  1. Here is a question for you people. I'd like your views on this sort of situation which is common nowadays.

What are your views on boyfriend/girlfriend relationships (assume no sexual relationship)?

It would be wrong for a Amritdhari and a Non-Amtridhari to engage in such activities, but what about two people who are both seeking the same thing..>Amrit...both are on the same point on the path and both feel the same about Sikhi? If they both agreed to get married would this be acceptable (assuming their parents knew about it and agreed too).

loll isnt this the perfect scenario, the parents agree, the kids agree , they are on the same path and they are gonna get married................... so the answer is obvious :@ the arranged marriage bit is a tradition in punjabi culture, i think its ok but then it doesnt matter whether u choose ur partner or ur parents its upto guru ji if its gna work out or not.............

  2. i dont understand why ppl bring this up,

why should we change the religion or the path to God............shouldnt it be the other way around........we should change not the religion.

this is why islam and christianity n hinduism has lost its reall meanings , beos ppl change it.

if we change it to meet modern time then ppl wud make it the easiest thing ever.

just cos its hard doesnt mean it needs modernising........thats my veiw in a few words, hope no one is offended.

  3. yea thats a gud question ...........even the queston about kids who are brought up without knowledge of God or religion e.g when being born into a gora family etc they kids will drink n smoke etc n not know it is so wrong ............... but God will judge them accordingly i suppose.

those who know the truth and still dont mend their ways will probably be punished more.,,.........

the SGGS ji is the truth which is available for everyone no matter what colour caste or creed or religion.......... the Khalsa panth created by Guru Gobind Ji is where the rehit comes in .......... anyone can read the SGGS Ji it is for the whole world not just for sikhs. The rehit is for the Khalsa ........i think .....someone will probs know better

  5. WJKK WJKF

maybe the film with the nihang singhs is not deframing sikhi..........maybe they agreed to get on the big screen so that ppl are more aware about sikhi ..............

if sikhs are only allowed to appear in films which are strictly rehit then we wud never have any sikh awareness in films ....... there would only be a few but thats it.

You gotta remember its only a movie........... and think of it as a positive thing that they are using sikhs in films. i know what you guys mean but we need to let sikhs get noticed ......... and obv ther are limits

MY understanding of doing seva of the shoes is to learn to become humble , to 'bring yourself to earth' if you have too much pride , and to realise that we are equal. ITs like an act of humility...............all this about givin your good deeds n taking good deeds is just misguided talk amongst ppl

so plz dont stop doing this seva .................

everytime i see this kinda stuf, i get really angry. I was born in 85, but i wish i was a young jawan in punjab at the time.................... hopefully the time for Khalistan will be in my lifetime and hopefully be alive to experience it.

one thing i know for sure, this time Khalsa Akal Purak Ki Fauj will be so well prepared, just look at the millons of ppl outside of punjab who all are educated in the facts , and the cause, this time it will be the last time.

so after graduation , we cud all pop over to india , get our Khalistan and then ill help all u guys on how to run the placelol ........ but on a serious note ppl shudnt doubt sikhs , everthing will be fair and just. As Bhai Rama Ji ses in his book, Guru Gobind wont give us Khalistan till we are ready , till ppl become true Sikhs ..... The Guru Grath Sahib Ji will lead us.

JO BOLE SO NIHAL SAT SIRI AKAAL!!

  9. this isnt the first time iv heard negative feedback from the sikh times UK .

They have got ppl from all different back grounds working for them , and some dont have much knowledge on Sikhi , because they published the readers letters n the sikh times ppls apology said that they ask their writers to fact check n stuf.............................. i think they need to sort their act out.

im realy not sure what their problem is............ they also never reply to my emails when i send them.

i think the veer ji asking about Guru Gobind Marharaj , just wants to know for educational reasons, or just general knowledge.

I myself am not sure , but Guru Gobind Singh Ji did bhagti at Hemkunt Sahib and theres something mentioned about his past life regarding that.

But u lot are rite about ppl goin on and on adn on about things which we cant change.

Yoga in the Sikhism, our religion should not be intertwined with Yoga, they are 2 different things, but Sikhnet is intertwining to two!

"The Name of the Lord is the enjoyment and Yoga of His servants." - Guru Arjan

"Without the Lord's Name, who has ever found salvation? " - Bhagat Kabeer Ji

"What good is Yoga or indulgence in pleasures?" - Bhagat Kabeer Ji

"All Yoga is in the Name of the Lord" - Bhagat Kabeer Ji

"What is the good of practicing Yoga" - Bhagat Jaidev Ji

"Remaining unblemished in the midst of the filth of the world - this is the way to attain Yoga." - Guru Nanak

"Know that Yoga and sacrificial feasts are fruitless" - Guru Tegh Bahadur

"Cannot satisfy themselves by practicing restraint through Hatha Yoga." - Guru Nanak

"This is the Yoga of the Gurmukh: Through the Shabad, he understands his own soul, and he enshrines within his heart the One Lord. " - Guru Nanak

"One who dies in the Shabad and conquers his mind is the true hermit; he understands the Way of Yoga. " - Guru Nanak

"Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, you shall find Yoga." - Guru Amardass

"The Way of Yoga is to remain absorbed in Truth." - Guru Nanak

"O Nanak, without the Name, Yoga is never attained" - Guru Nanak

"Listen, you hermits and Yogis. Without the Name, there is no Yoga." - Guru Nanak

"He tasted the tasteless stone of Yoga." - Bhai Satta & Balavanda

"He (God) is not won over by intuitive wisdom, meditation or Yoga." - Guru Nanak

"The Shabad is Yoga" - Guru Nanak

Kundalini Yoga or other various forms of physical Yoga are mentioned in the Guru Granth Sahib as not being essential to a sikhs life... in other words you can be sikh without practising so called "Kundalini Yoga" so why does Yogi Bhajan lay such a stress on this issue?...WHY ISNT THIS STRESS LAID ON NAAM SIMRAN...If "Kundalini Yoga" is so important why didn't the Gurus include descriptions of the various "saadhanas" in the Guru Granth Sahib..and wy has no other Sikh leader and none of the Sikh Guru's held the title of "MAHAN TANTRIC MASTER" Didn't Guru Ji liberate us from these "saadhanas, tantras and mantras" by giving us the Gur Mantar, the true elixir, the Amrit of the SHABAD, WAHEGURU!The SHABAD is the true Yoga i think if i'm wrong could you correct me.

    WJKK WJKF!

Yogi Bhajan Ji used Kundalini Yoga to help us learn how to meditate on the naam effectivley, the mantras he used were 'Whae Guru' which is the gurmantar, and also Sat Naam and mool mantar, i know this because i have learnt about his teachings and am in the process of doing Kundalini Yoga , which is the most purest form. Ppl have a missunderstanding about yoga, when they see pictures of ppl in funny positions..... and false yogis who claim to see Gods etc .

yoga is a science which we can use to help us meditate on God and Gurbani effectively. It helps us concentrate on the shabad, not like alota ppl who are thinking of the money or manmukh things while praying, but yoga helps us concentrate better, is this wrong?

There are many different kinds and some are hindu, budist etc etc which are no good for us.

  12. I really think we should do something about Sikhnet, they are misleading the youth, in the Q & A Forum. For every question the answer is Yoga, and they are making up their own bs to answer all the youth questions, everything is from a Yoga point of view, not a Sikh point of view.

Is there anything we can do, becasue I know so many youth depend on that site?

    Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa

    WAhe Guru Ji Ki Fateh

Sikh net is not doing anything wrong, they give advice in a yoga point of veiw but mainly from a Sikhi point of veiw , and they use the yoga meditation ideas so that the person asking for advice can meditate on the Shabads they give.

They are doing very very good seva for the youth, what more can we ask from them. They are very educated about Gurbani.

The reason why many punjabi ppl dont like it , is because these sikhs dont involve punjabi culture into the Sikh Dharam and help ppl from a strictly unbias point of veiw.

there is a misunderstanding by people.

  13. I am hoping to see/meet his parents.. Is there anyone who can help me in locating his family members back in punjab ? email me @ singhvicky@yahoo.com (amritsar) Singh who passed away last year...

http://www.gurmatstudies.com/memorial.html (Btw is it charnjit or charanjit ?)

It would be really great if i can get information about what his parents or siblings do etc.. THanks !

  14. vaheguru ji ka khalsa, vaheguru ji ki fatehh

sangat ji .. sikhi is not a imaginary religion but only practical truth .. every and each shabd in whole guru granth sahib ji .. does guru ji said those shabad for himself or telling to someone.. cuz where ever we read every every shabad .. always end with nanak ..seems like each and every shabad is like guru ji is talking about himself for himself to waheguroo .. what u all think ??

    137087[/snapback]

i fort guru ji uses himself as an example , and when it has nanak in , it means the guru ji is quoting Guru Nanak ji .

hes talking to us , i think ur gettin confused , maybe someone else can explain it better than me
