  1. I had a vision as well !!!

I saw that we were all so busy deciding how we are going to die, whether a flood, a war, earthquake, fire...etc... that by getting so busy and caught up in the 'HOW' of the final days, that most of us that would have become 'mukht' and merged with 'Akaal Purakh' had actually walked very far and in the opposite direction of this merging and liberation. !

What Good did this talk do to anyone ???

Maybe the final days is making us think about Vaheguru more than you possibly know. After all, doesn't Gurbani teach us to always remember death :) Death is just another path.

  2. People need to learn to show some respect because everyone here is mocking the topic starter without any shame. I actually don’t understand what is so funny. So does everyone here believe the world will continue as normal forever? I think it’s rather the opposite- most people here are still living in their own dreamland. In their sense, there is no sikhi. Because with sikhi there’s justice and this world is getting burdened down of sin and India has proven this today.

Whether nothing happens soon or within our lifetime, it will still happen one day.

  3. all im sayng is that at the time of our gurus, women were not forced to wear dastaars. none of the sikh guru'z wife were told do do so either.

it is optional for women. not men. its not reely my opinion. its just how our history is.

I'm sorry I never knew you existed in that period of time.

How can wearing a dastar be optional for women, not men? That would mean a dastar has no significance whatsoever.

Anyway, this is what I believe so I'm not going to say any more to this.

  4. I strongly believe every man and woman should wear a dastar whether they believe it is one of the kakkars or not.

It is a rehat that we shouldn’t wear makeup or jewellery.

  5. Guru Granth Sahib Ji says those who argue about meat are fools and Guru Granth Sahib Ji also says that the poor ganna that we excrete juice from (sugar cane) also feels pain.

Sikhs don't eat meat because we don't have to. Plain and simple and because of the effect it has on our jeevan. Plants are living beings as well but are better to eat than animals. With that said agricultural malpractices are also a big sin and are just as bad as eating meat. In Punjab these pesticides have destroyed the ecosystem and rid the beautiful Punjab of its greenery and rich and fertile land.

    Einstein said:

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." —Albert Einstein

I'm surprised you're turning this into an argument. The OP believes meat is wrong and I'm giving my opinion why I believe it is immoral. Do you believe Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh was a fool to argue over meat too. We can eat vegetation because it does not feel pain. Even though there may be some bad karma but it is not as worse as animals who feel extreme pain as humans.

If you understood that shabad about those who argue about meat are fools, you would understand it is referring to the word Meat, not meat itself because guru sahib is talking about pandits who behave extremely by covering their ears whenever they hear the word meat. That's why the shabad says 'MAAS MAAS', twice not once because it is referring to the WORD. Just like har har means the name, not the person.

Other than that, I still have complete respect for everyone, even if they eat meat. But many are beginning to realise eating meat is wrong.

Anyway, I'm not saying any more, that's my opinion.

  6. Going on from the post above by Shadow, joot aside, as an Amritdhari, surely the OP should impress on their children not to eat any foodstuffs containing eggs or other ingredients not permitted for people who've taken amrit? If the children decide to continue (or abandon) this when they grow older that's their choice, but at least put some structure into place?

Although I wouldn't say people who do eat eggs, meat, etc., don't have morals and values, lol. Not that I do eat any of that stuff, but there's many strict vegetarians who are also lacking in the morals and values department. :biggrin2:

Meat eaters still have compassion but we need to understand all living creatures matter since they feel pain and have the desire to live just as us. So, eating meat is immoral because you're putting your desires before another's pain. Plus as a sikh we're supposed to remove our bad karma.

  7. Waheguruji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh.. By Mistake I took a sip out of my daughter's pop.. it was a an innocent mistake ... I amritdhari and my daughter who is six not.. what should I do.. she have not eaten meat .. but she eat cookies and candys with egs in them.. .. What to Do .. PLZ.. I am SO SO SO SORRY....

First of all, you shouldn't make this into a big deal. Just do ardas and move on.

But Only Five is right, you should get your children to take Chula and why are you allowing your daughter to eat egg? There are plenty of cookies and candies without egg. If you're a strict vegetarian, then you should bring your children up in the same way. That's your daughters decision to make when she is older whether she wants to continue being a strict vegetarian. Although she wouldn't if you bring her up with morals and values.

  8. HAHAHA ^ those quotes above can be find nowhere except on sikhism sites !

I doubt whether those great minds ever said anything positive about sikhism ( hell , did bertrand russel even knew about sikhism ? lolz) when they criticized other faiths !

Although I agree there aren't any sources for those quotes, I don't understand why we would even need quotes from them..picture them next to Sant Jarnail Singh and Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh, they can't even compare to their great minds!

  9. Baji if your serious about this, give me a massage, ill tell you how i controlled it and Guru kirpa have been free of this for 3 years

To be honest I think that'll only exacerbate the problem, depending on which way our brother swings.

    :blush2:

    HAHAAH OMG!!! HAHAAHAH

i see girls at skool da sluts i mean and they fakn add to my problem -_- fak man i need to w8 10 years till marriage and i am stuck wit sluts -_- .

I'm sorry but how do you even find those kind of women attractive? I just will never understand you men. lol If this is what you're like now and you dont make effort to change yourself through naam and bani you will only get worse. So, you'll become a horrible husband for any singhni. You should think about how much of a loser you look when you do lustful things.

A a great sikh once told me when you do this deed its what you are thinking off effects your mind. However the deed is natural to every human being male and female. The singh told me that it can happen like twice a month because the body needs to stimulate that feeling but it should be purely physical and the mind should be clean. When growing up the hormones are playing up more so its perfectly natural but you need to control your mind rather than just the urge. Make sure your mind is connected with guruji all the time.

That's rubbish. A real singh/singhni is unaffected by kaam. That sikh should not use their weaknesses as an excuse and justify why it is ok for everyone else to do such a disgusting lowly act.

  10. WJKK WJKF

Brothers and sisters I need your help, I fear I am leaving the path of righteousness.

I have a muslim friend and he keeps telling me about Islam and it all just seems to make sense.

He told me that Guru Nanak dev ji was a muslim and went to Mecca, is this true?!!

He also said in Islam only muslims go to heaven, but in Sikhism it says you just need to be a good person.

Is any of this true, I need to know before its too late!

You should tell your muslim "friend" Gurbani says heaven is the same as hell. And us Sikhs (if we practice sikhi properly) go to Saachkhand, a place much higher than Heaven.

Hasn't he told you they believe there are 40 virgins waiting for them in their heaven? How is that pure or heavenly? So they control themselves their entire lives just to engage in all that when they die?! What was the point in that self control is that's where it gets them? Sikhs call those actions lowly and like dust. We engage in pleasures much higher through the dasam duar with Vaheguru which is something a muslim will never understand. And yes that is why sikhi is all about being a good person and living your life truthfully.

You need to learn about your own religion. There is no use calling yourself a Sikh if you do not know much about sikhi.

  12. Bestiality and incest are not the same as homosexuality. Are you saying that homosexuality is as big a perversion as bestiality or incest? What next, all homo's are potential kiddy fiddlers?!?! FFS!

I don't think homosexuality is the same as incest and bestiality. All I was saying was homosexuality has become the norm as time as gone on and the same can happen with bestiality and incest but it doesn't make it right. As a SIKH we should lead our life as our Gurus did and they all married the opposite gender. As a sikh we're supposed to conquer our mind so we shouldn't attach ourselves to anyone. That's not the bigger picture in sikhi.

  13. Some comments here are disgusting. So much for view all of humanity as one.

No one here hates homosexuals or thinks they are bad but some things just aren’t acceptable in sikhi. Of course in kalyug you would think homosexuality is normal because it is widely acceptable by everyone just because they are in Love. But would you accept bestiality or incest as morally right just because they are in “love”. You have to draw the line and no, homosexuality isn’t right in sikhi because man and woman are meant to be together. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. Sikhs are supposed to have a gristhi jeevan and that involves procreating.

  14. I believe homosexuals should have equal rights, be viewed as human beings just like everyone else, but they can't get married under Sikh values. As Sikhs you drop your personal desires and go through Anand Karaj (same sex can not go through Anand Karaj).

As long as they are clear they are not Sikhs then it's fine.

  15. Personally find Sikhnet people / 3ho pretty strange (putting it nicely). Majority of their practices are really odd. Find a lot of their videos talk non-sense when it comes to what's right/wrong in Sikhi. Having spoken to a few 3HOs in recent years I think its best to stay away lol

I also noticed they are usually neutral about what they believe is right and wrong (e.g. cutting hair, sex before marriage) but when it came to bibek rehit or jhoota they immediately said it was wrong and put those people down who practice it.

A few years ago, there was a video on their website where they put Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in a cupboard for sukhasan. A few Sikhs (including myself) complained that it was disrespectful. Although they gave their reason why they don’t think it’s disrespectful, they suddenly said that Guru Sahib is our slave and that we are higher than Guru Sahib. I was completely shocked to hear that. Why would a sikh believe guru sahib is our slave?!

I've also seen on their forums quite a few times that they think a woman is allowed to get laser treatment if she has facial hair because its not natural. Clearly it is natural if most women genetically have facial hair.

  16. I never demanded it, man read what people are typing instead of reading what you want to hear, i think you just have a misconception of what reasonable Athests believe.

You were still asking others to prove it even if you said it indirectly or directly. And now here you say, ‘I have tangible proof’ when you could have provided that proof at the beginning instead of being a circus clown.

Uh Atheists believe there is no God. Not hard to understand. If you think I have any disrespect for atheists you’re wrong, in fact I have the same respect for everyone but the way Ajeet came boasting on this forum was inappropriate. But instead you were applauding his childish behaviour. There’s something called having a sensible discussion or just being a fool to provoke argument. It’s equally stupid if a theist did the same thing on an atheist forum.

    Btw, this is funny LOL

  17. Ajeet? I dont think he asked whether i believe or not, but for these kinda of debates on whether God is true or not is exactly what Guru shaibs did when he came to earth interms of qulling the miths Hindus held also Muslim though according to Guru Nanak they were half way there in believing in 1 God, its just that we Sikhs are to humble or scared off opening the book of whether what we believe is true or not, due to the fact once its open, it may not be reconcilable.

Far as my Belief im 100% sure of a there's a being that created him self. But I have tangible proof.

Why don't you give proof because you were demanding everyone else to prove it.
