Baba Trilok Singh Nihang said in katha that Guru Nanak was the 1st Nihang Singh. As veer ji has said above Guru Sahib wore Blue bana on his travels to mecca/medina, this is also stated in Bhai Gurdas ji Vaaran. As for Guru Sahib having a kirpan, according to Baba Trilok Singh Nihang, Guru Ji did have a small kirpan when on his travels. Guru Nanak in his 10th form gave us a command to keep shaster so anything that went before becomes kind of academic. Akaaaaal

I dont care who this ragi is or what jatha's hes from, i'd slap him and the giani for allowing this. Untill we start demanding respect for guru sahib from giani's and ragi's and sikhs in general how can we expect outsiders to show respect?!! I know some on here are going to say "why slap" blah blah blaaaaaah, but ask yourself this, if they did this during Guru Gobind Singh's time do you think a slap is all they would have got?

Its nothing to do with Kapoors being hindu etc, Guru Sahib is universal! The 'GRANTH-i' is responsible for making sure no beadi of Guru Sahib is done and that all show respect to Guru Sahib. Any place that does not show Guru Sahib respect should not be allowed to have darshan of Guru Ji. Most the guests there may not be aware of the protocols to be adhered to in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib but the Granthi and that ragi have no excuse!!!!

ofcourse it aint right! this is more like a hindu wedding where they all sit around the fire. I am not angry with the guests or have anything against hindus but am angry with the sikhs, mainly the giani who allowed this. As for bhai Harbans Singh next time he talks about respect for Guru Sahib at one of his programmes I hope someone slaps him in the face and shows him this video!

Vaheguru Ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh At my local Gurdwara today I got some funny looks from the giani serving prashad. I walked into Darbar Sahib did my matha tehk infront of Guru Sahib followed by my ardas, I then walked behind Guru Sahib where there is a large display of shaaster (weapons) on the wall and did matha tehk infront of the shaaster. I have been keshadhari for the last 5 months but am not shaaterdhari yet, did I do something wrong and is what I did against gurmat?

Jatha Nihang Singha I am in the uk and attended the barsi programme for Baba Lehna ji, I didnt get to talk to Baba Joginder Singh but just getting his darshan felt amazing. I did manage to talk to 1 nihang singh and he was quite helpful and gave us a number of a nihang singh that lives local to me and knows my best mate well so with Guru Sahibs kirpa all seems to be well, thanks for the replies everyone. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh. I have recently come into sikhi, i started keeping my kesh about 5 months ago. I am currently learning gurmukhi and have completely stopped drinking and eating meat. my rehat at the moment consists of waking at amritvela, reading 5 bania from english pronounced gutka sahib or listening to them. During the day i listen to sukhmani sahib and chandi di // or chandi charitar 2. evening i listen to sampooran rehras sahib ji follwed by ardas and then kirtan sohila before bed. I have read extensively into sikhi over the last 5 months and aslo have pothi of Sri dasam granth sahib at home which i was fortunate enough to come across at my local gurdwara earlier this year on the birthday of dhan dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. I am very drawn towards the lifestyl of nihangs, their knowledge of Guru Granth Sahib/dasam granth and sarbloh granth, their understanding of bhakti and shakti, and their respect for dharam and especially dharam yudh intrigues me sooooo much, what i want to know is how do I become a nihang singh? i want to serve in Guru Sahib's ladlee fauj. (positive/helpfull replies only please, no bhang/jhatka influenced negtive replies, thanks) Akaaaaaaaaaaaaaal
