LAst one i went to in cov lasted alot longer then 9.30.... ( i picked up an 8pm slot and he didnt go on till about erm.. 9.30!!) thats the way we want this one to go!! Nice long kirtan session!!! As phenji has put, please try to come, not often coventry puts on events, lets try and make the most of them!!!

i wudnt even say 10years!! more like 5!!!! I used to drink but not smoke, i drank coz it seemed the norm in the community!! i hadnt had much of a Gursikh crowd until i went to uni so as i was with goray and went to so many weding parties, all is aw was alcohol!! They are both as bad as each other, its probably got something to do with the fact drinking is more like a daily thing, you jst pour it like a normal glass of juice or something but smoking takes an effort! Smoking also makes the clothes stink!!! When people smoke they are prone to getting caught!! where as smoking means they jst gota act normal and eat loads chewing gum!! both as bad as eachother, best advice is stop before yuo really mash up your bodies! failing that! think how much money you waste on em in a year!! then look at what you have to show for it!!!!!!! - when you start workin and listen to people moan about how skint they are and how they cnt go down the pub (i work with goray...) you stop and think, if you cut out the fags and the alcohol!! you will have loads more cash! and beable to get a nice car, house etc!

Well I m going off topic but I just want to clarify something. Veer ji, isn't bhagauti means power of god when used in ardass? I know bhagauti also means sword but somebdy told me( may be katha of maskin ji) tht in ardass it represent power of God. or it may be like sword is the power of God Also, regarding the question above, I think if u have pure love then its not disrespect. I use msn alot, well i log into it alot!! but i dnt normally talk to alot of people on it, i use it for the email side of things but chat to people when they wona talk!! Yeh jst be careful on the time you spend on there, ie keep an eye on the clock so you dont like go wayyyyyy over how long you wanted to!! Its a great way to talk to people free!! Also coz you can see who your talkin to, if you got family in diff countries of different regions you can video chat too - give it your mum and she will prob take over!!!!! lol Its a great way to share kirtan too and sikhi pics as sometimes people get recordings which no1 else got!! Nothing rong in usin it, jst be careful!

Not sure if its Disrespect but its definatly not something i would do... Touch my dhumala with it at max when taking out/picking it up/ putting back.. but nothing more!!! Good question tho, but i got a feeling the answer is no? If someone more learned could make a post would be great!!

If your burning a flag what are you promoting? Nothing but showing your an <banned word filter activated> in the eyes of the public. Burning that one flag is not gona achieve ANYTHING! Also as is said, why would you need to be masked? If you are that proud of what you are doing then show the public that you dont care as the shaheeds of 84 did! You can still be arrested for burning a flag, it might not be illegal to burn the actual flag BUT it is illegal as far as i know to create fires in public places? Ie, Arson, causing grief, MOB tactics? I never went last yr as i was otherwise engaged on the day but i saw pictures and video footage. I watched numerous guys kick the hell out of a rajai! Did it make them feel really good doing that? The cops, who were also filmed for their expression, stood and laffed at the childishness of people!!!! Hence this year, i dont think i want to be associated with that publicity! and shall attend the tournament of Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi and try to correct what beadbi is being done there!!

Its one of them kabaddi tournaments not a langar where you cant have meat. According to Sikh history, the Rehat Maryada and Hukumnama issued by the Akal Takht in the early 1980s it is ok to eat jhatka meat. So logically if the hot dogs are made using jhatka meat it should be ok if not it is wrong. 100506[/snapback] Thats a poor excuse to eat meat even still. The meat wont be chatkha as the only person who will tell you it is would happen to be the butcher and to them its money so they will tell you want you want to hear!!! Even still, its counts as wrong as the person eating the meat should perform the procedure. if they dont, then how can they eat? Under all rights, its still incorrect to have meat and alcohol there as its under the name of GURU ARJAN DEV JI! 3days he stayed on that hot plate! For what? For us to say its ok to eat stupid meat on his shaheedi? To drink ourselves stupid? Disrespect the great deed he did for us and humanity? What people do in their own time is their choice, let them do it! but when Beadbi is done of my Guru! As Khalsa, we stand up to it! We can not even come close to the shaheeds sikhi has produced! There is a previous post on here already about the tournament. It comes under the name of Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi Tournament as yes there is alcohol and meat present. At present moment there are disscussions underway to prevent disrespect but if no change is made from the Gurdwara then people should turn up to protest this event. At the same time, who will turn up since on the same day, the 1984 march is taking place and majority of people will be going to Hyde Park. I myself will be going to the Tournament if a stand is to be made but i know many a people who will be going to hyde park instead.. Please if there is a protest to be made, do Ardas that the event is cancelled and Guru Ji Does Kirpa and stops prevents Further Abuse if you are not able to atten!!!!! I will look for the previous post and post a link if i can find it but if anyone else finds it 1st, please post it! WJKK WJKF

jst so people know if they dont already.. Harmonium is German origin... We use it as its much easier then traditional indian instruments.. I used to have an aritcle on it but cant seem to find it though i will try and get another copy and post up.. Tis good to read, explained which instruments were used and what for and how!!

Think about it yourself. if it feels right then go for it. if it feels wrong then dont. What person says another will give a different oppinion. From a logical perspective, why marry someone who does not follow the same belief? If a sikh marries a muslim for instance, how will they get on? When its a muslims duty to reach heaven by converting people to emrace Islam? A christian believes the wine given in communion is the blood of Jesus, we dont drink! Buddist believe in peace and non violence, yet Sikhs believe in standing up for justice and lifting the sword when all other means fail. Hindus believe in multiple gods, Sikhs Believe in One. Doesnt seem Logical to marry out of you own religion.. And from a Sikhi Perspective, im sure the rehat i was given said, Marry Amritdhari and since Bani says it, too, must be a reason for it!!! Ie.. If a girl marries away from Sikhi, and loses faith because of it, we dnt lose just one Sikh, We lose generations!! Since its the woman who carries the child..
