  1. Dear cyber sangat vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Try this link also http://www.sikhspirit.com/ it has some of what you are looking for.
  2. Dear cyber sangat vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! please discuss what does being blessed with Amrit mean to you. NOT how you felt at the Amrit Sanchaar or how you felt afterwards. I'm interested in - why did you approach the Punj Pyare for the Amrit blessing. why did you do it. thanks in advance.
  3. I was thinking along the lines of what Guru Nanak Dev ji says...Nanak dhoor mangay Gursikh kee, jo Naam japay avara Naam JAPAVAY. Others (non-Sikhs and Sikhs who don't know much) will only start investigating if they can first see conceptually how Sikhi can help them in their lives, enrich ones life with truthful living and Santokh, what benefits is to be had from Naam japna . Then they will develop the urge to do it and experience the Anand. I don't think that it means go and do what our brothers and sisters of other religions do. Your absolutely right veer ji.
  4. Dear Sangat, vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Ask yourself - what was about these new friends that made our brothers or sisters convert? - These new friends were probably caring, approachable, sympathetic. Are you? - They could show how their religion could help them in their lives - Can you?
  5. Dear Sangat, vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Nitnem is important I think it is suggested to be done daily so that its message may become infused within us, to guide us in our Naam Simran, yeh that means we MUST not just stop at - 'doing panj bani', we gotta look beyond that - Naam Simran!! The message of Guru ji is pointing to realising the purity that exists within, that is blossomed forth with "Sat, Santokh, and Vichaar". So lets try NOT to use our manmukh thinking and start latching onto one and forget the other. A Gurmukh wannabe
  6. - A projector screen with real-time translations of keertan sung would be a great help for them. - Q&A session fitted in too
  7. Dear Sangat, Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I go the Gurdwara many times and there are 'professional ragis' there singing keertan. Some people are listening, some are talking etc...But this weekend just gone was something else! No professional ragis sitting on a little stage, Young Sikh veerjis and penjis (non-professional ragis) singing Gurbani and doing Simran. They sat in the sangat and we all sat just behind them, which really added to the spirit of unity and singing Gurbani together. Numerous Sikhs took the lead and sang simple and beautiful Shabads, lots of Simran too. There was a big screen there too which helped to understand what we were singing and to get our pronouncation right. The whole experience was so uplighting, full of many emotions. All by coming together in Sadh sangat and singing the glorious bani. If you get this chance, please do go and sing along! I promise you there is nothing like it! thank you Vaheguru! nb. The programme is on every last Saturday of the month at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, , Park Avenue, Southall, UK.
