  1. One thing is important, no one is saying that getting gurbani tattoed on your body is good. But lets put this in to perspective we are one about the khanda. The khanda is not gurbani and never has been, It is a symbol or icon of our faith and turning this thread in to a worship the khanda thread is no different to idol worship. People need to ensure that what is inside is clean and and focussed, this is what will get your soul closer to god. The body is just the vessel that carries the soul.
  2. Sorry bro, its not being targetted at you in anyway. I just used your post to open a reply box up. Sorry. :TH:
  3. Getae, I dont see whats wrong with the tattoo i have one on each arm and yes one of them has a khanda. I dont consider my self anyless of a sikh than anyone else. The tatts mean something to me and thats important. As far as the first guys raising a sword to everyone with a tat......very mature. Do you think you can raise a sword and just cut my tatts off? or more realistically do you think I would have something to say about that.

  10. Apologies if this first ever post offends. But it seems to be an ever increasing trend to spend more and more and more money on gurdwara here in england. First there was one in my original home town of Leeds where the sevadars of the gurwara even started visiting the sangat's houses in groups of five to ask for money. Then there were the 10s of millions spent on the southall gurdwara. Gravesend or certainly surrounding areas definitely have more than one gurdwara why not fill them rather than every next man getting up and building his own. Surely spending this money on educating the world about sikhism would be a better investment. It may stop sikhs being thought of as muslims in america and only ever being thought of as partying alcoholics here in england. Flashy gurdwara only move you away from the reason you are actually there. Do you want people to admire the great expensive building or do you want them to meditate on the name of god?
