  1. Veerji think of it like - Gurbani states time and time again the Wahegurus Will is the sweetest. If Waheguru did not want us to have long it would not keep growing back. A Gurmukh once said if you cut your hair, you are actually challenging Wahegurus creation. Guru Gobind Singh Ji said to Bhai Nand Lal Ji - Being a Sikh, if one goes around without a sword, his soul faces the transmigration - now let me clarify on this one line - Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself was so great, that even He Himself too Amrit. Taking Amrit is key to being a Sikh of the Guru. Wearing a Kirpan is mandatory for Gursikh. The first of the panj pyaare was Daya, which means compassion, only when you have compassion will you respect the Wahegurus Hukham. When we go to the Gurudwara and we do Matha Tek, what your actually doing is giving your head to the Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Ji says over and over again, give your head, your body and mind to the Guru and in return, the Guru will become yours. Dhan Man Dhan. Its the exact same when Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked for 5 heads to initiate the Amrit ceremony. People used to take Amrit before Guru Gobind Singh Jis time by drinking the water of the Gurus washed feet. Guru Gobind Singh Ji created this Amrit ceremony for all people who wanted to be Sikh to take this Amrit and he sealed the very essence on how to take Amrit. Sorry if I went off the topic a bit but keeping your hair is a requirement and yes it is one aspect only but a Gurmukh pyaara once said - if you cant even look after the external part as per Gurus wishes, how will you clean your inner self? Sincere apologies if I have offended anyone. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ranjeet Singh
  2. Bhenji, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The one thing you can do is never give, no matter how many times you fall, always try your very best to pick yourself back up. Losing is not falling, the ultimate loss is when you give up. I am 30 years old, I am a supervisor for a social housing repairs comany and I manage about 30 contractors on a daily basis of about 70 jobs at different properties. Up until I was 27 years old, I was a mona, ate maas, drank heavily and did drugs. I had nothing going for my life. Please see my 'about me' page on my profile to know the full works. I have to get up early as 5am and it helps that I have an mp3 player, I downloaded my nitnem and I ensure I listen to it everyday. I miss out some days which is just not good enough but I never give up. I do long hours, anything from 9 - 12 hours a day, 5/6 days a week and I am married with 2 beautiful daughters. If an ex druggie like me can do it, so can you, never give up bhenji. I have listed my youtube page on my profile with some videos I downloaded which all help in my love of Waheguru, please do watch them when you have a moment. Keep begging Waheguru for the strength, the compassion and everything will fall into place bit by bit. I took Amrit last year and I have never looked back and I always say thank you to Waheguru for everything I have been blessed with. Drink plenty of water, I do about 3-4 ltrs a day. I hope it helps somewhat. Take care Ranjeet Singh
  3. Waheguru Waheguru. I think the youngsters such as ourselves should start becoming part of our locals Gurudwaras committees and in the end they will leave at one point as they are OAP's and its up to us youngsters to keep Sikhi true to its basics. I am going tomorrow to Barking Gurudwara to sign up to be a member. One thing that hurt me the most was this - I went to get a Sukhmani Sahib paath booked for my daughters 5th Birthday and this is what they quoted 1- Ragis - £40 2- Langar and electric - £475 3 - Sukhmani Sahib Paath - £16 !!!! I mean they should not break it down like this is it seems that there is a very low price on the Gurbani itself ! I know we are in recession etc but this is wrong on so many levels. They should call it a Sukhmani Sahib Seva - total price included etc etc. We need to step as most of the elders in the committees are ruining the very essence of Naam and Gurbani without even knowing it. We are becoming engrossed in maya and this is being fed subconsciously to the Saadh Sangat so they dont care. There are not enough English Gurbani talks and Kathas on Sikh history in local Gurudwaras. We should, using this website as you are all doing, keep advertising events and organising young prominent Gursikhs like Bhai Nirvair Singh Khalsa Jatha and Bhai Sukha SIngh UK wale etc, we need to get together as a force and organise more and more monthly events around locals Gurudwaras, not just stop at the big ones like Singh Sabha Southall, Gravesend, Wolverhampton etc. We need to do these more and more at the more local Gurudwaras like Barking, Leyton, Rosebery etc. I am sorry to rant but I am genuinely hurt at the breakdown done by the elders without them even realising it. Sincere apologies if I have offended anyone with my comments.

    Help Needed

Veerji don't worry. It was an accident. Waheguru will understand I am sure as you did not do it purposely. I am glad you took Amrit to become a Guru da Sikh. I took Amrit last year. Before that I drank heavily, ate maas and did drugs. I thank Waheguru everyday for the Darshan he bestowed upon me to take Amrit. I begged and begged and finally I can now call myself a Sikh. What I am trying to say is that if Waheguru can forgive me and let me take Amrit after all my dirty mistakes, I am sure Waheguru will forgive for a mistake that was unintentional.
