  1. ya so in conclusion of this thread _________________________________ (willing to fill in the blanks anyone?) lol
  2. they can be answered... answer(s) follow: ignorance..stupidity...lack of knowledge... and in some cases.. even lack of faith in God
  3. but Sikhi also condemns certain beliefs in certain religions.. So by condemning are we judging or by judging are we condemning? by comdemning, we are finding different ways of believing... we are not judging... i go by what Gurubaani says...and Gurbaani says that fasting will not get you closer to God than if you werent fasting.... so really, IM not comdemning... and im not judging... make sense jio?...
  4. but Sikhi also condemns certain beliefs in certain religions..
  5. loving guns wouldn't either. but u still do it. we dont do everything in life to get closer to god, if we did we woudln't be still looking i luv guns..yes, i do... but Sikhi doesnt tell me not to love guns..so i luv guns... see you said that we dont do everything to get closer to God but...we're talkin abt the article... what the lady did, was to be a better disciple in her religion/fatih etc... and she...died  Sikhi dont agree to this... you kinda went off the same table as me when you said "we dont do everything in life to get closer to god, if we did we woudln't be still looking"
  6. im sure santhra is some sort of ritual or belief, or some type of ceremony get over the santhra word ..lol... the point is fasting is not allowed in Sikhi, thank God... and fasting would get you NO CLOSER than God than if you DID fast.
  7. wats up with montly thing???? my mom is usually wicked all the time. its very rare she gets frustrated Hey I dont get it but a lot of the other women in my family do...not nice stay on topic veero... lets NOT disucss the monthly thing... .... not everyone on this forum has the same maturity level so please DO be careful...
  8. now what i have to say IS going to be offensive... and im tellin you all now that its not going towards the girl who was mentioned in the first post...cuz hers was marriage... so ya..what i have to say IS offensive... but i dont care at this point...cuz what i have to say is true...and ive seen/read/heard too many things like this to be perfectly honest.. girls in our community who do this sort of are idiots there retarded, i swear why cant they friggin find a good sikh guy to marry...there are plenty out there they dont cuz they're really stupid they just let their OWN <admin-profanity filter activated> fall into these damn traps does anyone FORCE them to go out with some Muslim??? i didnt think so... what do these idiots offer the girls, which Sikh guys dont offer???? what is it??? money??? respect??? love??? sex??? ha!! ...thats plain stupid... no girl gonna get respect from a muslim guy... they just use the girl for sexual means...and then they say "oh ya, so im leaving you now to marry a pure girl from back home." ahahaha...thats when the girl goes "oh damn..hes been playing" damn right hes been playing... its the girls fault... if she got raped, its diff. but a lot of girls put themselves into this trap then when they need help, they cry for help who told them to do this crap in the first place??? their moms??? their dads??? their bros??? their sis'??? SIKHI??? ahahaha...they just want a guy to mess around with..same for the guys what can u do there just idiots...meh and as for the girl mentioned in the fist post; im really sorry to hear of such a thing..i mean, she got married to him, and she was sold..thats so low... i suggest her to get into Sikhi and become a good Sikh girl...and then marry a good Sikh guy... she wont have any probs as long as shes faithful to God. DONT MARRY A MUSLIM, UNLESS YOURE A MUSLIM i dont hate Muslims...its just that...there are certain things they do which we cant cope with... SO DONT MARRY THEM DUH*** kaljug...meh peace... GurFateh.
  9. ya youre right jio... i mean...there are still things we see that apply to this issue women still dont get paid as much... its not fair... but life is life :D and... umm...this is kinda off topic..but Japman jio...please use "Guru" in front of "Nanak" im not perfect or tryin to get you in the spotlight or anything..sorry, it might be offensive... but its something i learnt...to always say at least "Guru" before a Gurus name..and "ji" after  i might have made it look like you dont have respect...but i know that you do. i respect you jio...so.. im really, really, really sorry if i offended you...i truely am... its just something i learnt...just a humble request jio  Maaf Karna jio
  10. To be honest, you actually are cool. :D Bigz Ups to you for pushing the racist girl down the stairs. Show them the power of Amrit. :TH: hehehe this is kinda the reason why i didnt mention it earlier...lol but s'all good..lol
  11. omg...these fags crack me up and...doesnt Santhara mean orange in one way??? i dont get it...is this hinduism??? whats the meanin of this fasting??
  12. hmm... this is a good topic in my opinion...but hey think abt it when lookin at the entire world itself... my post might come out to be offensive...but its not..im sorry if it will offend anyone..but its just me expressin my views. its not going to any individual or a gender or w/e... its me and my views: our Sikhi...our rules of Sikhi...our followers of Sikhi... compare all of that to other things... do any of you know when women in Canada were FIRST allowed to vote???? any of you??? think abt the date!!! how long did women have to wait for it??? now...look at Sikhi. women had this right when our Gurus were preaching. i dont get this equal rights thing... i HONESTLY dont think theres equality anywhere you go. women in Canada still face sexism. they dont get paid as much as the guys. THEN...you get women who DONT WANT to do something cuz theyre too chicken look at things like...whenever theres issues in the Sikh kaum...theres a meetin etc. my daddy always goes to these meetings if he got time and all... my mom?? hell no. i tell her to go. she says "Buriaa nee jaandeeaa" (women dont go) i say "why not" she say "cuz its not a place for us women" i say "why not. whats in those meetings that prevent us from going" she say "thats the way it is, and you cant argue with this fact" i say "whatever. after i turn 20, ima go to all these meetings." she say "you'll be looked down upon" i say "whaaa?? why?" she say "cuz you'll be the only girl" then i make my final statement: "i'll take other girls with me" then...my mom calls me a rebel. "LOOKED DOWN UPON"??????? "REBEL"??????? now the probs that come up here are: 1.) girls in our community NOT wanting to go forward. how many girls do you see protesting?? if guys have the mic...how many girls do you see walk up and take the mic and start speakin?? how many do you see who even TAKE the mic when its being OFFERED??? 2.) girls are being stopped by people like their moms.... girls dont really have THAT much of a CHOICE when theyre younger than the age of like 20ish....?? and to just bring a small conclusion... i'd like to say... that im still living...even if i dont have equal rights... just cuz i dont got equal rights, dont mean that i aint got a path that leads me to God this kind of thing dont stop girls from reaching bliss... so we dont really have to worry THAT much ya, at times we do...but... thing is ....dont look like we gonna get equal rights... peace...GurFateh.
  13. you have a gun, if you said you were god i wouldn't say no. well i hope you would say 'no' to anyone who said that :D but i am pretty cool init :D but im sure that all Gatka akhaadas teach both the one i go to... i started doin the real Gatka (with shastar) after almost 8 months... before that it was all hands on stuff dotn know abt other akhaadas
  14. does your mom know u carry a gun  **sshh** (even youre not supposed to know) :e:
  15. wow....hes 6 yrs old and hes flexing :D holy, thats wicked stuff of course, no one can be as cool as me :umm:  yes, yes..... im joking
  16. my sis and bro dont have the accent  i dont know anyone but a 2 of my cousins who have the English accent to their Punjabi
  17. for me its def. English.... i can read and write Punjabi (better at readin though) but.... i cant speak/understand punjabi a lot of times... im lucky if i do...thats if you speak slowly and/or things i hear all the time and stuff people make fun of me and all andddddd.... i have an Egnlish accent to my Punjabi its really embarrassing :'( but i try...i really do
  18. whoaaa, thats news to me. i thought most parents didnt like it when their girls wore them tight clothes  i know eh... when i wear clothes that are tight etc, i put on a jaket or vest of some sort over it and i zip it up..untilllll.... (people wont believe me, but) my mom doesnt let me wear a jacket...she makes me take it off and if im lucky and i get to wear it, she NEVER lets me zip it up this creates a lot of arguments between my mom and i
  19. umm...riiii well... cuttin hair is one of the BAJAL KUREHITS (sp?) so OF COURSE its worse than wearin a hat  but... what abt those stupid people who have a patka with joodaa, and wear a cap over it??? i think thats just pathetic eh
  20. ACTUALLYYY.... i asked my mom MANY times if i could do Degh di seva...she says ok...then when its time for me to actually get up and do it, she says "changa nee lagda. bande haige ne karan lei. tu rehn de." (it dont look good. there are men who can do it. so leave it.) and for Hukamnaamaa as well... i was gonna do it once at my friends Sukhmani sahib Paath. but i was told that i couldnt. no one told me why not. and my mom told me not to ask cuz its "talking back" as for Panj Piyare... thats an intirely diff topic that has been discussed over and over... i personally dont think we girls get treated the same when we should be. i cant drive alone EVER, though my mom FORCED me to get my license... she never let me really practice with her...till now ONE YEAR AFTER GETTIN MY LICENCE... ONE YEAR  im turnin 18 in oct.... am i not old enough for driving alone? my bro is allowed to wear loose clothing, where im not. and i dont like tight clothing. i dont even like medium. i like lose. but im a girl and its "not for girls to wear" but yeah...these are my views. peace... GurFateh.
  21. i dont think i'll be taking panga with you from now on just remember that i warned you long ago as well
  22. the problem is between the monitor and the chair  why am i NOT lauhging.....?
  23. i think the best place is wherever you make it if you follow Sikhi with a full heart, i dont see the prob i live in a completely white-based town i go through a lot of problems... lol i used to complain and all... people are rude and disrespectful ive been in fights and all even got suspended for throwing a racist girl down the stairs...poor girl its not the nicest thing... but its not effectin my Sikhi, so how can i say that its a bad place for Sikhs? i just ignore people now i try not gettin into fights...though i feel one comin up  but yeah... as long as you keep to what you believe in, how can a place be 'bad' for your Faith?
  24. GurFateh Sangat Jio. i just wanted to bring across somethin i noticed in a public library i went to. i went there to actually look up stuff for a project.. so i got my stuff and all.. then as i was abt to like walk outta the library, i noticed a pile of books which were all on religion. i guess someone/some people used them for a project or w/e anywho.. i noticed some books on Sikhism. i was quite hurt though. cuz when i opened it, it DID have Gurbaani Tuks in it. and of course pics of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Mahaaraaj, and (i know a lot of people dont believe in pics of Gurus..but) pics of our Gurus as well... (though they all One) but ya...i wanna ask.. so isnt this like... bad kinda sorda? cuz i mean, yeah its good that there are books on other religions for people to learn abt and all... but i mean.. isnt this disrespect? shouldnt be on the floor init and even if people agree and all... what can we do to prevent this kinda disrespect? i didnt know what to do... but i was really hurt to see that eh like not only for sacred writings on Sikhi...but other religions too but of course, im gonna speak for Sikhi. i know a lot of Christians who dont have the same way of respecting their holy artifacts etc as we do. same for other disciples so im speakin abt Sikhi books etc... so what you guys think?
