I am a 28 year old Sikh girl. I used to drink alcohol but I quit, I used to eat meat but I quit. I feel bad eating animals now and I know in our religion it’s preferred I don’t eat meat. I have never ever treated someone unequally or have had ego problems. I do my work honestly and help the community. I have a soft heart. I just really regret some decisions I made before which makes me feel like I’ll be put in an endless cycle again. I lost my virginity before marriage and I’ve been regretting it everyday. I don’t know how I can make up for this or what I can do to better practice my religion. I’m always scared I will go to a bad place after death but I always try to be an honest person. Can someone please guide me and tell me what’s right or wrong. I couldn’t find the answer to this. I dont know if god will forgive me and I feel really bad doing these mistakes I did

Do an ardas to maharaj ji and keep on going on the Sikhi path.

I'm sure most of you guys have heard of Cockney Rhyming Slang.

I've been using something very similar for quite a while. I call it Punjabi Rhyming Slang. I've always referred to "Gay" (or "Geh" as it would be pronounced in Punjabi) as "Munshi da Peh" (a Munshi is a writer or secretary). Yeah, that's the only one I've got at the moment. ?

    Lol

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

I want to ask whether shastar are needed to be parkash'ed in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj when they come to our home for a Sukhmani Sahib or any paatth like in a Gurdwara, or is it optional?

What is the basic overall maryada to be followed when Maharaj come to grace our home? (apart from the one that no intoxicants should be in the home, that one I am aware of)

Its good to have shastars in front of Maharaj ji

Do you by any chance have a recipe for degh?

I normally put in 4 tablespoons of everything. You will need desi ghee (or unsalted butter), wholegrain atta, sugar and warm water.

    1) Put ghee in whatever you’re using to cook and put your gas on to low-medium flame.
    2) When the ghee gets sea through put the atta in and start stirring immediately. (Make sure that the ghee doesn’t get hot or your degh will be lumpy).

    3) Cook on a low flame and keep stirring or the degh will stick to the pan.

    4) When the traditional smell of degh starts to come and the mixture is golden brown put the sugar in.

    5) add in the hot water. (Tip: Put it in slowly. You don’t want your degh to have too much water. The degh should come together and shouldn’t really be stuck to the pan

No bhai sahib you do not need to go for pesh. You did not do it intentionally, people who go for pesh is normally when they break the Rehat Maryada purposely or when they took amrit but diverted from sikhi and now wish to come back to sikhi. However in your case,it was an accident so its should be fine, but if you feel uncomfortable, you can still go for pesh but you do not need to do other things like retake amrit. If anyone disagrees with me please correct me.?

    Bhul chuk maf?

Thanks ji. This will help me alot

The other day I saw blue while doing simran, the shade of blue was similar to the blue that tou see in fire,  I got distracted by it and it just ended my concentration in simran.

When I open my eyes after a while of simran, everything seems blue in colour

No responses yet ? really big shame

Stage 1 of Simran nothing at all happens. You get thoughts like “I’m wasting my time”

Stage 2 you begin to feel things, and there will be no limit

Humans are the most stupid creatures, because ‘nothing happens’ in stage 1 we apply our blind logic and think “what’s the point”. People even get so deluded they say there’s no point reading it over and over, just ‘apply it’ to your life. If the mind becomes that doubtful on gur-shabad the only way to get kirpa is to die and be born again with a fresh mindset into good sangat

Another thing happens in Stage 1 which is ‘prabh kai Simran garab na basai’ becomes true. All of your remaining paap and future janams get dealt with as a 'fast track' in this janam. So sometimes bad things can happen in your life or dreams it can last years. At that stage some people give up with Simran because they think “why are bad things happening if I do Simran?”. Once all karams/paap are dealt with then everything single kirpa is yours.

It’s great you are doing Simran and mool mantar, keep doing it, there’s nothing higher. As soon as you say “Ik onkar” Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji appears in front of you. You need dib-dristhe to see it tough, because when kirpa happens Guru Ji won't 'come' from some heaven in the sky, you just get darshan and realise they were standing with you the entire time. And even when you are doing abiyaas now souls from around creation come just to do your darshan, they know exactly who Guru Nanak Dev Ji are and what their bani is, even if we don’t.

First feelings and experiences will only happen during Simran, but then it becomes part of your everyday life, non-stop anand which nothing can compare to.

So well done brother carry on, and I pray Guru Nanak Dev Ji will bless you with an abundance of naam Simran di daat ?

    Thanks ji
