  1. So you are saying Maya is a completely different entity to God?

Just say If God is the creator of all and maya is bad, why did God create maya in the first place?

God seems to be on an ego trip, God wants us to praise him and if don't you will be punished (re-carnation, going to hell and other beliefs regarding punishment).

    Everything is a huge contradiction.

i am not saying all this read gurbani you will find the same in gurbani... when we start putting points together we lost because gurbani says we could never understand gods game we can only love god why love god? because he is our resting place he is the ONLY ONE.. the is where we came from thats where we belong... its not contradiction!! its gods game that you and i cant understand!! our job is to read bani and love bani so we find peace

    this explains it better
  2. i really wish we had something like this in usa/ canada

people that live in the UK should make an effort and try to participate in the event because they dont know how lucky they are to have that oppertunity.. where i live they dont even acknowledge ghallughara because they think somehow it will offend the hindus that give donation.....they talked about this girl who got the best grades in her class for 15 minutes but didnt bother mentioning so many that took shaheedi

last time we told them to atleast do ardaas they didnt.. so instead of being disappionted+upset we decided to drive for 2 hours to a gurudwara where people respect shaheeds...

  3. veerji ignore comments you dont like. you dont have to pick a fight on every discussion. we dont know who has enough kirpa to fight for panth.. do you? do i? we dont know...!! there is nothing wrong with conversing in english and there is nothing wrong with being pendhu..

people that think they are too good for "fobs" are wrong and people that think they are better than those conversing in english are wrong as well!!

we need to be open mided and bring out issues that affect our panth and collectively DO something about those issues!! in order to collectively do something about those issues we need to stand together and i am sure thats not going to happen by fighting over small things..!! :)

  4. one doesnt have to be born in uk or abroad to be a sikh/ khalistani... but its true that people abroad care and know the truth compare to india.. more parchaar is needed there.. but again one cant generalize...

i was born and bred in india knew nothing about ghallughara and sikh genocide.. i came to america lived in a town with very less desis learned about it from jaikara movement pamphlets.

  5. we all have different issues...we do paath everyday to fight them life is soo hard!! could always be worse.... heaven and hell are here in this world when we get something we love we get attatchement with w/e that is.. when its gone we get depressed and sad. its not one person who has attatchment, kam krodh lobh hankaar we all have it unless we have guru jis kirpa ... we wake up everyday to fight.. life is a fight..

Sexual desire and anger are very powerful in the body-village; I rise up to fight the battle against them.

  6. If evolution is true then where does soul, cycle of birth and death fit in it? Where does By Guru's grace fall into it? What about Satguru giving mukhti to animals? How does one become a monkey to move up to the next stages of becoming a human? We move up the ladder of the cycle of reincarnation by our deeds then monkeys must have the highest chance of becoming a human next because evolution says we came from monkeys. Christians, scientist, among others are trying to explain how Akal Purakh created the creation. All of them fail because only Akal Purakh knows what took place. Evolution does have good points, but is it a complete theory to accept as the truth? Hell no it has many holes in it.

it doesnt matter if its true or not we can never know guru jis limits.. there are many planets with life? we cant know all the secrets vaheguroo jees beyond our understanding we will never know everything and wondering could lead to doubts.. best thing would be to do naam jaap i believe in evolution.. :) but that doesnt matter..

  7. i really hope bhai saab along with other innocent singhs that are in jails are released. its good to see the panth is united on saving bhai bhullar. like i said in another post bhai saab, like so many other singhs, has been in jail for so long we all need to unite and speak up now....not just save bhai sahib from death sentence but get bhai sahib released........help singhs by donating to SOPW

Intensifying its drive to help death row convict Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today said the Sikh community across the globe wanted that Bhullar's death sentence be converted into life imprisonment.

It said that it would augment the efforts of the Amritsar-based SGPC to help Bhullar. DSGMC chief Paramjit Singh Sarna said a delegation of Sikhs would meet President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, urging that Bhullar's death sentence be commuted.

"Sikhs across the globe have sent us requests that the gurdwara committee must make an appeal to the government to forgive Bhullar."

Sarna said any comparison with Bhullar and Afzal Guru, the convict in Parliament attack case, was odious. Bhullar, he said, was an educated man who belonged to an educated family.

He said there was no evidence and no witnesses against Bhullar and had been convicted purely on the basis on confession made in police custody.

Sarna said Bhullar had been in jail for the past 17 years, which meant he had been behind bars for more time than a man sentenced to life imprisonment.

Also, the judges hearing the Bhullar case were not unanimous in their verdict. One of the three judges had ruled against the death sentence. "In the history of independent India, death sentence has never been given on a split judgment. Also, Bhullar is mentally unfit and is in a mental hospital at Shahdra."

He said would again submit a mercy petition through the proper channels.

General Secretary of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi), Harvinder Singh Sarna, echoed similar sentiments.

Bhullar has been convicted by the Supreme Court for the attempt on the life of Maninderjit Singh Bitta, the then president of the All-India Youth Congress Committee, in 1993.

The DSGMC president said that Sikhs throughout the world would hold ardas

(prayer) in various gurdwaras on Sunday, praying that Bhullar's death sentence be converted into life imprisonment.

The gurdwara committee has been fighting Bhullar's case for the past nine years.

  8. You maybe right...and if you are can you please provide the section in the Akal Takat Rehat Maryada that states what she is doing is incorrect.

its common sense.. i believe.. people also say jee wooden kirpana paa lo or wear one in a necklace thats total bakwaas.. you cant change what guru ji put for us.. no one can

i dont follow marayda myself because i am weak to be honest but i wouldnt change a thing just cos i am not strong enough to follow it sorry if i was mean! :(

  9. this one time i didnt want to do rehraas sahib but my sis made me lol she told me to do ardaas n i was mad cos i didnt want to but i dnt know wt happened as soon as i said guru jis name i was in tears.... n lauging cos i couldnt stop crying... i want tht too happen again...... happen more i guess... b/c i felt connection with guruji...

  10. That makes no sense guru gav hukam some which must be for that time specifically . What purpose are these 5 shastr do they make you a better sikh ? What about the jingle bells i hav seen some whering what can the possible reason be for this ? In your sangat this might seem normal but in the 20th century you just make it harder for normal sikhs to practice . Y don't you thing? If i am so wrong and there is an very good reason then i will put all these on every sikhs head and then go to the airport and tell them i am a sikh of the guru and i have come to travell :-) . . . Travel in time maybe to a past centursy when there was a wars to fight

    ----------------------------------

5 shaster? what are you referring to? 5 kakkar? your post is utter bakwaas!!! maybe you need to learn more about sikhi before you post on here :)

by the way you are totally clueless its 21st century as far as i know

are you talking about the 21st century sangat that sits on chairs to eat langaar?

what you call 21stcentury sangat isnt really sangat.. sangat is where you learn about guru sahib where you develop spiritually.

guru gobind singh ji didnt just give hukam to the 17th century sikhs...singhs and singhnis that continue to give shaheedian prove this!! "sir jave ta jave mera sikhi sidak na jaave" dont know if you know but people actually have died to keep the rehit you are speaking against and your post isnt just against sikhi but also against those great sacrifices made by great sikhs and that rehitbaan sikh will continue to make ... hope you get better sangat.. so you learn what sikhi really is..

sikhi is mehngi and not for weaklings that cant even sit on the floor when having langar..

... its easy to call urself a sikh but if you are denying guruji.. if you think this hukam no longer applies then why bother calling yourself a sikh...

i am not amritthari i dont keep full rehit but i would never disrepect sikhi like you are... god knows what your 21st century sangat is like...because you sure need a lotta knowledge about sikhi :)

because in true sense.. only those that respect guru jis hukam are sikhs.. even 5 yr old sikhs know better than you.. sorry if my post is attacking/insulting you but you need to be told before you go on disrpecting guru ji..

this is what a true singh looks like :)

  11. Even when someone wears a distaar we nit-pick...why are apne community so b*tchy to one another?

    Where is the love?

sorry but its actually not being bitchy, its stating whats not right according to maryada. (its not them judging a person, its not them giving their opinion)

:) if they hurt your ego by stating a simple fact then.......then... you need to get over it!!

Just wanted to share and discuss something that has been really bothering myself since having come onto the path of sikhi and later on been blessed with amrith.

Why is it that when your the only 1 in your family or out of your cousins your age to have taken amrith that people who are meant to be your family (extended family/cousins) try to put you down?.

Iv seen this so much and having gone through it myself I don't see the point. If your doing something that's right why do people try so badly to put you down?

Sorry for ranting. Any opinions on this Would be nice :)

i havent taken amrit yet my closest cousins are cool.. my family is really supportive but i felt the same way after i got into sikhi..people at gurudwara and family i am close with made me feel unaccepted.. aunties at gurudwara tried to put my cousin (who doesnt look like shes into sikhi from the outside but listens to kirtan/ katha) against us..

it could get quite frustrating at times.. you get weird reactions from people you expect the least from but i am sure there are a lot of people that support you.. i got a lot of support and love from different people too after a got into sikhi...

but i know what you mean.. its hurtful to see people treat you differently after you start keeping ur kesh or get more into sikhi...!!

  14. is it normal to feel a "pulsating wave of energy/vibration" in your head when listening to kirtan/simran? For instance when focusing on shabbad it tends to occur at the end of each line of shabbad (sorry if this isnt the correct terminology) or when someone is saying vaheguroo simran, each time vaheguroo is said i can feel this wave/vibration/pulsation. its very difficult to describe. I wonder if i have a brain aneurism :s

Im trying not to focus on this feeling as im unsure if its a distraction or something which ive started imagining. im not amritdhari yet and a big sinner too but trying to walk on the path. i dont know if its the same thing the op is experiencing. any advice appreciated

omg veerji mee too.. :O i am not amrit thari yet either.. but i have been feeling that vibration a lot since i listened to khalsa camp simran... :O yh.. i got quite worried before but i think we shouldnt talk about it anymore like the veerji above said if its kirpa it might go away :\

  15. You had an out of body experience (just kidding).

It might have to do with the coffee. I remember i stayed up all night to study for a bio test and then had a bio trip the next day, i went and got coffee even though i usually don't drink it. It was a horrible mistake, i wasn't myself the whole time and i felt jittery lol .

I can drink chaa on occasion but too much coffee doesn't suit me. Other than the coffee theory, i am not sure. b3681aea8e2f82b5f62ae4fe85923c1ab81625b4.png

hehee when it first happened i was like o.... my dasam duars opening :p then it wouldnt stop and got a little annoying.

i was reading the yoga stuff it said one could go blind if that happens lol and lotta other weird stuff :\

    got me a little worried..

    no coffee today!! :(

    and lets hope it stops!

  16. i was listening to simran and was trying to fall asleep, my head started vibrating when simran (khalsa camp) was going on.. it vibrates for 2-5 secs..... then the next day it would randomly vibrate?? ermm.. is it something medical or what??

i looked it up and it says something about yoga (but i dont really practice yoga.. :\) it says something about seeing visions and color indigo i dont have any of that.. ??

it vibrates as if its getting bigger in size..? and then closes back in.. then after a while it does it continously?? it happens more when i listen to paath..???

but i dont know why because i am into sikhi but i am sucha a paapi (not saying outta humility) i really am...

does anyone ever have that head virbrating thing? :\ is it normal??

is it because i have been drinking too much coffee? :\
