frankly, if i had that faith, and he was with me no matter what, i'd step foot into a BILLION clubs, cuz i know nothing would hurt me... different perspective eh?
I disagree because Guru is not used as some sort of protector, only God protects.....guru is a teacher and he teaches you about life and God. Going to a club is not part of his teachings. Lets look at the sakhi of Bhai Joga. Bhai Joga was a great Gursikh and he wanted to go to the Kota....
lets look at what happens on the kota.....night time, provocative dancing, alcohol.....doesn't sound too different from a club right?? Also not everyone who goes to the kota is intent on intercourse just like everyone who goes to a club. Also in a kota if something is to happen both sides consent just as u expect in a club although lets be honest sometimes there's the overly drunk person who is just throwing their body onto everyone.

my very honest answer is simply "he's stronger than me. In all honesty I dunno how these ppl get in cos they cannot get in wearing kirpans.......unlike Islam the reasons we do not go are not antisocial reasons. The reasons make logical sense but only is ure willing to see.
A final thing - do u know that Guru Gobind Singh Ji's horse refused to walk across a tabacoo field? I'm sure it was pretty damn strong in its sikhi too, it wasn't gonna smoke, it wasn't gonna do anything other than pass through BUT ITS NOT ABOUT THAT THOUGH. The horse had better sense than the most of us to know that a sikh is a saint.
I dont go clubbing because i dont want to its as simple as that and you're right sitargirl there are ''singhs'' on facebook et al who go to clubs and you can see their pictures there of them kissing random white girls! but anyway simply they look like idiots and they arent cool! earlier you said "I see like these amazing sikh ppl go" i think you are sometimes too quick to judge just because someone who wears a turban and keeps a beard doesnt make them amazing etc if they were into sikhi they wouldnt be in a club in the first place and if they go to clubs just because they follow other sikh men that doesnt make them a singh it makes them a sheep for following the other singhs!

Oh please, one minute i am going to cry that i am loosing hair, and then when i start getting hair i am going to cry because i am becoming too hairy. Dont we see a pattern here, just go with the flow. Regarding girls and stuff, hair or no hair, looks or no looks, girls care mostly about how confident a guy is.
not just confidence but personality and all that other crap too but anyway im thinking theres no point asking a person with lots of hair about the value of kesh because they have lots of hair BUT if you ask someone who has no hair then they will point out the importance/significance of keeping kesh.
my advice to the original poster is screw what other think and just accept that you are who you are now and get into sikhi that will help you more.

Whilst it does in no way excuse what certain guys are doing, we also have to face the fact that we ourselves are producing la significant proportion of seriously dumbo <admin-profanity filter activated>.ty kurian as a society and deal with that. Or else they will always be getting pimped or used by someone.

In the political world NOBODY cares about sikhs, bnp is just saying those things to to get the sikh vote thats all........just because you take a racist thug and put him in a suit doesnt make him a saint now does it, people need to a bit more alert just because the bnp are raising issues that affect sikhs doesnt mean they will help help us now does it................the only group that can solve the problems that affect sikhs are sikhs themselves!
The BNP also use teh SIkhs to justify their cause in this respect, essentially they are saying "we are not being racist, look even the SIkhs complain about this issue".

this is my understanding so if im wrong then im sorry.
the gurus wanted us to stand out and not be scared to display our faith, i.e. sikhi, right? and sri guru gobind singh ji codified this SO why do people always go on about science and hair and then somehow end up talking about nails??? i mean some sikhs say our gurus wanted us to look natural i.e. not changing our look and then get confused when somebody asks about cutting nails etc but i always thought they just didnt want us to be scared to display our faith so which is it, if this post confuses you then im sorry.

to start of with im 23 and male. and was reasonably happy untill i turned 19. when in one day my whole life turned upside down. some people may think im vain.
but discovering that i was losing my hair at such a young age just gave me a killer blow whicch im still suffering from. at that age your suppose to be enjoying yourself. without any worries. i had plans to go off to university. but when i discovered that i was losing my hair. i just became numb with sadness.
i didnt leave the house for a long time. it came as a very big shock. because eveyone in my family have full heads of hair. im the only one out of about 100 males that is losing their hair.
i just felt that i had let everyone down by losing my hair. even though its purley a genetic thing and i had no control over.
i just forgot about uni. i thought what was the point in going to uni. when i couldnt even leave the house due to the hairloss. at that age looks mean alot to a person. i thought i dont want people feeling sorry for me. when they look at my hair. and i would be seen as ugly.
so i just didnt go. my life just stopped at 19. i didnt do anything. my hair was constantly on my mind. who would want a guy thats suffering from very bad hairloss? how would i even get married.
now 4 years later. my outlook has changed and i probably made a big mistake ie putting my life on hold like that. my love life suffered alot. i after 19 i didnt even have the confidence to approach a girl.
to put it in a nutshell. hairloss runined my life and the best years of my life. and now i just feel regretful everyday that i havent made anything with my life. i was even thinking of wearing a turban. as alot of males in my family do. but when i discovered the hairloss. theres no point wearing a turban as ive lost most of my hair.
i just had to let this out.
why do people think that if you keep hair then no one will want you esp. if you're a guy??? both sexes overestimate what the opposite gender really wants i think. be yourself and be comfortable with who you are.
