  1. There are some people who just want to stir up a controversy. "Guru Granth ji maneyo Pargat Gura ki deh." It is for everyone to believe in and they can learn from it it is jagat Guru. However Radha Soamis say it is only a book of shabads and Sikhs should stop bowing to it. One thing where they contradict themselves is Narad, if asked who Narad's Guru was they say Shabad. So if Narad's Guru was a Shabad what problem do they have with Sikhs having a shabad Guru? And of course Bani is for everyone if properly respected. It isn't entirely censored like muslims and christians do to their bibles or how Radha Soamis say only they get their naam. And what is the Radha Soami's qurbaani? Has he sacrificed his sons? Have his disciples fought with their heads cut off? Has he himself attained Shaheedi? How many Shaheeds do they have? And how many people become Radha Soamis internationally? What will be done when he their leader dies? How long will deh dhari preachers last in their cult?
  2. I have seen Sikhs answer many Christians, Hindus, Muslims etc. raising points on Sikhi and spreading misinformation about Sikhi but isn't it time that we should make pages answering pages like these: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dont-call-me-Indian-I-am-a-Sikh-from-Khalistan/218854928190410#!/Islam.Sikhism They do not look at their own religion and most of the articles on Sikhi are biased and have only what the author thinks. He has taken a few words and expanded on them rather then looking at the whole, line incident, shabad etc. Also one gets the impression the author Abu Adeeba seems to support conversion of Sikhs through lieing, intimidation etc.
  3. Can u please describe the process step by step please.
  4. Are there any specifications for wearing Kirpans for amritdhari, as in it cannot be rusted etc. My one is a bit rusted, scratched.
  5. Ji I have a question for you all my school is having a ball in four weeks time and in a few days time I am going to be an amritdhari. I want to live 100% in Rehat Maryada and the ball will be alcohol-free. Can I go and are there any restrictions along with that?
  6. So who will know Shastar Vidya which nihungs would have taught it after the Guru's time. It cannot be lost like that I fail to believe that.
  7. I personally don't believe he is the only one with the knowldedge of Shastar Vidya. There are probably others. What about Damdami Taksal?
  8. I am sure the Nihungs would have had a system of unarmed combat, after all they were warriors and what if someone sneaked up on them or they were wihout shastar or had no time to use a kirpan. And I am sure someone somewhere will know what is it and how effective it is. Please share your thoughts on this topic and lets not argue esepcially since some people start slagging of or approving of Niddar Singh.
  9. Schools are world class but the job scene is getting tougher and tougher. Go onto immigration new zealand and see what they have to offer for students. Follow their advice 100%.
  10. Probably saying faiths with only one guy are a bit nutty. If u catch my drift. We have ten Gurus. But Christians have one Jesus and muslims one Muhammad.
  11. A few years back there was this massive outcry about Sikh girls being deliberately converted into Islam through fraud, fake love and so on... I came across this link in which the person claims to be an ex Sikh but has converted due to some reasons. Basically if this person was a Sikh then she has no knowledge whatsoever about Sikh ithiaas. I personally belive it's just another way of getting Sikhs who are ignorant about their faith to convert, heres the link: http://www.whyislam.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4820 Is this still continuing? And if so what can be done or is being done to stop such incidents?
  12. No I don't think it's Bani at all, I think the seller is desperate to get it off his hands and needs the money and is trying cheap tricks.

    Few Questions

Answer one. Amrit is initiation into the Khalsa Panth, but it is a step closer to naam simran. From what I have heard from mahapurakhs. Khande bate da Amrit opens the way for ek boond amrit which opens the Dasam Dwar. The Kakkars are a reminder that we are the Guru's Sikhs and each Kakkar has a spiritual meaning for the Khalsa. Answer two. No, because even though you do good deeds you destroy them through your carnal pleasures, such a person cannot be liberated because he/she is still caught in the jaal of maya. Answer three. Heaven and Hell are basically temporary places, where the same jaal of maya entraps inhabitants. They probably go there depending on the deeds they have done and then are put once more into the cycle of birth and death. Only Naam Simran is the way to God and liberation.
  14. Can anyone please explain to me the concepts of Sargun and Nirgun please?
  15. Can anyone please explain to me the relationship between karam and Hukam in Sikhism? And how they affect one's life?
  16. Thank u everyone especially Bhagat Balmik, this will be a great help.
  17. Can anyone please provide me with a list of questions which Christians might ask Sikhs and their answers. This is for a website I am making. Please help. I also asked a similar question a few days ago and got an excerpt from Sikh spectrum in which a reverend was answered about the points he raised on Sikhi. I am hoping for something more similar in a question-answer type thing.
  18. Thanks guys, I am also thinking about making a website, there are many illustrating differences between Sikhs and other faiths but other then personal experiences of ex christians nothing.
  19. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh. I recently came across a former Christian who coverted to the Sikh faith, she told me how her decision was inspired by the fact that Christianity is an exclusive faith. I want to know how Sikhism theologically differs from Christianity, that is it's view of God, and man's goal on earth.
  20. I personally have the gut feeling that there is more to this incident then meets the eye.
  21. I think Guru Ji probably did have a kirpan with him but he was peaceful and the world at the time was different. He didn't have to use it. But as Sikhi progressed Hukam came from Akal to use shastars.
