  1. Vaaheguroo jee kaa Khaalsaa Vaaheguroo jee kee Fatheh! Sangat from far and wide are invited to attend the first ever Khalsa Camp in British Columbia this Summer from August 15-20! There will be amazing speakers, amazing keertan, amazing Gursikhs, fun activities and lots more. Please register today at www.khalsacamp.ca Thank you!
  2. Vaaheguroo jee kaa Khaalsaa Vaaheguroo jee kee Fatheh! Everyone knows about Kaurs United - a gurmat focused organization that organizes a major camp every summer for Kaurs across North America and beyond (this year it's in California) This year, there's also a gurmat oriented camp for Singhs as well, of all ages (13 and up). It's taking place in Hope, BC, 2 hours outside of Vancouver. The dates of the camp are from August 16th to August 21st (Sunday to Friday). The organizers of the camp are requesting that Singhs from all over come to BC this August. The camp this summer is going to be something special. The day will begin at Amrit Vela and will include a strong focus on Naam Simran, Gurbani and Keertan. The camp will also be an amazing opportunity to make life long friends with Singhs from around the world. There will be lots of exciting recreational activities planned, including canoeing, water tubing, archery and more. To register for the camp, go to http://www.singhscamp.com For any questions relating to camp, please e-mail singhsgurmatcamp@gmail.com. For those Singhs coming from the United States, you may find it more economical to fly into Seattle or Bellingham (in Washington State). If you choose to do this, please e-mail beforehand so we can arrange for someone to pick you up from the Airport. Camp this year promises to be a memorable experience and anyone attending will not regret it. Vaaheguroo jee kaa Khaalsaa Vaaheguroo jee kee Fatheh!
  3. Vicky Singh, What's so bad about Waheguroo! developing a new Saintsoldiers website? Aren't 2 better than 1? Stop trying to always turn things into an attack on Waheguroo! Network. You should know that SaintSoldiers.net left Waheguroo! and not the other way around. You should know that it's not an ego issue. You don't need to go around implying personal attacks.
  4. Khalsa Jee, Waheguroo Network will be back up by tommorow - after the technical issues get worked out. Your post still goes nowhere to explain why Sikhsangat.com removed themselves from Waheguroo! Network servers without giving any notice or warning or explanation whatsoever.
  5. I think SaadhRayn Kaur was trying to say that there was no politics in Waheguroo! Network's decision to take itself down for the next day or two. That had mostly to do with technical issues. But... yes - there could have very possibly been politics in play with some sevadar's intentions of removing Sikhsangat.com from Waheguroo! Network without giving notice or warning.
  6. Yes. All the posts were removed from the server. They're looking to see if they have any backups of the forum. I know what you mean Akal Purakh Di Fauj - 2 forums would be totally unnecessary and counterproductive.
  7. He also said that he's still shocked and confused as to why a certain Sevadar picked up and left the network without giving any notice or warning. I guess we're all still shocked. This totally sucks. He said that they might not have any choice except to set up a new forum if there's no chance for reconsiliation. That is so retarded people. We'll have 2 forums instead of 1. And for what? Why did this have to happen? I'm talking to some other Waheguroo! Network sevadars as well, and they're all shocked. They have no idea what's going on. This has all taken them by surprise.
  8. The user system that stretched through photos, news, keertan, etc. was crippled and altered because of Sikhsangat's departure. That itself will take a few hours to fix. Anyways, that's what I've been told. I got off the phone again with the same Sevadar, he says Waheguroo! Network will be back sometime tommorow with the member database fixed.
  9. I just got off the phone with a Waheguroo! Network Sevadar that I know... And he was shocked and heartbroken. They don't know what to do. He said that one of the Admins from SikhSangat.com removed the forum from Waheguroo! Network without any consultation or notice whatsoever. In his heartache, he took down the entire Waheguroo! Network, because he didn't know what to do. Many of you know who I'm referring too... Anyways, he also said that Waheguroo! Network will try to reconcile if it's possible, but if it's not they'll have to come up with other plans.
  10. And then.. Japmans was rescued by none other than...
  11. Toronto is soooooooooooooooo ugly. Eww. Everyone knows that Vancouver is the most beautiful city in the world. (Or really close to being the most beautiful...)
  12. Did I just hear someone compare the Muslim fighters in Iraq to the Sikhs during the era of the Mughals? Getae, do you have any knowledge or shame whatsoever? The fighters in Iraq are Sunni Muslims who want to perpetuate their group's dominance over the Shiite Iraqi Majority. Those fighters, wait--those TERRORIST KILLERS are killing Iraqis and innocent civilians at a hundred times greater rate than they're killing Americans. Their sole purpose is to prevent an election in order to create a civil war and to establish a theocratic state. They behead innocent aid workers, they blow up innocent Iraqi cops and election workers, and you compare them to the Sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh? What's wrong with you?
  13. Happy Birthday Prabhdev Singh, even though you probably don't celebrate them. We expect you back here (i.e. Vancouver) by May, at the latest.
  14. If people have the time, Listen to Bhai Parminder Singh Jee's Katha... From just around a year ago.... its tough to listen too.... because it makes everyone remember how much they miss his Kathaa and his Sevaa... but its a very good kathaa.
  15. He wakes up and realizes that the height of his dumala isn't going to get him to sach khand... so he goes back to thinking of the movie, which for him is an effort at parchaar.... He negotiates a cheaper price with Hadd-Torr Singh... bringing her asking price down to the standard $100M, leaving him with enough money to shoot his movie as he liked.
  16. At which point... Mehtab Singh and the others are instantly fired and mainstream hollywood actors are splashed with tonnes of makeup in order to look like 18th century Sikhs... Manjot Singh goes mad with power because of his newly found budget and sells out to his actually-Sikh actors... Mehtab Singh is replaced by....
  17. Shakes his head and whispers to his assistant that this project is never going to get done on time... Manjot Singh thinks to himself, "but we only wanted to do this project for the Panthic good anyway, Guru Sahib will find a way to get it done, even if that evil Japnaam Singh cancels it..." At which point, Japnaam Singh realizes the error of his ways and promises to lobby the studio for more funds in order to fulfill Manjot Singh's lofty special effects budget... and also in order to FIND BETTER ACTORS. <_<
  18. The hot shot studio executive Japnaam Singh arrives and scolds Manjot Singh for not being on schedule with the project. Japnaam Singh yells "You get this project done within the next week or you're FIRED!" @ Japnaam Singh walks off egotistically, randomly firing lowly studio employees because he thinks they're "looking at him weird", And then out of nowhere....
  19. It was amazing. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. And I wasn't even there for the entire ransbaee. I left at 2am, because I had to go to school today, but even when I left, the parking lot was still pretty full... I'm assuming that it was filled with people who were planning to leave earlier, but couldn't pull themselves away. Bhai Manmohan Singh did keertan for THREE full hours. His voice was so loud and intense during all three hours, that I assume he could've gone on for the entire ransbaee. He started at 11pm and ended at 2am. (I was planning to leave at around 12:30 myself, because I made a decision to stay until Bhai Manmohan Singh finished... little did I know that he was going to go gone on for 3 hours, instead of the 1 and a half hours that I had expected). Even when someone talked to him after he finished about how long he did keertan, he didn't realize that he had gone on for that long. He only planned to do keertan for 2 hours I think... but just kept going and going... Master Niranjan Singh Jee did really awesome keertan as well. (Right before Bhai Manmohan Singh) His voice is so mellow and soothing.... So overall the ransbaee was really good! I hope that they organize more midweek ransbaees in the future.
  20. Yes, it really was. Congratulations.
  21. Oh and the Vancouver Samagam is also being broadcast at www.keertan.net/live 2 broadcasts at the same time! Who woulda thunk it? Before May of 2003, there wasn't a single broadcast, and now there's at least once a month. That's pretty impressive.
  22. I Kaur... Older Sahibzaday Younger Sahibzaday AllAboutSikhs.com is usually a pretty good resource site.
  23. One of our favourite members..... "Surrey Singh" - Bhupinder Singh is getting married this upcoming Saturday, in SURREY, BC. And on his behalf, (and sort of with his permission) this is an invitation to anybody and everybody to show up. There's 2 events that everyone is invited too. First, a keertan this upcoming Thursday evening at Gurdvara Amrit Parkash at 123A St. and 80th Ave. And then, the actual wedding itself of course. Which is at Gurdvara Singh Sabha on 132nd St. Besides these 2 events, the other major event going on this coming week is the annual December Akhand Keertan Samagam at Khalsa School, which runs all weekly long from TONIGHT to the rainsbhaee this coming weekend. Hopefully everyone can attend as much of the samagam as possible, and both of the wedding events.
  24. Again, that doesn't make them "anti-love". I get your point though. Replies should be constructive in situations like these.
  25. Giving advice in these situations is always tricky. Basically, I guess they need to continue persisting, respectfully. They need to frame the issue to their parents as if they'd have trouble finding another similar Amrit Dharee to marry. They need to make it seem as if finding other Amrit Dharees is sometimes hard to do for youth intending to get married, so passing up an opportunity now might be hurtful in the future. Parents *generally* want whats in the best interests of their children. They're just often misguided on what those best interests truly are. If they're made to recognize that passing up this opportunity might result in a "poorer" match, regardless of caste, they might come around. Eventually. And Daasn Daas, no one is 'anti-love'. That's ridiculous Veerjee. They're anti attachment, lust, ego, etc. Everyone loves love.
