  1. Say for example Brar died that day. What difference would it really make? Also how do you think this news would be reported by the worlds media? General Brar killed in act of revenge or General Brar killed in act of justice?
  2. If you look at it from a neutral perspective, reading news story about 78yr old man being attacked with attempt to take his life and he survives with a couple scratches then yeah, in the eyes of some, he probs does look like a hero. As far as the Law is concerned the people you call hero's are the ones that have wronged. I wasnt there and havent read any detailed reports of what exactly happened, but IMO them guys trying to kill Brar shouldnt have ran away. If they didnt run away there wouldnt be no need for no counter terrorism unit and 13, 15 16 people arrested or whatever the number is. I dont know how the Police works exactly but the Counter Terrorism Unit, probs is better at dealing with foreign stuff than your average Constable which maybe why they were called in. I'm not saying the people who attacking Brar were wrong. I understand people want Justice for what happened in 1984. The Governments been asked over and over and we get nothing. I understand that part. But theres still a part of me that see's this whole incidence as an act of revenge rather than Justice. Maybe my view is twisted I dunno.
  3. I was wondering a while back why we didnt have a political party. United Kingdoms been good to Sikhs since we all came here. We have our basic human rights and usually get treated fairly/equally(i talking generally, i know people do still have problems here and there but thats usually down to individuals and not the system in place). its good compared to state of other countries. Also Sikhs themselves have done well to grow their community and become quite successful in things like Business, Education, Medicine etc. As a community though we have been quite passive in Politics, even though Politics affects us all through Legislation and decistions made. So yeah I think Brit Sikhs need to be more active in Politics and continue to contribute in a postive way aswell as making sure our voice is heard.

    Dry Skin

I've had eczema for years, not as bad as some people but it is quite horrible having it all the way through your childhood. But looking back at it I think I couldve dealt with it alot better had i been more conscious of what was going on. Its like my skin starts tickling. So I scratch it. Which causes skin to lose its moisture. So it tickles more and i scratch more. Eventually the skin breaks and opens. Which causes my skin to get irritated more so i scratch more. Before I know it its all over my neck. Best advice I can give OP cut your nails so you cant scratch yourself and make your skin worse. Also mentally be aware of when you start scratching and stop yourself. As far as creams go, I just stick with Nivea Creme now for moisturising. E-45 have some good ones aswell, like I think they have an itch relief cream for inflamed skin. Maybe just goto pharmacy and see what they can suggest. Best creams are the ones that feel cool when applied. With stuff like Vaseline, about 20mins after applying it i used to wanna tear my skin off but everyone reacts differently to things so might work for you. Lastly try figure what is causing your skin to start itching in first place so you can stop it happening in future before gets bad/worse. goodluck.

    halal meat

I know Muslims who have done this and also drink alcohol and other stuff they not "supposed" to. But thats their choice. People running these canteens, takeaways, supermarkets that sell Halal food are just trying to make cash and thats all they concerned with. I think they see it as if they sell non-Halal food muslims wont buy the food. But if they sell Halal food muslims will buy, also so will everyone else cus others dont "care". Which is wrong IMO and even more wrong when the food is not labelled for what it is, but thats another subject. I think c) take your own food. probs better not buying from there full stop. But yes, if its the case of being offended IMO it will be because of the prayer to Allah on the tape running in the background while the person/machines cutting the meat.
  7. Personally, I feel more lazy growing my hair lol. In reply to OP, I think as someone who has recently started to let his hair grow after many years of being bold and clean-shaven I think i can relate to OP somewhat. I'm not very good at reading into what people are saying but to me, _random guy_ it sounds like you've made up your mind already about what your going to do but your just weary of what others might think. First thing i say is dont worry too much about what other people "might" think. Think about how you actually feel about this which sounds a bit selfish really, but its you who will be affected. You give comfort and neatness as reasons to trim your facial hair, but I think you need to look a bit deeper into this cus IMO you can have a 20ft beard but still keep it neat lol if you look after it. Also think about 10yrs time, will you still be trimming your beard? how will you feel doing that for so long?
  8. Read my comment again. I asked you about dhudh and protein yet you didnt mention that in your reply. Obviously you see some value in your opinion else you wouldnt give it to others. i aint against people giving opinions, thats how discussions work, but when someone asking for help you should make sure the opinion you give is atleast correct information. so "the way you look at it" if your Khalas or Khalsa, then you don't take protein at all. Khalsa dont take protein at all according to your opinion? What about rice, lentils, peanuts etc? dont that stuff contain protein? Then you say : You stick with natural stuff. I may be wrong but I have a friend who goes to the gym and he's pretty buffed up and he doesn't take any protein at all. Drink dhudh my man lol Hello? doesnt dhudh contain protein? how can your friend not take any protein at all? I think in your opinion your refering to protein in general as something else which i mentioned earlier in previous post maybe you need to rephrase your comment. Theres lots of sources for non-animal protein.
  9. Why you telling him not to take protein at all, then you saying drink dhudh? doesnt dhudh contain protein? Maybe you need to rephrase your comment. Dunno if its been suggested above but you could probs try google "how to make your own protein shake powder" or "how to make veg protein shake". Pretty easy making your own. Also by making yourself you will know whats in it.
  10. We hired some vans and drove there from punjab. Never really looked into it but you could probs go by plane Amritsar to Nanded changing/stopping at mumbai in between.
  11. There most likely is egg whites in the product IMO, they probs made a mistake in the labelling. Can you not phone the manufacturers and get it cleared up first? Or write them an email or something? Also complain about it and it hopefully doesnt happen to anyone else. We pay for something, we expect it to match description given on the label atleast lol. read this info maybe if you want to take it further http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/scotland/consumer_s/travel_leisure_and_food_e/consumer_food_and_restaurants_e/complaints_about_food_labelling_and_advertising.htm
  12. i've done somethings I'm not proud of and made myself very depressed etc in the process which also has a negative effect on the body. i think you can make things worse for yourself like this as theres only so much stress your mind/body can bear. Its good that you have some regret for your actions but dont be too hard on yourself so you harm yourself. Making a few mistakes here and there doesnt make you a bad/evil person. For some people it may be neccessary to make mistakes in order to learn and teach others from your own experience to help them also. You cant go back and change things. You've recognised some of your mistakes. Now look to improve yourself. Everyday is an opportunity to better yourself. Also take time to reflect on how your in this Mortal body but your actually an Immortal being so how is your experience relative to that? Some very good suggestions in posts above mines also.
  13. your nails are dead cells when you cut em dude. The fingernail is formed from the cells located in the growth plate called the epithelial cells. There are three types of epithelial cells: squamous, cuboidal, and columnar. As these cells age they are pushed outward by newly generated epithelial cells at the base of the nail in the growth plate. These cells that have been pushed forward, in the never-ending process, eventually die, allowing the inside of the cell to be taken over by the hard protein keratin which is why our fingernails are so hard and constantly growing. http://www.blurtit.com/q592050.html
  14. Guru = teacher. They teaching how to walk the right path. Theyre not claiming to be anything. I'm still learning about Sikhi but I read the other day Guru's themselves asked not to be worshipped. So when we celebrate their birthdays and things like that isnt that idol worship? Or maybe i misunderstood? Talking about God I think is very hard. One persons perception of God probably totally different to how another see's God. One might view god as a really big person sitting in the clouds. The other might percieve God in the minds eye as an ocean of light of which we are all droplets. I suggest to you read/meditate on Nitnem daily.
