This is a great opportunity for Sikhs to embarrass the barbaric actions of the Indian Government. We will be getting a platform to address Sikh Human Rights Issues in one of the most well known capital in the world. The greatest sadness post 1984 is the lack of awareness within our community and therefore the wider. Although Kamal Nath tried to shrug off the protests in North America as insignificant it was undoubtedly a big upset and embarrassment as it would be for any country such as India which is trying to assert its dominance as a world player. However, along with my enthusiasm, I am some what apprehensive. This is as I hope the minority of ”grimy" or thuggish Sikhs will not see this as an opportunity for five minutes of YouTube fame. If there was ever a moment in history when we did not need bad publicity it is NOW! Therefore please note although many of us may have anger towards Kamal Nath and the other butchers of Delhi, we must maintain composure as realistically any violent action will not bear any fruit and only lend support to the justification given by the Indian Government that it had to deal with extra ordinary measures against fundamentalists.
