I guess that the reason why some women get fooled by pakis wearing kara. If they were smart and had sikhi in them they wouldn't just look at the kara but also at kes.

Yeh thats true, also you can tell just by talking to them. Paki's also look weirdly different you can't describe it. They marry their cousins so thats probably why

This egyption guy I used to be friends with said to me that my nose stopped growing just the right time because if it grew any more it would of been a proper paki nose LMAO!

Lol but it goes with the rest of my face  it don't stand out I think

My sister always tells me that she hates my nose

You know it's becauase everyone mistook me for a paki is the reason why I stopped cutting my hair in the first place! Lol that's how much it p!ssed me of lol   I used to get upset lol

My family are not even from Pakistan so I don't know what i looked like that   but now I look proper sikh lol

In general most Sikhs that cut their kes end up looking like Pakis idk why

  3. I'm not gonna lie; looks are pretty hollow. Theoretically, you could be the prettiest person in the world but if your personality does not compliment your beauty then it can make you ugly. That's why I always try to stay simple and natural so that at least I am being true to myself. Besides, I don't need to worry what I look like anyway, I prefer to focus more on my personality. Both my parents are good-looking anyway so I don't need to worry LMAO but still personality matters more than looks.

Personally I think girls look prettier when they don't wear makeup, when they wear make-up they look fake lol

I really wanna do one! Haha

But I dont know which one is most accurate for South Asians   been wanting to do one for a year now.

When I do one I'm post the results on here lol

Average Punjabi is around 80% south Asian and 20% other stuff mainly central Asian etc

The best rated ones are 23 and Me or Ancestry DNA. Idk which one is better tho. My science teacher did one and he put his results on the board lmao his came as 100% Indian ? but he was from different parts of India but overall 100% Indian ??

I am amritdhari but recently have not kept rehat for a while due to problems in my personal life, i have not done anyhting bad like do beadbi of my kes or eat meat or any of the 4 kurehits. But i have not been doing my nitnem/amritvela/kakkar rehat- i.e. often I will go days without wearing my kara or kirpan etc and i used to listen to a lot of katha kirtan but now i just watch western tv and movies it's gotten quite bad i feel like i've forgotten my sikhi

how can i stop myself from doing all this in the future and what can i do to discipline myself into staying with rehit? do i need to go pesh to panj pyareh? but im scared if i go pesh i will fall off this path again and have to keep going back.. i really love sikhi idk why sometimes one thing leads to another and suddenly i haven't done my nitnem in weeks

Its easy to fall off the Path every once in a while but by dusting yourself off and carrying on on the Path is the main thing. Because right now, you are like a table with 2 legs, you are more prone to falling so try to surround yourself in the Sangat of Gursikhs, listen to as much Bani, kirtan and katha as you can. Motivate yourself with Katha to help you wake up in the morning. All other works are of no avail to you. Watching western tv etc is a load of garbage anyway lol.

As for your Panj Kakkars you have to keep them on, no matter what. The Panj Kakkars are the nishaani that you are a Sikh. Wear them with pride (not ego) but be proud that you have been blessed. I like wearing a massive Kara because when everyone asks me why I wear it, I love explaining Sikhi to them. Shastar you should always keep them on you 24/7 because you have to stay tyar bar tyar. I'm not amritdhari yet but Maharaj Kirpa hoping to take amrit when I'm around 17/18. However I am starting to practise now.

You do need to go pesh because maybe you will feel like you don't want to go the Panj Pyare again if you go once. Please take it from someone who is so thirsty for amrit. You have been blessed with amrit so please keep it till the day you die. It is a truly a Gift that is priceless.

You are part of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's family so you have every right to walk with your head held high.

Please will admin block user mahandulai. It is so obvious this person is tactically trying to cause manipulation, doubt, loss of faith amoung the sikh community. This troll has no place on this forum

He's definitely calmed down a lot since before, you used to say one thing to him and he used to get so triggered ??

But yeh, much better than before

Some time ago I was excited to wake up at amritvela and I was determined to get up and not fall asleep during my nitnem, and enjoyed listening to asa di vaar afterwards. Now I don't feel that excitement at all, and rather than going straight for an ishnaan once i wake up, I spend around an hour doing anything else. i've become very lazy with my nitnem, and don't listen to asa di vaar anymore. i;ve totally lost that feeling of joy of waking up for my guruji, and i'm worried it'll never come back

If you still remember the Anand you used to get, use that as motivation and don't get distracted. Even if you just wake up everyday and just merely recite Bani, carry on. You will get used to it and you will start to enjoy it. I find getting lots of motivation from Katha or Kirtan before you go to bed also helps. I think the main thing is just getting back into the discipline and you will start to enjoy it more too. You can also try getting everything done before you go to bed so that when you wake up, you aren't distracted by anything and you just have to do your nitnem. Use Anand as your motivation and you can also try learning a new Bani so that you concentrating on something.

I am 26 year old . I have not cut my hairs or bread ever till date, but now after so many years i feel disillusioned with sikhism ( in general all religion). I lost my youth under constraints like not smoking, and having low self confidence. Even now i struggle with my life on academic front. In my circle i have Sikh friends getting hair cut but they are not punished by god for that act. life goes as it was before .

In my opinion I feel that this is Maharaj testing you, its really easy to drift away (from Sikhi) for a bit but then you just got to realise how lucky you are to be a Sikh. Against all odds, you have been gifted this human life to do Bhagti of Vaheguru Ji. The world is entangled in Maya but you can't fall into that trap. Let the world carry on doing what they are doing but you need to have your mind set on the purpose of your life. A Sikh's purpose of life is to merge with Vaheguru Ji.

Smoking is not good for you anyway, it destroys your body. Cutting hair is also pointless. You mention that your friends have not been punished for cutting their kes, however you don't know when or how they will be punished. Maharaj may punish them a bit later in life not right now. The whole reason why we keep kes is because we need to accept the way Vaheguru Ji made us.

Veerji you just got to try sitting down and listening to Bani or Vaheguru Simran, Maharaj will guide you the way. Do an Ardas, take a hukamnama, do seva in the Guru Ghar. There's lots of things you can do, you just need to do it.

    lol

the whole point is vanity at all,

time spent plucking is the same as time spent moulding them with whatever techniques you use, = TIME SPENT in vanity

I agree with you to a certain extent but it can also show that you accept the way God has made your eyebrows and you therefore spend time taking care of them.

I am amritdhari, my eyebrows are pretty bushy and a monobrow too, sometimes I want to just trim them but I refrain myself. Are there any way I can make them naturally look better?

Don't trim them, the less you notice the less others will notice. Also if you trim them they will grow back bushier. Its also wrong to do beadbi of kes. You can use a little eyebrow brush to comb them (make them less bushy) but don't cut them!
