  1. WLS

In Sikhi, Waheguru is the centre of everything, everything goes come from the Akaal, is part of the Akaal and goes back to the Akaal.

The how's and the why's are immaterial and the proofs is nothing more than ego.

In regards to how our Guru can hunt and be an environmentalist at the same time, it is all part of the balance of the universe. In my view, being a Sikh is living in balance, whether we are talking about miri-piri or being a sant-sipahi.

Only the Akaal can make two seemingly contradictory things happen at the same time, but once you connect to Waheguru it makes perfect sense.

    Scientists change the

Scientists change their minds and views and theories all the time, the only thing that is constant is Waheguru

  2. Project management and meeting deadlinbes wasn't the problem. It was the lack of enthusiasm amongst Sikhs parents in the catchment area.

Thats not true, as it was the biggest gurdwara in woilverhampton that along with another 2 pushing the project. Everybody knew about the school, even thought there were some gurdwaras who offered no support, the wolverhampton sikhs still knew.

The curriculum is only words until the results come out. As this was a new school, there obviously was no way of knowing how the school is going to perform. We still wont know how its performed until there is an ofsted report on it. However the performance isnt the issue. The fact is that its a Sikh-ethos school, but it has been abandoned by the Sikh parents who live in the areas right next to the school.

In a time of public scathing against wastage, obviously the public are not going to be happy that a school only has 20 pupils and is costing the taxpayer millions.

I only hope that the next years (september) intake will see a rise in numbers. The govt has given the Sikh community the potential to have a Sikh sschool free in wolves, and there is a lack of enthusiasm from the Sikhs.

And this coming on the back of the "Trojan horse" case in birmingham, makes you think how far behind other communities we are, when it comes to these issues.

  3. The Lebanese are the main Muslim group in Australia and they are also trouble makers.

It may sound racist, but for a harmonious society, countries do need to consider where they do source their immigrants from.

When you source immigrants from Islamic countries, they want to take over the countries they emigrate to. Whether in Europe, Australia or even parts of Canada as per this thread there does seem to be some communities from one particular religious group that seems to be in the forefront of "community tension"

  4. As Sikhi expands, I can envisage there will be cultural differences between Sikhs in different parts of the world.

I can envisage that there will be Chinese Sikhs one day and langar could be noodles served with chopsticks or Kirtan in Black African Gurdwaras may be done differently.

Some of these differences we may have to accept, but that rave is just weird, very cult like but I do not know enough about 3HO to make a judgement.

  5. I am not against what Basics of Sikhi Singh has said, but observing that last 170 odd years and observing what history has taught me is that no one appreciates what Khalsa fauj has done particularly our Hindu brethern. Akaal Purakh di Fauj can only happen if we have sovereignty over ourselves, not as doormats for others.

Unfortunately humans being humans understand strength and we are not in a strong position.

Remember that we were under a western power and were one of these "martial races", it really worked for us post 1947.

  6. You are implying that Christianity provides equality when it clearly does not.

Caste system exists amongst Indian Christians.

Your analogy about Obama is like saying that Manmohan Singh being prime minister of India means that the High caste Hindu has high morals and thinking.

The Dalits are on the up politically and they are increasing their power politically with some of the Chief Ministers in the BIMARU states being Dalits.

As to whether I would vote for a Dalit. I tend to look down on all politicians whichever caste they belong to. However, if there a corrupt Jatt/Khatri vs less corrupt Dalit who has proactive approach and get things done to improve governance, reduce corruption, improve living standards for all and increase opportunities for all then I will vote for the Dalit.

  7. So in order to prevent poor Sikhs from falling into the christian/baptists/evangelist clutches we need to cut off the financial incentives, very difficult in the current sell out bribery culture in India.. What we would need is high quality Schools that focus on Gurmat as well your basic curriculum.
