  1. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Trying to be Khalsa Jee! The reverend Guru's Vaaks are wondrous. Strange, all available translations are false and imaginary. From the first Vaak 'parvirtee karam' is translated as the daily duties of married life. This is not correct. Nor 'driRaaiaa' means performing. This Vaak is about the first step of true Naam Simran and its experience. This is a different story why it is read for the marriage purpose. The translation of the second Vaak, in my view, is this. SGGS Ang 773 Speech, Brahmaa, the Veda, the Dharma is established. Sins are abandoned, bali raam jeeo. Balbir Singh
  2. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Bijla Singh Jee! I hope you keep the discussion live and stick to the topic. You wrote "Taking one line out of the entire Shabad and twisting its meanings to suit your own manmat is not an act of a Sikh." Is reading the entire Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee again and again is not manmat? Please provide one reference from the true Gurus where they have suggested so. I will be grateful. My Gurdev suggests receiving so much through ONE Word but you are feeling uneasy with one Vaak from the Guru. Why? Please listen. Guru Naanak Dev Jee is singing. Chanchal mati tiyagi bhao bhanjanu paaiaa aik sabadi liv laagee. SGGS Ang 1232 Why you and your preachers suggest jumping from one Vaak to another restlessly? Is this that gives you need of thousands of Akhand Paaths? Quote "Hating an idol and rejecting its worship are two different things . . ." And you are the master of manipulating the mind when not to hate the idol but always rejecting its worship. Quote "Human being is much better than a stone since human jooni is the highest . . ." My Gurdev says all is Godly. Nothing is higher or lower. Please provide a reference from your Guru and oblige. Thanks for referring the wonderful Vaaks from Guru Arjan Dev Jee. Jog jugati suni aaio gur te. Mo ko satigur sabadi bujhaaio. ||1|| rahaao || SGGS Ang 208 Gurdev is thankful getting, resolved the Gur of one Sabad. May I ask why preachers suggest to read whole Granth repeatedly to resolve the Gur of one Sabad? ***** Sunny_love_kirtan Jee, Thanks for referring the Stanza from Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. Paahan means stone and not the stone idol as per your referred translation. May I ask why so many flowers and petals are plucked and offered in Gurdwaaraas? ***** This is the same Jogee Gurdev is singing about as referred by Bijla Singh Jee. Please listen. Gurdev is singing. Aisaa jogee vadbhaagee bhetai maaiaa ke bandhan kaaTai. Sevaa pooj karao tis moorati kee naanak tisu pag chaaTai. SGGS Ang 208 Only ignorant can misinterpret the reverend Guru's Vaak or misunderstand it? Balbir Singh
  3. Pray Truth for ball and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Bijla Singh Jee! Please do not spread anti Gurmat. You wrote "It is a false statement. Bani of Bhagats clearly speaks against idol worship, . . ." The word Moorati occurs many times in Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. Not once reverend Gurus have criticized Moorati rather, they have praised it and suggested worshiping it. Please listen. Gurdev is singing. Sevaa pooj karao tis moorati kee naanak tisu pag chaaTai. SGGS Ang 208 ***** True Gurus never said that God is not in stones. Therefore, do not teach to hate stones. Balbir Singh
  4. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Harinder_Singh Jee! You seem to be the knower of the Dasam Granth. Please refer one Vaak from Gurdev that you feel you have understood without borrowing translations. A gyaanee like you does not need other translations. Balbir Singh
  5. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all! It would be great to learn astronomy Vidyaa before producing a new calendar. Suns, moons and all stars are moving in God's Hukam today also. The reverend Gurus did not produce a calendar of it. Nor they suggested someone to do so. Entangled in a calendar, they are trying to mislead the seekers. Truth is Paramaatmaa. He is leading you remaining a part of Sansaara. Balbir Singh
  6. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and BhForce Jee! No, I thought I could find GOD by reading a book. Balbir Singh
  7. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal, Dear all and BhForce Jee! My question is 'Is Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee now patented from Sikhs, for Sikhs?' I will be grateful if you have information about this. Balbir Singh
  8. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all! For many Sikhs their Satiguru is God. Satiguru for them is also Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. In my last visit to Amritsar, I visited a book store and publication near Harimandar Saahib and requested for God in the original Form. The salesman told me that exclusive rights to print Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee now belong to a management body. My curiosity is to know. Is Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee now patented from Sikhs, for Sikhs? Balbir Singh
  9. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal Dear all and Mehtab Singh Jee! You wrote "Why don't you try it before I answer your question?" True Naam Simran is not a try. Many have tried it, whole life. The praise of the Sabad Guru is experiencing it. It is never received by repeating words 'praise of the Guru', 'praise of the Guru', 'praise of the Guru' . . . Are you not surprised? Why any of the reverend Gurus never suggested repeating the word 'Vaheguru'? One stops repeating the word 'water', 'water' when he drinks water in reality. Again, praise of the Sabad Guru is the result, not the precondition. Quote "Once you have, you won't need someone like me to answer anything. You'll have all your answers." O! Really! Why are forums full of questions about Naam? Why Seekers return home spiritually thirsty after listening preachers? Balbir Singh
  10. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Mehtab Singh Jee! You suggested preaching "How about getting up at Amritvela and recite (or sing) Vaheguru with all your love and concentration for, say 20 minutes?" The reference from the reverend Gurdev, in your first post of this topic, is to do Simran of Naam Narayan. But you are suggesting doing Simran of Vaheguru. Whom should a Sikh follow? Also, Gurdev never suggested counting or remembering the clock time. Why are you suggesting reciting (or sing) for twenty minutes? I find Amritvela when praise of the true Naam begins. Why should one go to sleep before Amritvela? True Gurus sing that love and Bhagatee is the result of Naam Simran. You say it is the precondition for this. Why? Quote "Try for a couple of weeks, and if you don't get your answers, well, then you need to try harder." Thanks for your suggestion. I hoped you have answers. Balbir Singh
  11. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all! Please listen. Gurdev is singing 'gagan main thaal . . . '. It means thaal in gagan. It does not mean gagan is thaal. Also, Gurdev wrote Aartee explaining. Everything in the cosmos is doing Aartee as God wants them to do it. My curiosity is to know. Is singing this Hymn, mostly incomplete, is the way of doing Aartee allotted to Keertanias? Is the audience participating in doing Aartee by hearing Keertanias? What is about those who are not present in Gurdwaaraas? Balbir Singh
  12. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Mehtab Singh Jee! Thanks for your post. Further guidance is but still due. Quote "Pray good digestion for all and . . ." From which Guru one learns such prayers? Balbir Singh wrote "Please explain it. A person does Simran of something else whole life. How does he switch over to the Simran of Narayan before death?" Quote from Mehtab Singh Jee "I guess he/she would have to do Ardas." My curiosity is to know. Can someone do Ardaas for 'Naam Niranjan Neer Naraayan' today also? Quote "Simran is a daat from Gurujee . . ." Please provide one reference where Gurdev has said so. I realized Gurdev singing several instances. Wisdom (Gur) of Naam is received through the Sadhoo or a Saint. I have one more question. Words the Gur, Satigur, Guru, Satiguru, Satiguroo etc. occurs often in Hymns from Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. Did the reverend Gurus use these words for themselves? Balbir Singh
  13. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and Mehtab Singh Jee! Please explain it. A person does Simran of something else whole life. How does he switch over to the Simran of Narayan before death? Balbir Singh
  14. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all and S1ngh Jee! Thanks for a sincere and constructive post. Quote from Balbir Singh "Gurdev confirms it 'Nobody has realized truth by reading books'." S1ngh Jee "and you realized the truth?" Balbir Singh "I have also not realized truth by reading books." Quote from S1ngh Jee "To you guru jees bani scripture is a mere book but to us it is more than that and it take ages to understand." Guru Jee's BaaNee is spoken Truth. Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee is the written collection of their Hymns. One may realize wisdom of Naam first. Then he will be able to praise Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. Realizing truth is not possible by repeatedly reading Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. Reverend Gurus have often mentioned that Gur (Wisdom) of Naam is received through BaaNee. They never mentioned that the Gur of Naam is received by reading. ***** Quote "Sure Sikhi is not a business but it is duty of every sikh to donate dasvandh to sikh kaum . . ." That is strange. Sikhi is not a business but please give one tenth of your income to Sikhi. Please explain. Why the true Gurus never used the word 'Dasvandh'? Quote " . . . we are having problems of sikh preachers asking for money for their time/energy and to feed their family." First decide what Sikhs are seeking. Is it karam-kaand of a worldly religion or true Naam Simran? Organizers invite sick preachers for stage shows who are having empty bellies only. They have nothing spiritual to offer. Please ask yourself. Why Sangat remains thirsty after hearing them and falls back in the daily miser? Quote "None of us try to discuss on how to remove such problems from our society." This is a great point. In my experience only true Naam Simran is the way. Quote "Fifty years ago... nobody pay for arranging Akhand Path as family themselves do the path for their or kaum's benefits, so your quote on saying "300 years" is useless unless you can prove that back then ppl use to give money for arranging akhand paths and so on.." My grandfather used to tell about his grandfather's evidence of such practices. ***** Quote from Balbir Singh "Strange! Sikhs are seeking solace and their preachers go on telling stories which the true Gurus never mentioned even." S1ngh Jee wrote "Yes that is what is going on in places like sikh missionary college, ldh and their co-sponsored nastak camps taking place around the globe." They are frustrated as well and looking for new ways only. But changing a dress or buying a new faucet alone does not quench the spiritual thirst. Balbir Singh
  15. Sat sri akaal! Dear all and S1ngh Jee! Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee has not one Vaak but hundreds where reverend Gurus clearly say. Nobody has realized truth by reading books. Since three hundreds years people are also collecting or spending money for reading Sri Guru Granth Saahib Jee. Sikhi is not a business (dhandhaa). Strange! Sikhs are seeking solace and their preachers go on telling stories which the true Gurus never mentioned even. Is this the result of learning Sikhi that Sikhs are not finding the way how to get solace as the great Gurus have suggested? I hope you are a great Sikh and will participate in discussion a nice way. Please do not try to be personal. Balbir Singh
  16. Sat sri akaal Dear all and Papi Jee! Please listen. Guru Amar Daas Jee is singing. parhi parhi thaake saaNti na aaee. sggs ang 120 by reading and reading get tired. Saanti does not come. ***** You wrote "If I really wanted solace then I would read Gurbani, others may do sewa, others may do yoga, others may go play some sports, others may find a good friend to talk to, others may play a musical intrument ...the list goes on..." Do Sikhs follow different ways to get solace? Balbir Singh
  17. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal! Dear all! What does a Sikh do to get solace? Balbir Singh
  18. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all! Did the Gurus open many schools to teach Sikhi? I wonder why many branches of Sikhi are growing fast. Balbir Singh
  19. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all and ms514 Jee! Quote "Psst...hey...Balbir...everyone dies...thought it was kind of a known fact. Too bad you took the law of the Almighty as a threat." That is right. The law of the Almighty is for everybody. Nevertheless, the murderer thinks of the other's death. Killing others in thoughts brings the same results. Quote "'Shabad marai tis sadaa anand' Wrongly translated AGAIN. It means that those who kill their ego with the Shabad are forever in bliss." Word 'Sabadi' occurs more than nine hundred times in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. Not even once it says 'through the Shabad' or ego. The guru does not talk meanings. The guru talks Truth. Quote "Seriously, learn basic Punjabi..." One should learn Punjabi from your Baabaas, No Thanks. Better learn Gurmukhee to become a true Sikh and merge in God. Balbir Singh
  20. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all and Pakandi Baba Ji! Quote "Shabad is the Word, how can this ever die? The Word is God" Thanks for the ideas. It is a very sincere point. It may help us contemplate in a positive way. Balbir Singh
  21. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all! Quote From Papi Jee "balbir singh, you have too many questions. thats not good. try to calm your mind down with simran and sewa." It seems that some persons are tired of Satsangs about the Guru. I hope they do not want to stop many others. Quote from ms514 Jee "I think you better worry that you will die one day." Only murderers think like that when they want to become picaach, prayt, bhoot or their relative? Quote from Narinder Singh Jee "By saying that shabad may die one day, youre saying that God may die one day." No. This is your interpretation. Gurbaanee says "sabad marai tis sadaa anand." SGGS Ang 364-7 When Shabad dies, in him is always happiness. When somebody dies through Shabad how can he live all the time with happiness. Shabad also does not mean ego. Perhaps the translators have understood it otherwise. Balbir Singh
  22. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all! For Sikhs Shabad is the Guru. Should a Sikh be worried because Shabad may die one day. Can some please explain this? "gur kai sabad marai man maaray ha-umai jaa-ay samaa-i-aa." SGGS Ang 1068-8 Balbir Singh
  23. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal1 Dear all and s133k_s1kh Ji! Hi Teji, God is looking pretty in your hairstyle. By clicking the PM button one can send invitations too. I hope people learn from ms514 how hairs can grow faster. Quote from ms514 "Yes, but being the Brahm-Gyani you are, you should have known that when I was registering, it was June 12. See, it's not all about you." Is it true that Friday 13 June 03 followed just few hours later? ************** Strange people do not know the Guru of their Guru. Nor they found it interesting to know, these poor offsprings of the unknown offshoots. Hope to meet again in Satsang with new topics. Balbir Singh
  24. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all and ms514 Ji! Quote "Do you believe in black cats and stepping on cracks too?" No. I have mentioned the past. Truth is not only true in the past. Quote "Also, the date is June 12, 2003...musta read my profile wrong." Sun rises in the east first. In my computer the date is Friday 13 June 03. Quote "Didn't know Brahm-Gyanis made mistakes...sad, very sad..." See, what your given titles to others can do. Quote from mann_kaum_layee_qurbaan Ji "Sikh sangat should not be a venue for pseudo-gurus and babas trying to take us away from sri guru granth sahib ji." This is the great Saywaa of this site that false Baabaas have started worrying about their earnings. The time of false translators, interpreters and misusing Gurudwaras has begun already. No body has suggested going away from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. Your slogan is false as your belief. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee is precious not because some feel they have got Him in their fist. We cherish Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee because He resides in the actions of the true Sikh, his mind and heart. Balbir Singh
  25. Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal! Dear all and ms514 Ji! Quote "The Guru was...and that is written in Gurbani. Perhaps you skipped reading that over...that the Guru will save the sinner of sinners." Is this the reason some have become the sinner of sinners? Quote "Take a hint and straighten up before you find yourself at the end of the Sangat's ire." I saw politicians seeking a stage in Sangat. Sometimes they try to hide behind. Do not cry for the Sangat. Sangat belongs to God not to erred persons. Quote "True...post your address and contact information. I am sure many members here and elsewhere would love to contact you." Do not seek a shield again. Send me an invitation if you want to meet personally. Quote "DO make this available on the internet. I am sure the world would love to read over what "Brahm-Gyan" you have to share." The world has also started loving you since we are exchanging views. Quote "You are on the fast track to being Ashutosh...good work." Who is Ashutosh? What is your relation with him? I will respect him if he is your relative. Quote "May the Sangat bless you as they blessed him." I always knew you had a big heart and sometimes think well also. Quote "But don't blame me for the consequences for your popularity." God listens, all my words and cares specially who praise. Quote "Remember, you are the one who opened his eMouth..." Ms514 Ji became a member of this forum Friday, 13 June 03, a strange day and date. His member number is thirty-four. He sent 2391 posts till the date. I pray God for his well being. Balbir Singh
