  1. What i have presumed is that Guru Sahib ji Showed to the Aurangzeb the hypocricy

of the ruling class. He wrote in zafarnama that Though Aurangzeb describes himself

as the person against idol wrship (but shikan) , still he is taking help of and helping

the idol worshippers ( the pahadi Rajey ) against Guru Sahib ( who himself is against

    the idol worship)

Hence all the talk of the ruling class is always double talk , they say something and

in practice do something entirely opposite . Which is even today true and relevent ,

Do I need to elaborate? the baani of the guru is relevent always

I think we should know the difference between BUTSHIKAST AND BUT SHIKAN

    WJKK WJKF

  2. we can read baani any time , but nitnem are prescribed for morning and evening

evening baani is rehraas & night it is sohila , its better if we stick to evening

time for rehraas , but for practical difficulties , there is no bar, we can do the paath

anytime before going to bed , when we are supposed to recite Sohila .

Further it is only matter of making it a habit, if we want to stick to the right time

reciting rehraas only takes 15- 20 minutes. I remember my childhood days

when we all brothers after the playtime would perform panj ishnana and

one of us (there were turns datwise) would recite rehraas and all would listen

including our mother who used to prepare food alongside after the ardaas

our fathe would return back home from work( he used to recite on his way back)

then all would eat togather . thus the food prepared while reciting bani has made

unique effect on the family ( the rest is left to the readers imagination)

It is only a matter of habits and the upbringing we get from the parents

I see in the 1469 the same spirit of gursikhi and salute his PARENTS for

the sikhi spirit in them and their child

I ALWAYS THANK GOD WE GOT SUCH FABULOUS PARENTS , THEY BOTH IMBIBED

IN THEIR KIDS THE SIKHS VALUES SO STRONG THAT EVEN FOREIGN LAND COULD

    NOT POLLUTE OUR IDEOLOGY

  3. My son - it does not take more than 30 minutes FOR ALL THE PANJ BANIS

once you remember by hearteven reciting from gutka takes nor more than

    40min , its just a matter of making a habit .

When we were school going, our mother didnot give us

breakfast till we completed our nit nem , so by the time we were in our

teens we could recite by heart, After bath we would start and by the time

we were all ready with dastara and the uniform the nitnem was over.

It is not difficult , it's just a matter of making it habit

Plz give it a TRY tHE gURU WILL SHOWER HIS BLESSINGS AND YOU WILL

    FIND ITS VERY EASY

  4. can we do something right at the forum and otherwise to encourage participant

gurslkhs and the sangat? I suggest publishing names of top 10contributors along with the

daily count(plz exclude me & bkb23) further we may deliver some gursikhi gifts to

the top contributors , our family would be pleased to perform the sewa to despatch the same

    from here India

  5. Well i do not think one can make patase at home, The patasa makers in market (who also make revdis & gachaks ) make thick chashni with little of mitha soda(bicarb) which cleans sugar of impurities and gives fluffy looks too ; and then make small droplets of chasni on white muslin cloth spread on floorthe soda in the chashni makes it fluffy during the cooling & drying , it is an expert's job not even a chef would be able to accomplish .

    better buy from market .

  6. handplcked jathedaars and pradhans will never be able to do the needful . only

commoners with convition have done so in the past and so it will happen in

future too . Gurdwara sudhar movement was started and run by the commoners .

Guru Gobind Singh ji very well had the clear picture about this , and so he never

put faith in aristocracy (hindu rulers) and the intelligentia( the priest class ) of

his time . We should take cue from guru ji's life and do something like wise

  7. this is not a general note , it has appeared in the paper Dt 7 may , with the heading:-

SHRIMANI CMITTEE WALLON CHAPE "PANTH PRAKASH " WICH KUFAR DA SIKHAR

APPEARED ON PAGE 7 , can be seen on website of the paper ,rozana spokesman.com

the news is attributed to charanjit singh of Amritsar

    r

further , what i mean is , while enjoying our own freedom of expression , why someone

should try to gag others, instead of starting healthy debate .

Does freedom of expression means my freedom only? Does every body has to agree with me

on all points? othewise it blasphemy , is this kind of thinking not talibanisation ?

any society masches forward by dropping the outdated and accepting new ideas,

(not dropping the eternally true values) through discussions, but criticising others in such

foul language is real ly disgusting

  8. the real question is why sikh youth has been going away from heritage?

    answer :-

the parents have no time to spend with them, just forget the quality time

the parents have themselves little or no knowledge (barring a few)

    of the rich heritage

The elders do not know how to give covincing logical answers to the queries

and questions of the youth & teenagers regarding religion and spirituality.

The study of religion , spirituality (and philosophy ) is not encouraged (

Actually discouraged) by the parents , thinking that it is intrusion in regular school

    curricula.

  9. We have a news in Punjabi Spokesman criticizing publication of "Prachin Panth prakash"

written by Ratan singh bhangu(sometimes aroung 1860-1870) .The contention of the writer

of the news article is that it contains derogatory and anti Gurmat ideas attributed to Baba

Banda Singh ji . Ihave read the book from 1st to last page , the comments ascribed are to

an extent true, but (I) the SGPC has been publishing the book since long the preface clearly

describing that the book is completely unabridged ie no part has been deleted , the editing

of only matras and missing letters in mss have been undertaken which means that the editors

and the publishers have tried to put the book before public as it was written by the author.

the author hailing from the family of Bhai Mehtab Singh (who was part of the duo who killed

Massa Ranghar in Darbar Sahib ) was a good source of sikh history during his lifetime,

agreeing some of the incidents described by him may not be true, he may have personal bias

against some sects (as the Spokesman team too has), but we cannot dismiss every word

    written by the author.

most of all , like Joginder Singh , Kala Afgana and likes , Ratan Singh bhangu too had the right

to speak, write and express what he thought correct. Is not it the double standard being shown

by the people named above ? they dismiss all the historic works of sikh history , be it Suraj

Prakash , Guru Mahima , Mahima Prakash, Guru Bilas , Panth Prakash . Even I myself do consider

some of the incidents described in these books incorrect, but cannot deny the importance of these

books as valuable source of sikh history.

Does these guys at work in The Spokesman think that they are the only learned people (past

present and Future ) born in Sikh Families?Do any work to be published about sikhism needs

only their prior approval and we do not have right to read what this gang does not like?

Sorry if some one finds my views offeding

  13. Che was not a weakling, he was a determined person committed fully to the ideology of his choice,

did not like to immerse himself into comforts of life, even when he got them, till the end of his life,

struggled for the spread of the communism . such committed persons are very rare , are real heroes

and we can learn from him what the commitment means (ON establishment of communist rule in Cuba

under the leadership of Castro, he was offered the rank of Minister in the Govt, but he chose to

venture into south american land and work for spread of communism there, he was caught by the CIA

    and tortured to death .
