  6. A few questions raised by another Sikh that the 'Evening Standard' and 'Andrew Gilligan' should think about before writing and publishing such articles: If Dabinderjit Singh was appointed to the Transport for London Board in September 2006, why has Andrew Gilligan waited 20 months before pointing this out? When Dabinderjit Singh was appointed to the Transport for London Board was he a member/sympathiser/associate of a banned group? If Dabinderjit Singh is a 'respected' senior civil servant who has presumably been security cleared, is there are issue of him serving on the Transport for London Board? I think the article incorrectly states (in two places) Inderjit Singh Reyat was a member of the ISYF. For the last 22 years and in Canadian courts it has been stated he was a member of Babbar Khalsa. Has Andrew Gilligan found new information? Atma Singh, a former President of the Indian Overseas Congress (Congress was responsible for the killing of around 20,000 Sikhs in over 130 towns/cities in India in the November 1984 anti-Sikh pogroms) appears to be one of the sources for this story. Was he not sacked by the GLA for incompetence, lost in his employment tribunal and was found to have put the lives of Londoners at risk following 7/7?
  7. The following is a speech by Bhai Dabinderjit Singh Ji at the Bristol City Council House on 1st April 2008, providing a glimpse of the huge Sikh sacrifices made in the World Wars. The speech is from around 22.15 to 25.25 http://www.bristol.public-i.tv/site/player/pl_compact.php?a=14173&t=0&m=wm&l=en_GB The Lord Mayor later said this was one of the most best and moving speeches in the meeting that day. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=36432

  9. Another attempt to destabilise the Sikh Agenda and the Sikh Nations legal right to self-determination: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?showtopic=36431
  10. The following is a link to a CBC radio interview of Vancouver Sun reporter Kim Bolan regarding the recent trip of Bhai Dabinderjit Singh Ji to Canada. Evidently, its intentions are to destabilise the democratic peaceful Sikh Agenda and the Sikh Nations legal right to self-determination: http://www.cbc.ca/mrl3/8752/asithappens/20080318-aih-3.wmv The interview is from 9:08 to 16:35. The Sikh Agenda is made up of around seven aims and objectives; only one of these aims is the support for the Sikh Nation's right to self-determination. Why is the Sikh Agenda, which also raises issues affecting Sikhs in their countries of residence, such as increased political representation, government funding for Sikh schools and groups, and generally promoting Sikh interests in their adopted lands being portrayed as entirely a Khalistan Agenda, and why does this right to self-determination seem to be such an issue for them? They claim "there is a concern whether it is a community group seeking self-determination, or a violent terrorist group with a political agenda?" The Government of India, its supporters like those in the interview, and the anti-Sikh agencies are known to have attempted to make the word "Khalistan" synonymous to "terrorism". The interview is attempting to portray the Sikh Agenda as violent. Why does the Sikh right to self-determination, implied by these people, have to be violent or linked to terrorism? With no facts, they try to imply that those engaged with the democratic peaceful lobby for the creation of Khalistan, and those "advocating separatism" get involved in an armed struggle. On what basis do they make the assumptions that those involved in a democratic peaceful lobby for the exposure of human rights abuses and the right to self-determination will get involved in an armed struggle? The recent news reports in Canada from the Indian Government clearly reveal that the Indian High Commission, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and their supporters fear the thriving Sikh Agenda. Being implemented in the United Kingdom by organisations such as the Sikh Federation (UK), it is now slowly being adopted by other countries as well. They are determined to suppress a democratic and peaceful lobby. Not long ago in early 2006, India was shaken by peaceful candlelit vigils around the world and (unsuccessfully) attempted to seek a ban on the peaceful vigils held in the UK to show opposition to the death penalty (in India) as well as protest the illegal detention of Sikh political activists in Indian jails. Now they are alarmed at the work of Sikh activists who are travelling to various countries around the globe in order effectively put into action a democratic and peaceful agenda worldwide. Recently the Prime Minister of India/Indian High Commission has raised concerns of "resurgence of the Sikh separatist Khalistan movement in Canada". When did the fundamental right to self-determination in International Law become unlawful or a matter of concern? Further, Kim Bolan tries to suggest that Canadian Sikhs will provide financial support for an armed struggle in India. It would be interesting to know from where Kim Bolan sources her biased ideas to defame the Sikh Nations peaceful lobby for Khalistan? Such biased media which are the mouthpieces of the anti-Sikh agencies, and the interference of the officials in India is only making the completely legal international Sikh lobby stronger.
