  2. yes thats the step we need to take <_< .....rather then putting faith in our ego and desires complete faith will lead to complete surrender of the self to the Guru. So I feel thats the first and only step we need to take.

  4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Im glad that you started reading this everyday. Im not perfect though... i do miss some days.. although if all of us collaborate we can post the missed hukamnama up everyday... and we get to read the Guru's Words for the day.
  5. Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Jee Ki Fateh In JapJi Sahib, it says.... "The state of the faithful cannot be described." We all believe there is Guru and IkOnkar, but do we have complete faith in all the teachings? Do we have complete 100% faith, or is it that we give 80% faith to the Guru, and the rest 20% faith to the ego and desires? Wouldnt we consciously die if we gave the remaining 20% faith to the Guru? What are your thoughts on this? I believe the step of faith is the only step we need to take to become one with Waheguru. Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Jee Ki Fateh
  6. another thing .. while saying the mool mantra or the guru mantra (waheguru) feel the meaning of it.. then it will work its power. === waheguru
  7. princess : There is only one best friend and it is IkOnKar / Guru , who is everpresent in your heart, just have to look within. If you love someone then love the Guru within that person. Guru Hai bani. make bani your best friend. It's formless, and you mite find it hard to concentrate on words. although once you get into it, there will be no stopping.
  8. it's more of a 'Im cool' feeling thing.. where everyone talks that way... not doing the same way will make the person left out and less 'Im cool'. Its hard to be different. The company a person chooses so does he become

  14. The true saint will call you when you are ready. Dont follow any saints who are after maya.
  15. *Welcome to the forums* Great post, I agree with your points; well said. If the inside is not good then there is no point in keeping hair as well. Something to think about ... how many ppl are there who are good within and keep hair compared to the number of people who are just good outside by keeping hair. Even though we should strive for the best and shouldnt make excuse since we arent good inside then we shouldnt even keep hair. As you said most people these days cut hair for fashion purposes.
  16. but this topic is not limited to women only. It also applies to men who say that keeping hair is not important as much as the purity of inner self.
  17. yes your right re 2) not all sikhs are rightaway meant to be khalsa, but after learning and experincing life, they will eventually become a true khalsa. re 3) i quoted kabir just to show that how he didnt care about worldly things, kabir says "He doesnt know anyone but everyone knows him" He only knows God" people went to kabir for his teachings which made a sangat. kabir didnt invite them but the seekers follow.
  18. its natural here in the west and also east that men have short hair and women have usually long hair. so the women blend in easily with long hair. whereas the men dont. hope that helps..
  19. quoting you on 2) Not everyone can be a true khalsa, im not creating a caste system here which is only accessible to the elite or superior. Im suggesting you that not everyone can offer their head to the Guru, when during the creation of the khalsa only five of his beloved sikhs came out. Why ? Because people are in love with maya not with the guru. The same situation exists today. Sant Attar Singh ji once said " I see only a handful of khalsa in this world" People use khalsa as their last name but that is not that their a khalsa, but out of pride; whereas khalsa has no pride. quoting on 3) we should not seek self respect and confidence they are only for the ego. read the life story of kabir. kabir has no friends, only God is his friend.
  20. Sissy : Physical fitness is important. yes thats true Quoting you "on that basis u could say that uncut hair is not the most important because it came last in the order" so i guess physical fitness since it was said by the second guru ,Guru Angad Dev ji is of higher importance and Guru Angad Dev Ji came before so we should listen to that adivce more then that of Guru Gobind Singh Ji ? Guru Angad Dev Ji might not have explicitly said to keep hair , but it is implicitly implied by looking at the lifestyle of the Gurus. none of the Gurus or their families ever cut their hair. Guru Gobind Singh Ji has compiled the definition of sikh. So it is our duty to follow it. I know these days women are drawn into makeup and hair but its not appropriate to come up with these clever notions of trying to find ways around of not keeping hair. Its more harder for men to keep hair then women. Because for Women hair is her natural beauty, which she tradionally doesnt reveal to anyone out of respect. maybe women like Sonia Deol should look at the 3ho sikhs and see how devoted they are. There seems to be a world of difference. you are saying these women are humble, i find them to be very prideful of the way of they look, they way they talk, their actions etc, there is no sign of humilty at all.
  21. It is hard to go through situations like this while having a ego/self awareness. Some of the options the person would have is *. Take treatments to cure it in time.. there are some ones, which will completely stop your facial hair growth. But I figure you will want to do this before your amritdhari and after u have taken amrit, the facial hair will not grow anymore. *. And if your amritdhari and facial hair grows in large amounts creating too many problems? But i wonder if they really would be problems, if someone really loves you then he would not care about your physical appearance, this is also a test of love. If you are a female and have large amounts of facial hair, and are happy with it, you are one in millions, something you should be proud of. But pride doesnt exist in the dictionary of the khalsa. Not everyone can be a true khalsa. *. If the person is not amritdhari yet and want to continue cutting the hair then they should not take amrit unless they can follow the rules. *. And if the person is amritdhari , and cuts hair, then ask for fogiveness from the guru. Ofcourse having faith in the Guru. To have 100% faith in the Guru is having no ego. Read banis with faith. Hope this helps some.
  22. we never know during the past 100,000 of births we mite have been that person.. lol
  23. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh this relates to the video on sikhifm http://www.sikhifm.com/video_index.htm download "sikhs and the city" During the video it comes across this modern "sikh" girl whose claim is that "Its not important to keep hair, if the inner self is good" And her mother supports this. What are your views on this. I was pretty disgusted at the way they can say these clever stuff and denying the fact that Guru Gobind Singh Ji said to keep hair. Are we wiser then the Guru or is the Guru wiser then us. "Hundreds of thousands of clever tricks will not go with you in the end" I like to hear your views on this
  24. whats wrong with the girl having earrings in the pic? This is the first time im hearing this...
