  1. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Silently is AMAZING! Once you get going that feeling stays with you once you have actually 'stopped' the sitting down part. It gets in your head! Khanda kharkay? 24/7 at the top of your lungs... Personally Im not sure about that.. In your mind, you betcha!

Hope this helps.
  3. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Why is it that we never see bibian doing Panj Piaray seva? I dont think I have heard of this in the UK at any Gurdwara or raen Sabai? Just wondering...
  4. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Whether 'keski' is a kakar or not, nobody has the right to criticise a bibi, regardless of her personal rehat for wearing a dastaar. She should be congratulated. If her conduct is not that becoming of a Sikh, then we have an issue - but when has any action been ever taken against the tens of thousands of men out there who wear dastaar and even have daara who go out and commit bad deeds? Also 'Khalistani' bhaji, what you said about Damdami Taksal does sound correct to my ears. Baba Thakur Singh ji and the Jatha were in the UK 2 weeks ago. I know that Baba himself has mentioned to a number members of the Jatha that their newly married Singhnia should wear Dastaar. Also, when Amrit di Daat bakhshi jandi, the Panj Piare definitely DO say that bibian shoud wear Dastaar if they can and at the very least their head should be covered 24/7.
  5. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Bhenji, A version of this story was posted on one of the egroups a yera or two ago - either akj, boss, I cant remember. Whether its true or not, its certainly inspirational - will tell my Singhni about it!
  6. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Has anybody got any historical evidence to back up the practice of saas giraas? Everybody has been silent about this
  7. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I am not sure if I understand this correctly. It is alright to discuss all aspects of the Amrit Sanchaar including how Amrit is to be prepared, the actual Gurmantar itslef but not the specific method of saas giraas. This doesn't appear to be logical, if my understanding is correct because: The physical method of giving, receiving and saying Gurmantar is secret (saas giraas, dhuni etc) and thus is more important than all other aspects of Amrit Sanchaar including the Gurmantar itself. It is the Gurmantar given by Guru ji in the form of the Panj Piare which has the power, not one physical method of japping it. Please could somebody explain further. Daas
  8. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Thanks bhaji for the link. That was where i had read it. Bhai Randhir Singh does not mention Saas Giraas, even in passing. Was this a deliberate omission i.e. was he not allowed to mention the fact that the Panj Piare even teach this? Also, are there any historical accounts which also mention that Saas Giraas physical technique was given at Amrit Sanchaars? Thanks in advance
  9. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! "Taksal still gives it on the most part but some dont. just like a lot of hte panth still does it, some doesnt" Damdami Taksal do not teach a PHYSICAL TECHNIQUE of saas giraas and as far as i am aware they never have. Please do not attribute things to other Sampardas/organisations/individuals unless you know that what you are saying is correct.
  10. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Are there any historical documents which mention this aspect of the Amrit Sanchar ceremony? In an extract from Bhai Randir Singh ji about Amrit Sanchaar (I read this yesterday on I believe Tapoban website), he made no mention about this aspect of the ceremony although he did go on to describe other parts of it i.e. how the Panj Piare prepare Amrit and administer it. Can any of the Sangat ched any light on this? PS a member of this forum (cant remember who) wrote that Bhai Randhir Singhs time, dhuni was not practised?
  11. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Bhai Sahib, This is truly amazing - a friend of mine approached me yesterday about this very issue that you have mentioned and today I spotted this thread. He talked about exactly what you had on your mind. Dont think you are alone in this dilemma. It may be a hard path bhaji but just do your best. Doing paath together, simran, kirtan, mul mantar whatever you can may help to bring you and your wife closer on this path. As for your children, a Gursikh explained to me that when your child is born, the dad should prepare Amrit and give it to the baby. There is therefore no jooth. I am most certainly wrong (maybe somebody else can correct me) but if you feel this is an issue, your children could take chulay (this is what my mum and dad did when I was a very young baby and they took Amrit). I wish you all the best Bhai Sahib. This is the most important thing you will ever do.
  12. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Bhaji, Saadh, Gurmukh, Gursikh and Sant are used in many parts of Guru Granth Sahib ji as interchangeable terms. It is simplistic to state that to call a person a Sant is wrong but to call somebody a Pooran Gursikh is ok - according to the way these terms were used by Guru ji, these statements would mean exactly the same thing i.e. a person who reached the stage of Sach Khand and is imeersed in Waheguru ji 24/7. Daas
  13. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh! I think that Bhai Randheer Singh also created his own version of the rehat maryada... Is this not the case? Daas vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  14. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Is there any historically evidence that a physical technique of doing gurmantar simran was around before bhai randheer singh? vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  15. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! In relation to the question by bhaji about Bhai Randheer Singh - who are we to know whether they were in pain or not? None of us was there so its hypothetical. In terms of whether ANY individual who has done naam all there life can stumble or falter, there are many examples in Gurbani and Ithihas of people who have. A note to the admin team - i dont know if any one has posted this about Raag Mala, but it does have a spiritual meaning according to Baba Gurbachan Singh ji Khalsa who wrote a whole book on it. According to this, it is NOT simply a collection of raags. If this point has been discussed please forgive me. Admin Note: No, this issue has not been discussed. It can be discussed in a civil manner under a different topic please. We do not want to discourage free speech but we also do not want to create animousity or fighting over useless things. It is our stance and akal takhts that raag mala can be read and cannot be read and either side is correct. Please respect others opinions. However, I would like to hear what you have to say on this topic, under a different thread. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
