appealing to you to attend the sports committee meeting on the 8 May 05 and demand that the name of the tournament be changed in order to ensure that the blood of our Shaheeds was NOT spilt in vain. 8 May 2005 – Barking Singh Sabha Gurdwara, 100 North Street, Barking, Essex at 2:30 pm to an open sports committee meeting. Call us on 079 4444 5651 GurFateh!!
  12. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sangat Ji, I feet sadden to see this "item" being sold on EBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...7310731229&rd=1 Our history is being sold on Auction Site, does anyone know whether any Gurdwara, Sikh Museum will be able to purchase our history? The Sikh Community deserves to have these historical manuscripts rather than institutes like the British Library or some collector who will add to his/her personal collection. GurFateh!

  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Hopefully this situation will be resolved soon. I received the below email: Dear Sir I have been passed the message that you sent to the Cardinal about the display in St Paul's Bookshop. Let me apologize immediately for the offence, which was (I hope you will understand) quite unintentional. I should add that the Bookshop is run by the Society of St Paul, and is completely separate from Westminster Cathedral. I have contacted the Manager, and asked him to remove the material immediately. Yours sincerely Monsignor M Langham Administrator, Westminster Cathedral Also before the Easter break I was speaking to employees at the shop and they sounded as if the wanted to resolve the problem. I am going to contact them after the Easter break and with Guruji's kirpa the display will not be there! GurFateh!
  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sangat Ji, the Westminister Cathedral shop has a shop front display with a old Bible and the surrounding wall is covered by a rumaala with In Oankaar stuck upside down. I dont know the motives of this display, but together we must contact the Cathedral to remove it. Please can all contact Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor for the removal of this display (cathedralwebmaster@rcdow.org.uk). I dont know why they have done this display, we all must assume that its really a lack of understanding on their side. This is the email I sent earlier: Dear Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor Yesterday I visited the shop display of Westminister Cathedral as was upset to see the religious symbol for Sikhism on display. I am a Sikh and was deeply upset to see your display where a majority of the wall was covered by a rumaala (sacred cloth used to cover Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji – Sacred Scriptures). Sacred Symbol known to Sikhs as Ik Oankaar (meaning there is only one God) is displayed upside down. This symbol is the start of our Sacred Scriptures (Gurbani) and the basis of our religion. Gurbani is the living embodiment of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji (first Guru of Sikhism) I request you to remove this display immediately and pass the rumaala over to a Sikh Institute. I attach a picture of what I saw. It highlights the Sikh Symbols on display which is upside down. I hope to hear from you soon. Regards I have a picture of the display and will try to upload it. GurFateh!
  16. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Jagroop Singh No matter what, it means that in the name of Sikhi we have created an environment that promotes anti Sikh activities. Now it doesnt matter whether the monies collected are from donations or from drink/food. We will have turned our backs of what our Gurus taught us. Basically, we need to get people drunk and fill their bellies with flesh in order for them to give a little bit of charity. Would Guruji accept their charity that has been collected in a way that is opposed in Sikhi? Its Money coming before Gurmat. Guruji has become secondary and the primary important is a building. Thats all I can call it, if its supposed to be a Sikh School then Gurmat will always be put first by fundraisers. Practice what you wish to preach. I think that sums it all up. If we have faith in Guruji then we will not make excuses and try to cover up our shortcomings. Those who have faith in Guruji have created Gurdwaras, schools & hospitals within their lifetime and that from plots of lands within jungles. They stuck to Gurmat and the foundations of those institutes are strong for many years to come.
  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Please can all read the below discussion I have been having with so-called community leaders, the attitude they portray towards Sikhi is very worrying; Mr Ranger’s email: Dear All, I am pleased to inform you that the Slough Sikh School is organising a function on the 18th March 2005 at Haveli Banqueting Hall Slough. Details attached. Telephone Numbers for cotact are also there. Please support the school and also at the same time enjoy the evening with good food and people Tickets are only £30 each. Regards, Rami Ranger ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Why couldnt your think tank devise a more honourable way of collecting monies for a Sikh School? Unless I am missing the plot a Sikh School will teach Gurmat. Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us to raise & earn monies in an honest manner (krit kamaie). If we are going to raise money in a banqueting hall surrounded by alcohol & animal carcasses then we are not abiding by Guru Nanak Dev Ji's hukam. Monies raised in an anti Gurmat way cannot be used to promote Gurmat, this is hypocrisy. Is this the best example you can set to the younger generation? Please rethink your strategy before offending other Sikhs. Personally, as a young Sikh, I would rather wait for the donations to slowly trickle in than collect large sums of dirty cash. ---- Mr Ranger’s reply: Lets see how you will serve the Sikh community. By attacking fellow Sikhs you are making the job of anti Sikhs easier. We lost an empire because Sikhs betrayed Sikhs. Is your job to support Sikhs or discredit them? I hope you achieve something good with your actions. As far as I am concerned I sustained employment of 2000 people in Britain in line with our Guru's teachings of hard work and honest living. Do visit my websites below for an education. Fanatic are tarnishing our religion and I hope you are not one of those who hate all those who do not act according to narrow interpretation of Sikh religion. Regards, Rami Ranger Sun Oil Ltd Sun House, 428 Long Drive Greenford, Middlesex UB6 8UH ---- Mr Gidar’s reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I have read you mail to Rami Ranger. Let me clarify some issues. This school is going to be a VA school which will have 20% other faith children. We are not doing anything dishonest, and it is the choice of the people to drink alcohol if they so please. Please can you let me know how you distinguish between the money we give to the gurdawara, some people who own off-licences and restaurants which have meat on the menu donate. I have not seen that money being identified and rejected. Sikhism is about equality and choice and respect for all. Please can you tell me more about Guru Nanak Dev Ji's hukam ( for your kind information Guru Nanak Dev Ji did not make any HUKAMS, he preached)and where it says we cannot raise money for a building to be used as a Sikh School by having a function. Extremism of any kind is dangerous whether they be Muslims or Sikhs. I can assure we will not be pouring alcohol into people’s mouths and putting meat in the dall. The function is not being held in a gurdawara. Kind regards Ravi Gidar ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh! You are blatantly organising an event that is against Sikhi. How more obvious can it be? If you cant see it then you are blind. Its a sorry state of affairs to have people like yourself who are clueless promoting your own blend of Sikhism where everything goes. The School is focused on promoting Sikhi, you are so far from understanding what this means its amasing. Please tell me one sakhi where Guruji said that your kind of function is acceptable. You really have no respect for Guruji and the status Gur Nanak Dev Ji has for Sikhs. Sikhi is based upon Gurmat and for Sikhs this is hukam, there is no two ways about it, its not what you & your other egoist friends want to do. You are creating the anti sikh environment within your function, this is as good as pouring alcohol in peoples mouths. You are very quick to use terms such as extremist. What I have highlighted is the basics of Sikhi, hopefully this is what you will be teaching in the Sikh School. That means that every pupil in this school will become an extremist. If you wish them to be taught wierd Sikhi that you seem to practice then its best to remove "Sikh" from the name and open a normal state school. Reflect on your actions. Promote a Sikh School by actions that promote Guru Nanak Dev Ji. ---- Mr Gidar’s reply: These days it has become fashionable to apply two litmus tests to the definition of a Sikh. One is that of political correctness. We have all been to Sikh gatherings where, if your views fall even a hair short of an independent Sikh homeland, you are quickly branded "anti-Sikh." This also applies to meat and alcohol. I don't want to argue with you guys but let us help in the way we think is best. If you disagree with me then don't participate but don't give complaints about being anti - sikh etc. Ravi Gidar ---- Mr Ranger’s reply: Dear Ravi, Please do not waste your time with a "Bad Mechanic who will always blame his tools" I can easily tell you that this man is neither educated nor successful in his life and being a fanatic is the only credit to his fame. Please let him at least feel superior even though he is not. Regards, Rami Ranger ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! This is the final resort for you to treat me as some little kid and fob me off. I have presented and arguement with substance & truth and its time for you to reflect on what exactly you are promoting. If you cannot understand the damage you will cause then I urge you to stop involving yourself in Sikh Activities as it is beyond your limited capacity. ---- Dr Singh-Raud’s reply: Sat-Siri-Akal Veer Jees, Firstly please lets not get personal in these issues. However I would like to say that there are a number of ways one can help raise money. As far it is not in an illegal manner, is not stained, and is respectful of others views, in my opinion, it is fine. Since there is a wide spectrum of Sikhs, we have to watch that one group does not see itself as the only voice. It is a given fact for example that there are those Khalsa that eat meat (Jhatka)and those that don't eat meat. There is a whole debate on issues such as these, which scholars such as Sundeep Singh Brar(USA) have had an active input. Hence at the Oxford and Cambridge Sikh Alumni Association Dinner we had both vegetarian and meat dishes to cater for both. It was not a religious function, but rather a funding raising academic function for Sikh Scholars and parents of Sikh youths who wanted to support the organisation. The dangers of imposing one groups views on others is that we walk away from Guru Nanak Dev Jee's philosophy of tolerance. Gurfateh Harkirtan Dr H. Singh-Raud JP BSc(Hons), MRSC, CChem, GIBiol, PGCE, MCollP, MEd(Cantab), PhD, FRSA ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Please answer me one question: Will you collect monies for a Gurdwara in the same manner? There is no difference in this School and a Gurdwara. In fact the potential of the School is massive. "The dangers of imposing one groups views on others is that we walk away from Guru Nanak Dev Jee's philosophy of tolerance". This point seems to be directed to my stance on the situation, its seems a nice way for you to label me as an Extremist again. Sikhi ethics is based upon morals rather than what the law sees as legal. This programme is morally wrong. You talk about Guruji's message of tolerence, is that all Guruji taught? Why do you selectively forget the remaining phylosophy? ---- Dr Singh-Raud’s reply: At no point was there any intention to label any one. Just because one takes a stance does not make anyone an extremist. "Yesterday's terrorists are today's freedom fighters". With regards to collection for a gurdwara, it is known that funds are just collected from Sikhs, just as much as this school is not just for the Sikhs but infact for 80% of the Sikhs and 20% other minorities. Veer Jee you say there is no difference between this school and a gurdwara, I beg to differ. The gurdwara is a place of worship (spritual). Finally are you saying that Sikhs are not allowed to eat meat? Gurfateh Harkirtan Dr H. Singh-Raud JP BSc(Hons), MRSC, CChem, GIBiol, PGCE, MCollP, MEd(Cantab), PhD, FRSA ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Will this school not be promoting what is taught in Sadh Sangat in a Gurdwara? If not them please remove Sikh from the school's title. All things that relate to Sikhi should be treated with the same reasoning. Gurmat is not confirmed to a Gurdwara. Sikhs practice in their daily lives and need to remember what they stand for. If you want to attach Sikh to this School then you stick to Gurmat. Its simple. Meat is not served in langar, Akal Takht has issued a hukamnamma on this. Those who wish to disregard are acting out their our manmat. If you wish to feed people meat & alcohol for something promoting "Sikhi" then its hypocritical. Dont pick and choose we must regard Guruji bachan as hukam. And yes meat is not allowed in Sikhi. Everyone knows thats no matter what our learned scholars may think. ---- Mr Ranger’s reply: Dear Harkirtan, Do Sikhs want to move with the times like the rest of the world or do we want to go back to the days when we were fighting the Mughals? The next attack on Sikhs will come from the technological front and if we are not acting and behaving like modern and progressive Sikhs then help us God. Regards, Rami Ranger ---- Dr Singh-Raud’s reply: Dear Rami Veer Jee, I don't understand the root of your question. Sikhs can wear turbans, be amritari and be extremely progressive. Gurfateh Harkirtan Dr H. Singh-Raud JP BSc(Hons), MRSC, CChem, GIBiol, PGCE, MCollP, MEd(Cantab), PhD, FRSA ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Just the answer I expected from Mr Ranger. For you to tarnish our history like this shows the respect you have for Guruji and the Puratan Sikhs WHO died for the Sikh Religion & for Sikh Ethics, they didnt die for you to throw parties. We owe them what we are today, the least we can do is to teach our history, the morals and above all Gurbani to the next generation. However you are instead teaching the next generation to turn their backs to their Forefathers and their sacrifices & principles. Is this the progression you wish to promote? How exactly does my suggestion of fund raising by better means (such as Kirtan Darbars and Sports Events) not make us modern & progressive Sikhs? ---- Mr Ranger’s reply: We also need to be of progressive thinking. I do not see Sikh Prime Minister or the Chief of Army Amrit Dhari. Regards, Rami Ranger Sun Oil Ltd Sun House, 428 Long Drive Greenford, Middlesex UB6 8UH ---- My reply: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! This discussion continues to amaze me and shows the bad attitude you have towards Sikhi, Mr Ranger. You have no value for Guruji. Just to reminder you, but I guess you dont even care, Guru Gobind Singh Ji requested the Panj Pyare himself for Amrit. For you to feel amrit affects a person's progressive thinking is a show of your narrow mindedness. The more I look into your thinking I feel more worried about what you actually stand for.
  18. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! London cannot allow 'Bezhti' play to be performed. What can we do? We must make our voice hear in large numbers to the right institutions and organisations: Voice your concerns about the play: 1) Abuses Gurbani, playing in the background 2) Has props such as palki sahib, chaur sahib etc 3) Promotes stereotyping of Sikhs 4) Backlash in Birmingham 5) Importance of Gurdwara in Sikhism 6) A blatant attempt to be offensive rather than freedom of speech 7) London as a multicultural city does not stand for this 8) Racism exists in Arts Institutes & they justifying themselves saying its freedom of speech 9) Open condemnation of play by many Religious figure heads and institutes 10) DCMS/Arts Council must intervene, ultimately they directly or indirectly have control over theatres. I just heard on BBC London News that the Royal Court Theatre is thinking about showing the play. Khalsa Ji we still have time to stop this from happening, we must be voice concerns to the right authorities: 1) Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell Department for Culture Media & Sport 2-4 Cockspur Street London SW1Y 5DH Tel: 020 7211 6200 enquiries@culture.gov.uk 2) Arts Council England, London 2 Pear Tree Court London EC1R 0DS Phone: 0845 300 6200 Fax: 020 7608 4100 Textphone: 020 7973 6564 enquiries@artscouncil.org.uk 3) Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, London SW1W 8AS. 19. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Just saw this on tapoban.org: Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji retrieved from Hilton Hotel, London. (21st November 2004) Yesterday, three young Sikhs were set upon when they went to the Hilton hotel in Park Lane. They had gone to investigate an unconfirmed report that Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji was going to be present for a wedding ceremony. Incomplete information had been provided anonymously to the 'Respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Campaign'. Having entered the hotel, they found and paid respects to Guru ji. The bards was headed by Harbans Suraj from Gillingham, Kent. Also praises were being sung of ‘Sant’ Madho, This ‘Sant’ has partaken in promoting this abuse of Guru ji. His name was also on the invites distributed by the families. One Singh was grabbed and physically pushed out of the 'ballroom' where Guru ji was present. He was asked 'You here to cause trouble aren't you?' The Singh replied that we are here just to find out what is going on and nothing else. A crowd of guests from the Groom’s side surrounded him and the other Sikhs, shouting and pushing. When a security guard approached they calmed down, but then started to punch at the three Sikhs. One Singh was punched in the face by a member of the Groom’s side. The police were called and a complaint of assault was logged by the Sikhs. The three Sikhs waited outside for Guru ji’s saroop to emerge. The police had been informed that the Sikhs would be waiting to see where Guru ji was brought from because it was against Sikh ethics and code of conduct. The police did not have a problem with this and left. After, an hour of being watched by security, a van was seen entering the hotel via the goods in entrance of the hotel, which was in a filthy state. Also this entrance is in constant use with deliveries including that of alcohol and meat. Hilton security tried to intimidate the Sikhs by blocking their car and telling them to leave. The Sikhs refused and insisted that they had a right to wait in their car and they could do nothing about it. After waiting another hour, a group of concerned guests approached. They apologised for the behaviour of the family and other guests. They made it clear that bringing Guru ji to the hotel was wrong. They also apologised for the attack on them, and wanted to help resolve the situation. The so-called Granthi's were afraid to come out. The Sikhs said they were prepared to wait as long as it takes - either they would take Guru ji saroop to a safe Gurdwara Sahib or they would follow the 'Granthi's' back from where they had come. When they were told this, the 'Granthi's' immediately agreed to hand over Guru ji’s saroop. The three Sikhs washed their hands and did an Ardaas in front of Guru ji to ask for forgiveness. After an hour of travel, Guru ji saroop reached a Gurdwara Sahib where a Granthi Singh was waiting and Sukh Asan was done after an Ardaas. GurFateh! Respect For Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Campaign
  20. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Satvinder Singh is also responsible for Guru Maharaj's beadbi at Clay Oven, Alperton. This is where he is contracted to sing bollywood songs during the evenings. So called weddings that have taken place at Clay Oven where waiters walk around the hall with uncovered heads & shoes on. I remember speaking to a Campaign Singh who spoke to Sarl when he was uncovered at Vikrams Occassions Palace Slough a couple of weeks ago. He pretended to be apologetic and promised never to do this beadbi of Guruji again. He is a maha paapi and the Sangat must stop him from making money from Guruji. 16th October 2004 saw another so called wedding at Vikram's Occassions Palace again organised by Sarl. Sangat Ji, this is scam and has to be broken immediately.
  21. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Param Singh You seem to be speaking to yourself!
  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! His ways of promoting religion need to be used within Punjabi communities who are further drifting away from Sikhi. But maybe its easy to show an outsider the beauty of Sikhi rather than to those who think they know it. BhaiSahib has written his name in Sikh History.
  23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Come on, they dont have two minutes to spare! All their time is taken up by writing long and meaningless postings!!
  24. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Go for in R Kaur Bhenji, dont let 'Another Panthsewak' take all the limelight!!
  25. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! 'Another Panthsewak' You do not represent Brent Sikh Centre Committee. We want them to speak i.e. Hoonjan. You must be getting writers cramp. Your wishy washy rubbish talks about everything under the sun but does not give the Sangat confidence that BSC will stop this beadbi immediately. How do we know that your attempts justify BSC are because there are another 10 weddings in hotels booked this year! Give the Sangat confidence that this will not happen again, its not rocket science. Again your attitude is childish, you are living in some fantasy world of conspiracies and deceptions. Please ask BSC committee to come out of this paranoia and face reality of their actions. The BSC is not a cult or sect, they are answerable members of the Sikh Community, it’s life of a committee member. We apologise if Avtar Hoonjan has to suddenly start acting as a President. ‘Another Panthsewak’, your immature replies will continuously be challenged by constructive criticism.
