  1. Well Harmeet Singh now you can say you know one albeit online. I worked in investment banking as a trader before moving to another investment house as a sales manager and now finally as an adviser. If you want any advise let me know.
  2. I don't want to be the odd one out here but I think at some level what you are saying is wrong. You have real passion in your beliefs and that my brother is your biggest asset. However to change those around you you need one other element and that is conviction in your beliefs. All i mean by this is yu have to do yourself what you would like others to do. Sorry if this upsets you. Just remember the world is changed by people who lead not by people who follow.
  3. Thank you very much for this. I will try it out straight away
  4. I have recently set up a wirless connection and would like to be able to access the hard drive on my desktop from my laptop. I have tried changing the sharing and security setting on the desktop but still have no idea how to access it from the laptop. Can anyone provide me with a step by step guide? Thanks in advance
  5. Not sure if you have already seen it but the most simple site make i have come across is www.moonfruit.com they build all the site in flash and its a drag and drop type construction.
  6. Every gurdwara in Vancouver? veerji Vancouver itself is not the place to visit for sangat. Take a trip to Surrey and you will run into many chardi kala Gursikhs at the gurdwaray. about the original question, if it's a choice between tapoban sahib and southall, i would definitely go for tapoban sahib - simply because i have heard many chardi kala gursikhs go there. Southall i have heard is a $17 million gurdwara sahib - and many say that money could have been better spent on other seva projects 150771[/snapback] Its not $17 m its £17m which is about $30m USD
  7. Being one of the few on here who listens to a lot of punjabi music i can say that this song is from gurdas maan's new album called valaytena (sp?) The only bad thing is that this religious song is in the middle of his more mainstream stuff. I always think songs like this should be kept on a religious album and not mixed with "bhangra" Regards
  8. desilad, where can i hear this track? Thanks
  9. Paaji, Thanks for taking the time to reply. You have explained it fine and it makes sense. Thanks :TH:
  10. Thanks for your reply, but I did do search and could not find anything. maybe I have searched incorrectly
  11. Sangat ji, Please can someone help me understand the following? I was reading the rehat maryada on the damdami taksal website and it has the following Five not to be associated with (i.e. not to eat with or marry your children to) 1. Tobacco users People who smoke or use any form of tobacco (or drugs) are not to be associated with. 2. Female Infanticide Those who kill their daughters at birth: bRhmx kYlI Gwqu kM\kw AxcwrI kw Dwnu ] iPtk iPtkw koVu bdIAw sdw sdw ABmwnu ] “The following are all major sins: a) Killing a Brahmgyani, b) Killing a black cow c) Killing or selling your daughter, d) Eating from a person who has no moral discipline. Anyone who commits any of these has committed thousands of sins and this egotistical individual will be reprimanded thousands of times." (SGGSJ Ang 1413) kMinAw ko mwry mony ko kMinAW dyvy so qnKwhIAw ] "They who kill their daughters and marry their daughters to those who cut their hair are punishable." (Rehatnama Bhai Deya Singh ji) 3. Those who sell their daughters Those who receive money for the marriage of their daughters. 4. Those that cut some of their hair from their head 5. Those who completely shave all their hair from their face and head A Hukamnama from Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib excommunicated Narakdharees on 30 June 1978. Radha Soamis and other groups whom claim themselves to be the Guru and do not accept Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji as the Guru. These groups are not to be associated with, married into or meals taken with them. If they take Amrit from Panj Pyare, keep the Khalsa Rehat and accept Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji as their Guru then they can be associated with and they are our brothers and sisters. Most of this makes sense to me but I do not understand the piece about killing black cows, can anyone help? Thanks
  12. Knight Singh paji, Just a very quick question. I guess the idea for keeping shastre in your dumalla is that you are always ready. Maybe I have misunderstood this but if you are tying them in securely how easy are they to take out if and when you need them?
  13. Sangat Ji, I found a track the other day which is so beautiful that I have been unable to stop listening to it since. The aim of this post is two fold: 1. introduce this track, this penji has the most beautiful voice. 2. Find out how is singing and wether any of you have any other tracks by this person. The track is on http://www.ektaone.com/pl_blessingsimran.php Its called Simran(Singhni version) its by an unkown artist. I know the knowledge base within the Sangat is massive so hope one of you can identify who this is and let me know if there are any other tracks available by her. If you haven't heard any of these tracks then listen to all of them they truely are amazing. Thanks in advance Jitty :TH:
  14. Guys, I am also struggling with downloading this. It tells me that you have exceed your dowload limit and can join the premium package or wait 70 minutes. After 70 minutes it repeats the message again. Would appreciate any help. Thanks :TH:
  15. ISDhillon, Not sure what the laughing smiley is all about. But I do feel you are a very "gay and proud of it" fellow and therefore will not listen to anything anyone else has to say. Im unsure what you hoped to achieve by your post? At the end of my orginal post it does not say that I do not know why I would tell my children homosexuality is wrong. As you have advised other people in the sangat maybe you should actually read the post. I have not once said that homos are not an equal part of society, nor have I mentioned that they have made no contributions to the world. Once again I believe you are just writing what ever makes your agenda and nothing to do with other posts. Also in your post you say "you seem to think that they are all rampant sodomites and with time people such as yourself will get a rude awakening when they discover that reality is not in agreement with them." This is not my belief and it does not say anything like this in my original post (i know I wrote it and have re-read it) Finally "Anyhow thanks again for sharing with me your personal opinion but in future I would advise participants that they should draw their inferences from gurmat as I have done" - I hope you do not think that because someone copies and pastes quotes from gurbani that this then makes those views those of the gurus or even the sangat as a whole. Once again thanks for taking the time to reply.
