VJKK VJKF, I was wondering if someone would give me some advice on what to do. I can't go in to much detail but we are having some problems with muslims. I know what people will say, go to the police, but they do not do anything at all, we have spoken to them. I can't say anything else on the matter, but would need some help. VJKK VJKF

VJKK VJKF Dear all, the only way we can bring the sikh community together is to eliminagte the caste prejudice that is still prevalent within our community. We were given the name 'singh' and 'kaur' to abolish caste, but how many times have you heard 'that girl is a tharkan, she is marrying a jat', 'he's marrying a .......... etc etc etc' We still have the caste system engrained into our beliefs by our elders. The younger generation don't care they marry who they want. Only by eliminating this evil can we start to come together. The second thing is, we must have undying faith in Sri Guru Granth sahib Ji - all of us. Forget rituals and beliefs, Help each other out in times of need. VJKK VJKF

VJKK VJKF Dear all, We need to stand tall and united. Muslims will only prey on the weak, they only act hard when they outnumber you. I remember that there was a sikh group in Birmingham - blood and honour, who had run ins with muslims last year. They stuck together ans muslims backed down. VJKK VJKF Dear all, It is a very sad situation that people can't even go to cricket matches for fear of a few thugs. The trouble that we as Sikhs are havingcan easily be solved by 2 things:- 1. Unity 2. Aggressive tactics towards extremists Simple. But we will never have this, the only sikh people who stood up to extremists were the Shere Punjab. We have nothing to replace them. Hence we will continue to get beatings. Its a sad state that in the UK there are 750,000+ Sikhs, yet we can't get a few to stick together! VJKK VJKF

VJKK VJKF Dear all, the problem has been highlighted already - Muslim Unity/extremism/violence/hatred/large numbers. These muslims are getting out of order in every part of our lives, be it at schools, colleges, universities, our homes, our nagar kirtans and now cricket matches. Its the hatred thatthey have for other communities especially sikhs. There are no sikh forces in the Uk who can deal with this problem, sadly. sikhs will always get beatings, face it, we are being brought up as softies. Forget about sikh unit, its not going to happen - especially in the UK..... VJKK VJKF

VJKK VJKF Is that true, that there is proper shastar vidiya classes i.e. unarmed, armed fighting in Smethwick? It would be easier for me to get to Smethwick Gurdwara and Friday is also better for me. Is there anyone on the forum who does learn at this akhara? If so I would appreciate some feedback, does the ustad teach unarmed combat, grappling, ,wrestling , striking as well as weapons? VJKK VJKF Dear all, Thanks for your feedback. I have done a bit of Gatka (my friend used to learn and taught me a few techniques). He was unable to teach me any unarmed stuff - because he hadn't ben taught it. I didi then start gatka myself, for about 6 months, but in that time was never taught any empty hands stuff. We did alot of stick techniques and basic sparring. I think its ok, but there was no real depth to what was being taught. Sorry, but that is my honest opinion. That is why I want to try Shastar Vidiya, I have been on the website and looked at the range of techniques, it does look very good. I have heard that ustad who teaches is very very good with weapons. Sorry if I have offended anyone. Are there any people who go to the Birmingham akhara who could desribe a typical lesson for me i.e. what is taught etc VJKK VJKF
