  1. A boy asked the father: What’s the size of God? Then the father looked up to the sky and seeing an airplane, asked the son: What’s the size of that airplane? The boy answered: It’s very small. I can barely see it. So the father took him to the airport and as they approached an airplane he asked: And now, what is the size of this one? The boy answered: Wow daddy, this is huge! Then the father told him: Like this is God, His size depends on how distant you are from Him. The closer you are to Him, the greater He will be in your life!. P.S : Sikhee is the only way, to not only get closer to Him, but, even to become one with Him. Sat Sree Akal.

  3. Life is beautiful stay connected Mother is flying a kite. Her son is watching her carefully. After some time son says "mom. Because of the string the kite is not able to go any further higher. "Hearing this, the mother smiles and breaks the string. The kite goes higher and then shortly after that, it comes and falls on the ground. The child is very dejected and sad. The mother sits next to him and calmly explains: "Son, in life we reach a certain level and then we feel that there are certain things that are not letting us grow any further like Home, Family, Friends, Culture etc. We feel we want to be free from those strings which we believe are stopping us from going higher. But, remember son."That our home , family, friends and culture are the things that will help us stay stable at the high heights . If we try to break away from those strings our condition will be similar to the kite."we'll fall down soon.. *Moral:* *"Never go away from Home Culture, Family, Friends and Relationships as they help keep us stable while we are flying high..."* Early and late All problems are only due to two words "early" and "late" We dream too early.. And act too late.. We trust too early.. And forgive too late. We get angry too early.. And apologize too late. We give up too early.. And restart too late. We cry too early .. And smile too late Change "early" or It will be too "late" COMPARISON "Don't compare your life with others.... There's no comparison, between the Sun & the Moon. They shine when it's their time... with their own virtues.
  4. Questions about soul A disciple asked his Guru- "Is there a 'Soul' in our body,? Will it not 'perish' like the body.?" The Guru explained... "Milk" is useful but if left as it is.. it gets spoiled... In case you add a drop a "Buttermilk".. it becomes "Curd".. and the Milk that turns to Curd, remains for one more day without getting spoiled... If left as it is.. the Curd gets spoiled... Yet, if you churn the "Curd" it becomes "Butter" which doesn't get spoiled... But, even Butter also does not remain fresh for many days.. It becomes rancid or spoiled after a few days... But if you melt Butter in a proper manner.. It becomes pure "Ghee", which never gets spoiled... Now, do you see that the "Milk" which gets spoiled contains "Ghee" that never gets spoiled.? Likewise, inside the "perishable" Body, there is an "imperishable" Soul... And it is this soul, which with Naam bhakti alone, which can become one with Him God Bless. Modern FairyTales "And then the princess found herself locked in a tower surrounded by a stinky moat with crocodiles and a huge scary dragon guarding the door," read the mother, with her eyes wide and voice deep. Then, she made a sad face and continued softly, "So, the poor princess waited and waited for her prince to come--" *"But, why was she waiting for the prince, mumma?!"* asked the little girl, impatiently. The mother added, "To come and save her, silly." "But, mumma, why did she need a prince to save her?" the girl asked again. "Uhh... hmm..." the mother was at a loss of words. The little girl said proudly, "If it were me, instead of waiting for years and years for a prince, I would have tamed the dragon and flew out of the window. I would have rescued myself." She discarded the book and walked away, "This princess is stupid." The mother whispered with a broad smile, "I guess it is time to rewrite the fairy tales." *Lets teach our daughters to be self sufficient n independent rather than waiting for a prince or a miracle to happen! 7. You fool, you are worst fake, and worm on earth, shameless, with your anti gurmat views...Your head is full of filth, devil personified. Come on you devil, you have said: "the Shabad Guru is the teacher of the body." Not even a foolish donkey can utter such nonsense, and you call yourself akalifauj? better call yourself a "Gadhafauj"... leader of donkeys Is this how you are true to sikhee? You continously use sikhee, to expound your ahankaree, totally wrong and antigurmat delusions. If singing His glory, is called by you false teachings, then, for sure you are a devil, as for no normal person can ever say so, even one who is not a sikh, or one were a muslim or a christian. Your thoughts are unclean and devlish, that is why now and then, you keep on having problems with different members at different ocassions continously. Which devil has oiled you and screwed you with such poison, which you shamelessly put here on a sikh forum? Foolish chap, Simran345 is my sister, not the rubbish you have said above. My relation with her and other members here is that of a brother, but as your mind is filled with jealousy, hatred, negativity, falsehood, so naturally that is what you spit...foolish <banned word filter activated>, shame on you. Your filthy wickedness has no limits, you have insulted the noble and paviter relation in mankind, which exsits between a sister and a brother... You are lucky that you are out of the reach from many of us, otherwise you could easily get your neck twisted, You are that much bad, that even to the most tranquil person, you arise feelings to get yourself beaten brutally. You are a mad fellow, who knows not how or where starts and ends, get your mental check up, and inmediate admittance in a mental hospital...no, no, better than that, go to narak, evil fellow, that is your place ....
  8. No sewa can be never ever, nor should be replaced by machinery. It is we jeevas who need sewa to do some noble and good karam, not the robotized machines. The next they will say, we shall play a CD or a tape recorder, which will do the simran, paath for us ..... atee moorakh and manmukhee attitude. It is we jeevas who need His kirpa, not the insentient machines.... it is we who need mukti, not the machines. Sat Sree Akal.
  9. Good work A man was asked to paint a boat. He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him. While painting, he noticed that there was a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it. When finished painting, he received his money and left. The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice cheque, much higher than the payment for painting. The painter was surprised and said "You've already paid me for painting the boat Sir!" "But this is not for the paint job. It's for having repaired the hole in the boat." "Ah! But it was such a small service... certainly it's not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant." "My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened. When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention about the hole. When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip. They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time. When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole. Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing. Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole! You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your 'small' good deed." _So, no matter who, when or how. Just continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively and carefully repair all the 'leaks' you find, because you never know when one is in need of us or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone_. _You may have repaired numerous 'boat holes' along the way... of several people without realizing how many lives you've saved_. *So Keep up Good work ...?* ? ? I want to thank Everyone who repaired my boat this year 2016 in every way like good wishes, thoughts, love, care & prayers.
  10. New Response If you can see and accept that you create your own stress according to how you are responding, you will then see that there is something you need to unlearn as well as learn. The old response needs to be unlearned, and a new response needs to be learned.
  11. Brother Jacfsing Jee, following is the information I have found and gathered to your questions, I hope it somehow satisfies your queries. COCONUT: The coconut (Gujarati. – nãriyel, Sanskrit. – nãrikel) is used as an auspicious pujã offering. It has several virtues and underlying sentiments. Its important virtue is that the coconut tree takes in salty water and gives sweet and nutritious water through the fruit. Similarly, man is inspired to mould himself by eradicating his ‘saltish’ swabhãvs and to become sweet within. In ancient times, Vishvamitra rishi created the coconut, to be used as an offering to appease the deities to halt animal sacrifice. In this manner the rishis propounded ahimsã during ritual offerings. Since then the coconut has become a symbol of sacrifice. Therefore in any auspicious venture or ritual, a person offers a coconut to a deity with the sentiment, ‘I offer myself at your feet’. TILAK: The tilak is applied on saints and image of the Lord as a form of worship and in many parts of north India as a respectful form of welcome. The tilak varies in color and form. This custom was not prevalent in the Vedic period it gained popularity in the Puranic period. Some believe that it originated in South India. The tilak or pottu invokes a feeling of sanctity the wearer and others. It is recognized as a religion mark. Its form and color vary according to one caste, religious sect or the form the Lord worshipped. In earlier times, the four castes (based on varna or colour) – Braahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra – applied marks differently. The Brahmin applied white chandan mark signifying purity, as his profession was a priestly or academic nature. The kshatriya applied a red kumkum mark signifying valour as be belonged to the warrior. The Vaishya wore a yellow kesar or turmeric mark signifying prosperity as he was a businessman or trader devoted to creation of wealth. The Sudra applied a black bhasma, kasturi or charcoal mark signifying service as he supported the work of the other three divisions. Also Vishnu worshippers apply a chandan tilak of the shape of “U”, Shiva worshippers a tripundra (of the shape of “=”) of bhasma, Devi worshippers a red dot of kumkum and so on. The chandan, kumkum or bhasma which is offered to the Lord is taken back as prasad and applied on our foreheads. The tilak covers the spot between the eyebrows, which is the seat of memory and thinking. It is known as the Aajna Chakra in the language of Yoga. The tilak is applied with the prayer – “May I remember the Lord. May this pious feeling pervade all my activities. May I be righteous in my deeds.” Even when we temporarily forget this prayerful attitude the mark on another reminds us of our resolve. The tilak is thus a blessing of the Lord and a protection against wrong tendencies and forces. The entire body emanates energy in the form of electromagnetic waves – the forehead and the subtle spot between the eyebrows especially so. That is why worry generates heat and causes a headache. The tilak or pottu cools the forehead, protects us and prevents energy loss. Sometimes the entire forehead is covered with chandan or bhasma. Using plastic reusable “stick bindis” is not very beneficial, even though it serves the purpose of decoration. 5 PASSA Money offering, represents detachment from our dhan, to which most are so stuck to. Genearally speaking,it also represents, that we want to give our deity the best, of our wealth, clothing to dress, and eatbles, just as fruits and sweets. Sat Sree Akal.
  12. But all these 15 mentioned are due to the mind. Who gets the gratification in them all? Of course the mind. Who creates paap or punya? Of course the mind. Not the soul. That is why we can say, mind is the barrier. The soul is a particle of that Supreme Truth, Akal Purukh, Sat Chit Anand, thus karmaless. Sat Sree Akal
  13. If you have lost connection with sikhee, then, do as some posters have advised here on another thread titled "education", as education is essential for sikhee ... Just joking, sorry jee . Let us see, what is sikhee? Sikhee or sikhya, in essence is also education, but not of the world, but of ruhaniyat/spirituality. The worldy education is limited to the gross, and of a lower consciousness, while sikhee is of the trascendental higher unlimited consciousness. From worlldy people we get knowledge or information/education of the gross material world, which is indeed very much necessary as long as we are here, be it in any spheres: art, academic, music, war, weapons, sports, etc ...absolutely everything. On the other hand, Sikhee is not about customs, or rituals, Sikhee is about the relation and reunification of the sikh soul, with the Shabad Giuru or Wahiguru Akal Purukh, that is it, nothing more nothing less. Worldly education gives us knowlege of the limited and keeps us in the wheel of 84, Sikhee´s education gives us the knowledge of the Infinite, not only that, but reunites us with Him. In worldy education, one may fail, as all do not have that mental capacity nor capability, but with Sikhee, there are no failures, each and everybody can merge in Him. That is why the Bani says: Bhaee parapat manukh deh hooreeya, Gobind milan kee ehe teree bareeya. Those who are weak in faith, say, not are all destined to become one with Him. If that was so, Guru Jee would have never ever given us human birth, nor have said that this human birth was given as an opportunity to realize Him, He would have said, only few could do so. We humans impose limitations on ourselves, and then blame Him, when the fact is, He has kept all our potentials open for us, other thing is, we are not aware of it, or are very much entangled in the mayavee creation and waste our lives after shadows... Ekas bin sabh dandh hae..... He is the only permanent reality. What is a span of several hundreds, thousands or millions of years, in comparison with eternity? Nothing. I, me he, she, we, they, here, there... is all temporary, is fanah, is koor . But inspite of all that, we have to be wise, for while being in the temporary state, we have to catch hold of that premanent Truth, which otherwise can never happen. The Bani clearly says: Jin har japeeya, se Har hoeeya; but brothers, so if we do not do the prescribed method given to us as Gurparsad from Guru Jee, it is totally our fault. When you say, you have lost connection with Sikhee, that is not you as soul, but your manmukhee limited mind, who is confusing you. The soul is of the same essence of Akal Purukh, it can never ever severe its ties from Him, just as a Sun ray, at the end of the day, it returns back to its source the Sun, though it has covered millions of miles to reach here on the earth, but in reality it has never lost its connections with the Sun, it conserves all its faculties intact, that as the Sun, as per heat and light. In your case that you think you have lost connection, then as per Gurbani, the problem is in the mind, it is the mind which needs to be cleansed throughly, for that purpose the Bani tells us: Prabh ka Simran, man kee mael jaae. If a diamond falls in the gutter, its value does not diminish, it just needs a throughly cleanining, that is what we most need all, His bhakti. Do not loose hope, He is there, just take hold of Him, through His Bhakti. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  14. Let us step the coming year, by filling ourselves with the bliss of His Aarti, His Beant wadeeayee... Sat Sree Akal.
  15. Sharing this good video, for it shows, that inspite of the world being rude and merciless, there are still good souls, who without any self interests, help mankind .... that too, it is His utter Grace. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Wishing all the Sangat a very Happy New Year 2017. May the coming year be filled with love for Wahiguru, so that we may live in His Bhaana and remember Him at each step of our lives and thus fulfill our objective of human life. Sat Sree Akal
  17. Pen Jee, first of all take a dep breath and say Wahiguru lovingly, it will fill you with kirpa, do not get disheartened. You are an independant person, so what if you are married and a woman, you are first a human being, and deserve respect as anyone else. People have very big mouths, unfortunately talk rubbish, and always condemn the woman, as if the male is a saint .... Mostly men are beasts, and are to be blamed for their misbehaviour. Come on Pen Jee, the world has changed a lot, women are progressing fatser and face any man with dignity. Do not be timid, talk lovingly but firmly, do not raise your voice, while talking and explaining your situation to anyone, otherwise people will say you are a trouble maker, that is how society is ... If needed, sue him, by taking the aid from a good lawyer, in most western countries, there are governmental institutions to help women in your situations and worse, to help and guide them, do not fear, you have taken a first courageous step, carry on, as all the members posters on this your thread, are willingly trying to be helpful, each one with his/her best ability. God bless you, Pen Jee. Sat Sree Akal.
  18. Brother Dallysingh101 Jee, I have no where stated that both education and sikhee can not co-exist at the same time; even in my upper post I said each one is necessary in its respective field, my only point was the to the OP, as he said that, education is essential for sikhee to exist. It is here where I differ. As one can be uneducated, but still be very much with the essence of sikhee, for to do His bhakti and become one with Him, which is all sikhee about, worldly gyan is not essential at all. The education of the world, is for the world, no matter even if one is a genius, it will not take you even an inch towards Him. On the other side, even if one is intellectually dumb, but pure in heart and mind, then brother with His grace, even Brahma, Vishnu or Mahadev and their consorts, are tiny in comparison with the bhagat jan, gyan wise, as that sikh devotee, becomes a Brahmgyani, by becoming one with beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh. I will never ever advise anyone to not get education at its best, because while being in the world, we have to know about it, and the more the better, but we should not think that education is essential to have His darshan, or get closer to Him. Ravan had all the gyan possible, he even had accsess to the gods, but because he never knew about sikhee - bhakti, he never knew anything about Akal Purukh, nor did the entities to whom he worshipped, ever knew anything about Wahiguru. For that purpose we have to strictly walk on the path of sikhee/Gurmat. That´s it. Sat Sree Akal.
  19. Just one point, education is not essential for sikhee to exist. It is like saying, I am a teacher, and this is essential for being a football player, for example. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Sikhee is complete by itself as per Gurmat, it needs no complements. Sikhee to be fully realized needs only love, faith and regular devotion. Sat Sree Akal.
  20. Brother, education is necessary to live and earn our daily bread, generally speaking. Sikhee is essential for cutting our bonds from mayavee creation to become free, merge in Him and become one with Him. Both can coexist at the same time, and are necessary in their respective fields, and as far as we know our limits and goals. The key is logic, sense and balance. Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Motherly love There were days when my home used to be filled with laughter, arguments, fights, jokes and loads of mischief. Books used to be strewn all over the show. Pens and books all over, and clothes messing the rooms, thrown on the beds. I used to shout at them to tidy up their mess. In the morning: One will wake up and say: Mama I can't find a certain book. And the other will say: I can't find my perfume, And one will say: Mama where's my homework. And will say: Mama I forgot to complete my homework. Everyone used to ask about their lost possessions. And I will say, but take care of your stuff, be responsible, you have to grow up. And today I stand at the doorway of the room. The beds are empty. All the cupboards have only a few pieces of clothes in them. And what remains is the smell of perfume that lingers in the air. Everyone had a special smell. So I take in the smell of their perfume for maybe it will fill the empty ache in my heart. All I have now is the memory of their laughs and their mischief and their warm hugs. Today my house is clean and organized and everything is in its place, and it is calm and peaceful. But it is like a desert with no life in it. Do not become angry with your kids about the mess. Every time they come to visit and they spend time with us, when they are ready to leave. They pull their bags and it is as if they tug my heart along with it. They close the door behind them and then I stand still and think of the many times I shouted them to close the doors. Here I am today, closing my own doors. Nobody opens it besides me. Each one gone to a different city or a different country. All left to find their own path in life. They have grown up and I wished that they could stay with me forever. Dear God :Take care of them & all other children wherever they may be , for you are their guide and their protector ... and always keep them happy.. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fine tuning If you were to give volume to your thoughts what would they sound like - sweet, melodious, or annoying and loud? Switch on your volume every now and then, and listen to yourself….. Do some fine tuning if required.
  22. Brother , the fact is, the soul always has a pull towards its origin, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. It is only that sometimes the mind is in higher mood, so we become conscious of our reality somehow, that we are in an alien land to which we do not belong. Our desh is Sach Khand. Our zaat/kaum, is Satnam. But in order to be more regular with these higher vibrations, Gurmat advises us to do bhakti at a regular daily basis; then with this prem dee jugtee, our mind gets purer and purer gradually. Then there comes a point, that with His grace and our efforts (bhakti), we become more spiritual wise, and have more clearer and certain, that in our lives if there is any priority, that is Akal Purukh, and everything else is secondary. That is all His beant wadeeayee. Sat Sree Akal.
