yep all my peripherals are unplugged and i do ntfs and it works with ntfs just got these comps last july so i still got a couple months warranty hopefully

ok i did what u said above and same problem so i guess i have to locate a copy of 98 or just wait until monday and get a tech to come in thanks for the help though

ok balait umm its the same problem on both computers i used to different recovery disks although they are from the same company so maybe it could be the recovery disk? but i also tried my own copy of xp professional and it never worked so that leads me to beleive that it is hardware....so how would i go about checking if it is a hardware problem, considering both computers were working yesterday

yep everything is compatible as i have reformatted this comp before but now it just went ape on me

umm i have the software yes and it is legal but nothing works and i have no idea what to do next

well from everything i read on the internet i figured i had to update my bios so i updated my bios but i can only start up in safe mode which is better than nothing but i still need to fix it so lets go from safe mode now

also when i try going into safe mode it will hang at mup.sys i have searched google but it all seems so complicated anyone wanna help?

I have a huge problem im trying to reformat 2 of my computers and so when i completely reformatted them i htought it was all going fine and everything and then installation finishes but then it restarts and that windows screen comes up with that scrolling bar thing and it just freezes ive tried to install xp 5 times already and its the same result everytime i have tried different versions and i always delete the previous partition some help me quickly!!!
