  1. No way to "vote for Lib Dems"- The Lib Dems are a pathetic excuse for a party with absolutely fluid commitments taht shift wherever neccesarry in a despertae attempt to gather votes. They have no policies, and yet have all policies if neccesarry- and IO thought Wahegurui was the ultimate paradox ( ie formless, yet resides in all, and is thus present in every form). The only thing I know about the LIB DEMS is that you can trust them EVEN less than the other parties. They are a joke- at the moment they are really trying hard to get the ethinic vote ( I.e. the Iraq stance to pick up Muslim votes), I say it would be absolutely foolish to fall for such nonsense.
  2. About the meat at langar fallacy. Is it not true that Sata & Balvanda in their Vaars talk about langar, and mentioning the foods present in langar? I'm not sure about this, but I believe it is the casethey talk about what was present in Guru-ka-langar at the time- definately no meat there!
  3. " .. it's MTV guys, come on...nobody looks to MTV for their cues on Sikhism. I haven't tuned into MTV for ages. What is this show "Fab 40"? " In refrence to the above quote, we should remember tah a certain demographic ion society watch nearly nothing but MTV, and thus would base a substantial part of their opinions in all spheres of life from the content of what is said on that channel ! ( maybe i'm being a little sarcastic here, but not too much!) I was watching with a friend of mine, one who is born into a Sikh family, and he asked me whether this was true (just imagine the look on my face as I put him straight)- so BELIEVE ME it does have an effect on people. If it can confuse Sikhs, what do you think it will do the general populus?
  4. The word removed by the profanity filter begins with V and ends with N. and has IIGR in the middle ( not in that order!) It is the same name Richard Brandsons company uses ( ie the megastores, airlines, trains ). Why has that been removed?
  5. I couldn't see anything on the website www.mtv.co.uk - does anyone else have any ideas where else to look?
  6. I was just watching " The Fab 40 " on MTV today (Saturday 15, 13:00, MTV) Its a show that Explores the lives of well-known celebrities. There was an item on the show reagrding celebrity harir styles, and how celebrities buy the hair of <admin-profanity filter activated> brides shorn off before marriage ceremonies in India. They then went on to say such hair is purchased by stylists from sacred temples, a6t which point they put up a picture oif Harmindar Sahib on the screen- now thats misrepresentation for you! Maybe they should do a little research before they run off making TV programmes!
  7. Also, I have heard that the "aagiya bai Akaal ki" line is from Sarbloh granth- is this accurate?
  8. Is it true the Dohra is no longer read at Harmandar Sahib?
  9. An excellent post, and excellently timed- the Sikhi Saroop is under threat from our own brothers and sisters who, in falling for the ideals of the west, disregard a gift bestowed upon us by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  10. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE EXACTLY THE DOHRA IS FROM, AND WHO COMPOSED THE LAST LINES? - SORRY ABOUT THE CAPITALS, MY KEYBOARD IS PLAYING UP
  11. What a great comment- thanks for sharing. So long as the Khalsa remains the army of Waheguru, and continues to work for Waheguru ( which undoubtedly will be for all eternity- as surely Guru Gobind Singh Ji shall ensure this is the case), they shall reap the benefits of doing so.
  12. Why is dohra not raed in all Gurdwaras? and can someone tell me where exactly it is from. Also, am I correct in assuming it is not (at least not fully) compiled by Guru Gobind Singh Ji- It's just that the last line taht is soetimes read confuses me- the "khanda ja ke haath meh kalgi soi hai sis, so hamro rachiya kari guru Kalgidhar Jagdees" Soiort- that is a very poor attempt at putting it in English- where was this line added?
