  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Lowest of the low singhni you can try doing katha by yourself but from what I’ve heard and read that method is only available to a handful of people worldwide. Try listening to the following katha by Gyani Thakur Singh of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Taksal: http://www.gurmatveechar.com/audio/katha/katha.php?q=f&f=%2F02_Present_Day_Katha%2FGiani_Thakur_Singh_%28Patiala_wale%29%2FLavan Btw K.Singh Deep I don’t agree with the statement you made on the Brahmgyani Nishani thread. The Brahmgyani question was actually asked by a Sikh to Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj who instructed them to seek out Bhai Bhikari as an example of a Brahmgyani. See Bhai Mani Singh Ji’s Sikhan Bhagat Mala and Bhai Santokh Singh Ji’s Suraj Prakash for further details. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  3. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Waheguruji. May Guru Sahib continue to bless his Khalsa panth with soldiers like Dhan Dhan Amar Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh Ji and Dhan Dhan Amar Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh Ji whose only wish was to continue taking birth to die once again for this beautiful flower which is sikhi. 4. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Many times when we go to the Gurudwara Sahib for an Anand Karaj we spend a lot of time pointing out the manmat activities some families partake in such as grooms wearing kalgis, brothers helping their sister during lavaan etc. Unfortunately this is the only thing that people like me take from such occasions. Below is the story of a hindu man who attended such an Anand Karaj who managed to take away the blessing of Sikhi and Brahmgyan. Bhai Nihaal Chand was invited by a family to attend the Anand Karaj of one of their sons/daughters. He bowed before Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and sat in Guru Sahib’s darbar. While listening to the lavaan Bhai Nihaal Chand was deeply moved. After the programme he approached the Gyani Ji who was a very learned and naam abhiyaasi Gursikh and asked him if he would explain the lavaan arth to him. The Gurmukh immediately sat Bhai Nihaal Chand down and began to explain Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Raam Das Ji’s lavaan to Bhai Sahib. When the Gurmukh completed explaining the final thuk: jan naanak bolae chouthhee laavai har paaeiaa prabh avinaasee ||4||2|| Servant Nanak proclaims that, in this, the fourth round of the marriage ceremony, we have found the Eternal Lord God. ||4||2|| Bhai Nihaal Chand began to cry and begged Guru Sahib to bless him with Amrit. In this way Guru Sahib’s lavaan bestowed Brahmgyan on him and changed him from Bhai Nihaal Chand to Sant Nihaal Singh. Sant Nihaal Singh was subsequently blessed with the construction seva of Gurudwara Sahib’s associated with Satguru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadhur Sahib Ji in Uttar Pradesh. Waheguruji. 5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sant Baba Shaam Singh Ji was a beautiful Sikh of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj who dedicated his life to seva. For over 70 years Sant Baba Shaam Singh Ji was blessed with kirtan seva at Sackhand Sri Darbar Sahib. Every morning as Sant Ji made his way to the house of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Raam Das Ji Maharaj he would lead the sangat in singing: This Shabad is by Bhagat Kabeer Ji in Raag Bilaaval on Ang 856 bilaaval || Bilaaval: dharamaadhae t(h)aadtae dharabaar || I stand humbly at Your Court. thujh bin surath karai ko maeree dharasan dheejai kholih kivaar ||1|| rehaao || Who else can take care of me, other than You? Please open Your door, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause|| thum dhhan dhhanee oudhaar thiaagee sravananh suneeath sujas thumhaar || You are the richest of the rich, generous and unattached. With my ears, I listen to Your Praises. maago kaahi ra(n)k sabh dhaekho thumh hee thae maero nisathaar ||1|| From whom should I beg? I see that all are beggars. My salvation comes only from You. ||1|| jaidhaeo naamaa bip sudhaamaa thin ko kirapaa bhee hai apaar || You blessed Jai Dayv, Naam Dayv and Sudaamaa the Brahmin with Your infinite mercy. kehi kabeer thum sa(n)mrathh dhaathae chaar padhaarathh dhaeth n baar ||2||7|| Says Kabeer, You are the All-powerful Lord, the Great Giver; in an instant, You bestow the four great blessings. ||2||7|| One time as Mahapursh was walking towards Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib at amritwela he noticed that one of the shops which sold badam milk was left unattended. As Sant Ji proceeded he saw that the shopkeeper was sleeping on the floor. Beside him there was a large tub which was filled to the top with used cups. Sant Ji immediately went over to the tub and while continuing with his Naam Simran began to wash the dirty cups. As Mahapursh made his way through the cups the shopkeeper woke up to the beautiful sound of Guru Sahib’s kirtan. The shopkeeper looked around and instantly recognised Sant Ji as Mahapursh used to make this journey every day. The shopkeeper reached for Sant Ji’s feet and with tears in his eyes asked Mahapursh why a bramhgyani, a kirtani of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj was washing dirty cups. Mahapursh smiled and said, “Gurmukho, what else is this body for? I do an ardas to Maharaj to bless me with such seva.” May Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj bless all his beloved Sikhs with such an outlook. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  7. Killing an old, unarmed woman in cold blood is justice? They took an oath to protect her! It just made things worse!! I feel you are out of line by bringing Guru Gobind Singh into this affair. You must have not understood what I wrote earlier or you need your eyes checked because I was NOT giving you kind any words in my earlier post. I would like to make that very clear, so save your reverse pyschology mumbo jumbo for another sucker. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Before you made your return to the Sikh Sangat forums for the umpteenth time (peacemaker, cobracommander et al) it would have been very beneficial for you to have studied sikh history, philosophy and dharam yudh vidiya as prescribed by Miri Piri Patshah Satguru Sri Guru Har Gobind Sahib Ji Maharaj. In addition to improving your spiritual jeevan it would also prevent you from making such foolish remarks that are based on your own mat. To all the other posters why bother celebrating the death of Gandhi when we can instead celebrate the beautiful shaheedis of Amar Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh Ji and Amar Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh Ji. 10. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Doing ishnaan at sarovaars that have been blessed by Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj’s charankamal is very beneficial spiritually. Rather than call something Brahmanwaad your friend should have first humbly stood on each step with the sangat’s charan-dhuri on his forehead and recited Sri Jap Ji Sahib Ji 84 times. After doing this with full faith he would know if it’s Bramanwaad or not. Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Amar Das Ji Maharaj. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  17. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindranwale used to tell the following story during his diwans to the sangat: In Maharashtra, a state located on the western coast of India, district Ahmednagar at Sri Rampur on the banks of the Godavari river there was a village. On the outskirts of this village there was an Udasi sant who was known to the people of the village as Bawa Ji. Bawa Ji was blessed by Guru Sahib with the seva of a hand written Bir of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. This seva was performed by Bawa Ji with a lot of sharda and love. A few times the village would be flooded with water from the Godavari river which would destroy the villagers crops, homes and sometimes the villagers themselves. One time as the water levels began to rise and the village began to flood all the villagers went to the place where Bawa Ji stayed and with folded hands did a benti to him to help save them. Bawa Ji got up and performed an ardas infront of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj with a lot of prem and sharda. He then placed Maharaj on his head and began to walk in the direction of the flooded village. All the sangat who had gathered followed him. When he got to the village Bawa Ji with Maharaj placed on his head then stood in the water. A few moments later the water began to recede. In this way every time the village flooded an ardas would be done to Satguru Ji to save the village with their beautiful charan kamal and every time Maharaj would. This sakhi is especially relevant to Sikhs like me who fail to see Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj for what they really are (See below). 18. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time Gyani Mohan Singh Ji Rare Sahib wale visited Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindranwale and asked Mahapursh what the signs of a Brahmgyani were. Sant Ji smiled and said, When one has completely destroyed any essence of ego such that it does not come even to them in their dreams. When one has defeated all vikaars and sees Wahegurus light everywhere in each and every soul then the nishani of Brahmgyan will be hoisted. Gurmat principles demand that even when one achieves such an avastha they still should think of themselves as the slave of everyone. Bhai Paramjeet Singh Mahalpurwale said that one evening at Sachkhand Sri Punjokara Sahib Ji when all the sangat was standing for ardas after katha he began to feel unwell and took hold of Sant Jis arm for support. At this point Bhai Sahib thought to himself that as I am standing near a Mahapursh Naam Simran should start. As soon as this thought passed though his mind Naam Simran began in Bhai Sahibs heart. Bhai Sahib stated that when he was near to Sant Ji Naam Simran continued but as soon as he moved away from Mahapursh this type of Naam Simran stopped. To achieve Brahmgyan one must be completely in love with the beautiful charankamal of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. It is not something which comes about just like that but requires effort. For example one time on the Avtar Purab of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj Sant Ji and twelve other Singhs from the jatha had organised 127 Sri Akhand Paat Sahibs to be conducted. Mahapursh at 2am in the night would go into a hut and sit there doing Naam Abhiyaas until 11am when he would come out. In the evening Sant Ji would do paat for one hour and the rest of the Singhs from the jatha would listen with their Sri Pothi Sahibs. 19. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji were a father and son who were beloved Gursikhs of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj. Although these two Gursikhs were very poor materialistically they were very rich spiritually. On one occasion they had travelled to be blessed with Guru Ji’s darshan. After arriving in Guru Ji’s darbar and kissing Maharaj’s charankamal they did a benti to Guru Sahib to bless their village with his holy presence. Maharaj smiled at his two beloved Sikhs and accepted their request. In the presence of his Sangat Maharaj told all the Sikhs that they would be going to Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji’s house on such and such a day. Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji headed home with tears of happiness as they had been blessed by Maharaj with such a mahaan seva. Many times we often question how we will be able to do a seva that Guru Sahib has himself given us. But look at these two beloved Sikhs of Guru Sahib who didn’t have any maya to their name begging Maharaj for this seva. Bhai Suman Ji and his son Bhai Moosan Ji began to work day and night on the land of a rich man. Every day they would take the Name of Dhan Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj on their lips and would not stop working for sleep or food or water. With Maharaj firmly implanted in their minds all they thought about was the seva that they had been blessed with. After working very hard in this way finally the day of their payment had arrived. Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji had planned to use this money to buy all the things they required to make Guru Sahib’s langar with their own hands. When they went to see the rich man to collect their payment their clothes were dripping with sweat and had been stained with blood from their limbs. The rich man opened his door when he noticed Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji were coming, looked at them and simply refused to pay them for the work that they had done. Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji were heartbroken and went home. They were deeply saddened not that the rich man had refused to pay them but that they would not be able to perform Guru Sahib’s seva. After a while they though to themselves that the money they are owed is their right. They soon made a plan to go back to the rich man’s house in the night to take what was rightfully theirs. At night Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji used a ladder to climb into the house of the rich man. Bhai Moosan Ji went in first, slipped and was dangling from the rich man’s ceiling. As Bhai Moosan Ji was dangling he began to hear voices and realised that the rich man’s family had woken up. Without a second thought Bhai Moosan Ji looked up to his father had said, “Pita Ji cut my head off”. Bhai Moosan Ji had asked his father to do this as he knew that if the rich man came and saw him dangling there word would get around that Sikhs of Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj are thieves. This is the love Gursikhs have for their Guru. Bhai Suman Ji knew this too and quickly took out his sword and with one blow cut his son’s head off. This is the love Gursikhs have for their Guru. Bhai Suman Ji wrapped his son’s head in a cloth and went home leaving his body there. When the rich man came out he saw a dead body which had been decapitated on the floor. He then began to think that if people come to know that there is a dead body in my house they will think that I am a murderer. With the help of one of his servants he put Bhai Moosan Ji’s body on a cart and decided to take the body to the house of Bhai Suman Ji and Bhai Moosan Ji as these were the only honest people that he knew who he could depend on. When he arrived at Bhai Suman Ji’s house he gave Bhai Suman Ji the money that was owed to them. He then told him that there was a body that he had bought with him in the cart that he wanted them to get rid of. Bhai Suman Ji took his son’s body from the cart and into his house. He then placed it with the head of Bhai Moosan Ji that he had brought back and covered both with a sheet. Bhai Suman Ji did an ardas to Maharaj and thanked Guru Ji. He then began to make the langar for all the sangat who were due to arrive the following morning. In the morning Bhai Suman Ji’s beloved Guru arrived with his sangat. As Guru Ji was about to have his langar he looked at Bhai Suman Ji and said, “Suman where is your son Moosan I haven’t seen him. Go and call him.” Guru Ji then turned towards the house where Bhai Suman Ji had covered his son’s head and body and started calling out to Moosan. As soon as Guru Maharaj did this Bhai Moosan Ji came out of the house and bowed together with his father Bhai Suman Ji at the charankamal of their beloved Guru. Akho Satnaam Sri Waheguru. 21. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time Subedhar Major Sodhi Harbhajan Singh Ji was posted to Kashmir as part of the Border Security Force. Here at Sri Nagar Asthan Singh Sabha Gurudwara Sahib Baba Ji performed katha which was attended in large numbers by the local sangat and the other Fauji Singhs. One evening Baba Ji spoke very passionately about doing darshan and namaskar of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and what effects this would have on a Gursikh and their jeevan. A Fauji Singh who was sat in Guru Sahib’s darbar listened to Bana Ji’s katha and was deeply moved. After going home he did an ardas to Maharaj begging Guru Sahib to light the flame of Sikhi in his heart. The next day the Fauji Singh came into the Darbar Sahib as Baba Ji was speaking and walked towards Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj before kissing Maharaj’s charankamal. Instead of lifting his head back up and taking his place in the Sangat the Fauji Singh kept his forehead firmly planted at the feet of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Throughout Baba Ji’s katha the Fauji Singh kept his forehead at Maharaj’s charankamal. Once Baba Ji had finished speaking some Sikhs asked him what they should do about the Fauji Singh. Baba Ji smiled and asked them to leave him where he was. In this way the Fauji Singh’s forehead remained with his Guru during Sri Anand Sahib Ji, Ardas and Maharaj’s Hukamanama. After about 2 hours the Fauji Singh finally lifted his head. When he did so the sangat who were still there saw that his face was shiny brightly and that his eyes were red. The Fauji Singh immediately roared a Fateh and then looked at Baba Ji and said, “I’m so surprised! I never knew it was this easy to be blessed by Guru Ji. I never knew that it was this easy for the flame of Sikhi to be lit in my heart.” From this day onwards saas giras naam simran began in the Fauji Singh’s heart. Guru Sahib opened his Dasam Duar and let him rest his head at Maharaj’s charankamal forever. Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. 22. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh When you “give” any maya to the Sikh Channel don’t think that you are giving to any individual or group but to the beautiful feet of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh Word has recently reached me that our brother and favourite mod Balait_da_sher broke his ankle while attempting to play cricket - although I still can’t understand how. 24. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time an old Gursikh and his granddaughter were travelling to Sachkhand Sri Anandpur Sahib to be blessed with the holy darshan of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. As they made their way through the jungles which surrounded Sachkhand Sri Anandpur Sahib they got lost in the darkness. They then began to look for some place to take shelter as it had also begun to rain. They walked for a while and noticed a fire burning in the distance. They decided to walk towards the fire and ask someone for directions and for shelter from the rain. As they approached the fire they saw a pathan standing there. They greeted the pathan who stared at them. He looked at the granddaughter and bad thoughts began to go through his mind. Without a second thought he took out his sword out of its scabbard and began to wave it towards the old Gursikh. The granddaughter who noticed this began to recite, “Hamri karo hath dai rachha.” As she uttered this thuk a bow was plucked and a golden tipped arrow began to cut through the jungle and the sky before piercing the neck of the pathan. A few moments later the thud of horses galloping was heard. Soon an army clad in blue robes and iron weapons began to manifest with Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj at the front. As soon as the old Gursikh and his granddaughter caught a glimpse of Guru Sahib and his ladlee fauj they fell to the floor with tears of happiness in their eyes. Maharaj smiled, dismounted from his horse and held his two beloved Sikhs as he took them back home to Sachkhand Sri Anandpur Sahib with him. 25. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In the 1960s Gursikhs from many villages had gathered at a historical Gurudwara Sahib associated with Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj to celebrate Bandi Chor Diwas. At this programme a young Gursikh and his family had also arrived there. After being blessed with Guru Sahib’s darshan the young Gursikh went into the open air langar and began to do the seva of serving Guruji’s beloved Sikhs. After doing this for an hour the young Gursikh noticed a solitary figure in the distance. As the young Gursikh walked towards the figure he soon noticed that it was an elderly Nihang Singh who was dressed in blue and bejewelled with weapons. The Gursikh tentatively approached the Nihang Singh and said, “Babaji why are you sat all alone out here in the darkness? Do you not want to see the lights that the sangat have lit?” The Nihang Singh opened his eyes and looked at the young Gursikh and said, “Why haven’t you greeted me with Guruji’s Fateh? Don’t you know anytime you see a Khalsa that’s how you should greet them?” The Gursikh quickly apologised and exchanged Guru Sahib’s Fateh with the Nihang Singh. He then repeated his questions. The Nihang Singh started laughing and told the Gursikh that, “This is the path of Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and is the only thing that shines brightly in this dark world! Why do you want to see simple candles when you can see Guruji who can light the candle of love in your heart?” The Gursikh smiled and then asked the Nihang Singh what he was doing? To which the Nihang Singh replied, “I’m trying to make each one of my breaths worthwhile in the remembrance of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj’s charan kamal. It is my ardas that my beloved Guru will break the shackles of maya which keep me prisoner and apart from him.” May Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj also break the shackles of maya which keep us prisoner and apart from him Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
