  1. ok so i ask the question then a hukamnama comes then?

    Step one: Go to: http://fateh.sikhnet.../CyberHukamnama

Step two: Do Ardaas as usual in which you ask your question, tell Guru Ji about your issue and ask Guru Ji for a Hukamnama.

    Step three: Click "Take Hukamnama"

I think you may need to click on "Click on the icon to view this Shabad seperated" if it takes you to a middle of a Shabad, im not 100% sure though.

  2. in relation to the youth problem then I think its because religion is increasingly associated with boredom, lack of fun and and lack of freedom. Todays generation are all about finding short term pleasure. Eveb amongst amritdharis, most of the younger ones tend to focus on the sipahee aspect of sikhee, listening to bir ras type song from immortal production (nothing wrong with this) instead of gurbani and focusing on the saint aspect cos the sipahee aspect is considered 'cooler' if u will. we definitely need to instill the wisdom in our kids from early ages that pleasure is a disease, and short term happiness is of no benefit. Teach them big concepts in short form, don't brush them off just cos they're kids. Sikhee starts in the womb, mothers should be reading paath to their babies then. Parents need to play an active role in their childs religious and spiritual life and also need to make sure they themselves know about sikhee, it can be disheattening for children when they ask a qsn and their parents brush it off because they themselves don't know the answer

This dunia isn't the problem, neither is Kalyug. We're the problem. The singhs and singhnees of time remain detached in kaljug, so kaljug isn't unbeatable we just need to make the effort!!

Very good post! But "pleasure is a disease" sounds a little vague. They should be taught where to and where not to derive pleasure from. I understand that we're meant to remain detached but sometimes on this forum i get the impression that Sikhs are somehow supposed to be completely devoid of feelings like a zombie or something! We have hobbies, do we not consider those pleasurable?

Children get bored because they're not always taught in a way that they enjoy and in this day and age learning needs to be fun with all the distractions around and ways they can get "short term happiness". With Maharajs kirpa the wisdom will come to them as they grow up and they will understand what difficulties come with that kind of happiness. Its sparking that initial interest we need to work on, the interest that will lead to the true source of pleasure, Naam!

  3. Daas is also thinking about creating a website and organising a team where we can actively convert people to sikhi like the muslims do. What does sadhsangat think about this?

    Daas

    Consciousness

In all your posts you sound like you're brainwashed and it sounds like you've brainwashed others into supposedly following a Gurmat lifestyle or what is your warped view of a Gurmat lifestyle.

And are you joking with the comment above..."actively convert", we dont actively try to convert people into Sikhi! We do parchaar and inspire people to want to learn more about it and to learn about it themselves.

Sadh Sangat thinks there is something seriously wrong with you!

  4. A very few number of Sikhs who eat meat would eat halaal meat knowingly.

Paaji, this is not true. The majority of Sikhs who eat meat do not care what kind of meat it is, Most of them know the place where they are eating is serves halaal meat unless of course they miss the huge halaal signs outside! I have even pointed it out to them in the past. Most of the restaurants owned by Sikhs also use halaal meat, knowingly. Im not sure where you are based but this is certainly the case in the U.K. Pagal hogai sare!!

  5. Also Auzer in the other post you said.....

"You don't need to bring Islam in everything...Get over with your inferiority-complex regarding Islam....

Did I ever make any comparison of Sikhism with Islam? There's a reason... You can't compare the two faiths...Just like you can't compare India with China........"

    and

"See the Sikh members here who ALWAYS bring Islam in....Whereas , I NEVER even wrote the word "Islam" throughout my posts..."

Inferiority complex? Tu ki boli janda?! And the other things you mention about comparisons with Islam and the Sikh members bringing Islam into their posts.....Auzer you are coming onto a Sikh forum where Sikh people talk about Sikhi....You are a Muslim coming onto a Sikh forum to try and "discuss" Sikhi with Sikhs which is fine but your posts are pro-Islamic and pro-Pakistani which just so happens to be an Islamic state which means you are by default bringing Islam into the topics so dont give me that rubbish.

  6. Well too much political talk...lets get to point....

Ok so I was once told by my Sikh friend that hairs are gift of God..God doesn't give you anything for no reason...right? So why you cut the hairs? etc...Well I was thinking about it...but then it suddenly struck me that this argument nullifies vegetarian thought...Well see , we all have studied biology here (atleast I hope ! lol) ... Our human body is made to be omnivorous ! We have canines in our buccal cavity...their sole purpose is to break the meat...our digestive system is "designed" to digest meat..we have different acids SPECIFICALLY for digestion of the meat... So why would God give us all these things , if he had wanted us to eat Vegetarian only? Remember , God never gives us anything for no reason..right?

Isn't it a contradiction in Sikhism?

    Thanks!

Auzer Ji, you are too quick to try and point out contradictions in Sikhi when there are so many unanswered questions in Islam. Explain these first before you start on other religions.

Your argument is ridiculous and unjustified . Muslims try their hardest to emualte their prophet and do things "just because he did or because he said so and its sunnat".

Imo this again, is ridiculous as the majority of things you do are baseless, however, as you believe he was the messenger of God somehow copying him will get you to heaven, then thats fine. My point being Muslims do many pointless things none of which have any value or valid reason; trimming your moustache a certain way; wearing trousers halfway at your ankles; raising and lowering certain fingers at specific points during namaaz; stepping into a mosque with a certain foot etc etc! I could also bring up the classic arguement of circumcision, we have canines in our buccal cavity because we're supposed to eat meat hey, the foreskin must also serve a purpose yet you decide to cut it off!!

    Waheguru...

  7. I'm going to be honest, it's quite common to have a Gujerati boy/girl or white boy/girl get married in Gurdwara's in Leicester...we've got a big problem in Leicester with non-Sikhs getting married in Gurdwara's

I can't verify this but i heard on Sunday 1st July a Muslim girl got married to a Sikh boy at East Park Road Gurdwara!! It apparently took place earlier then usual. I know there was definitely a wedding which took place early but not sure about the bride and groom! Know anything about it??

  8. The hymn below is sang before the ardaas and is from Sukhmani Sahib and appears on ang 268.

The hymn after the ardaas is by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is below:

aagya bhai akal ki tabhi chalayo panth

Under orders of the Immortal being the Panth was started.

sab sikhan ko hukum hai guru manyo granth.

All the Sikhs are enjoined to accept the Granth as their Guru.

guru granth ji manyo pargat guran ki deh.

Consider Guru Granth as representing Guru’s body.

jo prabh ko milna chahe khoj shabad men le.

Those who wish to meet God can find the way in its hymns.

raaj karega khalsa akhee rahae na koe

Khalsa will rule, no enemies shall remain

khuaar hoe sabh milengai bachae sharan jo hoey

Those separated will unite, and all the devotees shall be protected.

vaheguru naam jahaaz hai charae so utharey paar

The Vaheguru mantra is the boat, whosoever enters will get off at the other side.

jo sharda ka saevaday gur paar uthaaran haar

Those who remember God with their hearts, the Guru himself takes them across

khanda jaa kae haath mai kalgee so hae sees

In his hand is a double-edged sword, and on his head a royal plume

so hamree rachiyaa karae guru khaldee dhar jagdhees

Guru protects us, the wearer of the royal plume, protector of the world.
